So good! We have been on the quest to find another bakery that we really like, so we stopped here today. The lady at the counter was really helpful with describing the different cupcakes and what was in them. I tried the chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake, which was absolutely amazing. There was chocolate chips inside the yellow cake and had a really delicious buttercream on top. There was also actual cookie dough on the top and inside the buttercream. We really enjoyed it! 9/10 rating for me. The second cupcake we tried my fiancé really loved the most which was cherry cheesecake. There was cherries inside the cake, and that was also delicious. 8.5/10 Both cupcakes came out to be a little over eight dollars total, but they run different specials every day and they also sell many other bakery items that looked amazing. read more

Dough Guys in Palos saved my mom brain big time this past weekend. In the midst of the holidays and planning my babies baptism, I inevitably waited until the last minute to order a cake for his luncheon. On Monday December 29th I started calling places frantically looking for a Bakery that was 1) OPEN and 2) could fulfill an event cake order for the Saturday after New Years. Dough Guys and Sharon saved the day. They took my call on Monday and got me in touch with Sharon asap to place the cake order. I sent them a picture of what I was looking for and they absolutely delivered on the decoration. The cake was so delicious that I had no problem with my guests wanting to take extra pieces home. It was super fresh and the banana filling was very generous, not that thin layer you see from other places. The buttercream even tasted great. I also have to mention the price was beyond fair. Everything that they make here is wonderful so the -2 stars is not for any of their delightful treats. It's about the packaging. Single donut should not go in a single plastic clamshell. This place ruined my daughter's 1st birthday photoshoot. Very cold hearted and unapologetic, even after they clearly made a huge mistake. Honestly it makes me sad that i have to write this review but people need to know. Im even more sad at this point because I can't undo the pictures. I ordered from them before and i was going to order another cake in a couple of weeks but after what kind of cake they made for me and how they treated me, I'd rather not deal with them ever again. I was initially told i need to place the order through Cheryn by calling her and sending her a picture, which i did. Im not sure if shes the owner but she was the main contact. I also spoke to her right after I sent the pictures. She sounded very confident and said the cake would be ready on the specific day I request it, which was the day l had my daughters photoshoot. Meanwhile my photographer lives close by so she offered to pick up the cake for me, which was ok because they made a cake for me before so i trusted them somewhat. Im really not sure what happened or if they have a new baker but when i got to the photoshoot the cake was completely different than what i wanted. I texted Cheryn immediately and she said, oh I didnt review the cake after it was made..I thought to myself....really!?! so then i called the baker in the morning and she even tells me something worse! She says "well Cheryn told me to make any kind of unicorn cake because she said u were not specific" I nearly lost it at that point. What kind of person takes an order and doesn't tell the baker what the customer wants when they are clearly paying extra to make a custom cake and on top of that doesn't even apologize! I'm still kicking myself in the foot because had i known or seen the cake from this place prior I would've just walked away. I hope everyone reads this before ordering. I ordered my cake over the phone months in advanced and the lady who helped me was very kind and sweet. She listened to what I wanted and 3 months later when I showed up to pick up my cake it was PERFECT! The cake was exactly what I envisioned, but the taste was even better. The cake was so moist and delicious. I ordered yellow cake with vanilla and chocolate custard. It was amazing! Highly recommend!! Good prices too. read more

Closest bakery near by with fresh doughnuts! They're nice, thick and satisfying! Oh and those white pastries were delicious like a flaky almond cookie dusted with powder sugar not sure what they're called and the turtles were okay. All this place is missing is fresh coffee and it'll be perfect spot! They've got a nice selection of cupcakes and various pastries seasonal and regular I always go for the old fashioned tho not to sweet. What I don't understand is how the lady infront of me paid $5 for half a dozen donuts and I paid $3.50 for 2 donuts and 6 miniature cookies .... Not only is their food great, but they are nice as well. When I lived in Chicago, their maple bacon long Johns were the bomb. Now I live in Arizona. We were here on a Wednesday about an hour before closing and were quite impressed with the service, prices, selection still available, and the quality of the fresh baked goods. Even though it was later in the day there was a nice quantity of donuts left and they were fresh and tasty. We also got some items that have a multi-day shelf life like eclairs, a lemon parfait, and a bag of six of Bill's Bacon Buns. We enjoyed them all even if the bacon in the bacon buns seems a bit too dry and over cooked. Watch closely as they change hours a few times a year depending on the season or customer flow. Up way too early, so I decided to drive over to this place and check it out, grab breakfast. Cute place! Bright, clean, and great service from the gals working the counter. No more waiting around for fat-tuesday. I picked up cheese kokacky, 3 different chocolate donuts, and a loaf of bread - around $8 for all. The donuts are huge - like the size of my head. This is my go-to bakery for custom made birthday cakes. I've been coming here for two years in a row to have my husband's cakes made by them, and they have NEVER disappointed me. They're not like other bakeries that can be a bit difficult to work with when customizing a specialty cake. You don't need a ridiculous 2-6 week advance notice (like some bakeries have told me before) to order your cake here. The most advanced notice I have given them was between 2-4 days, and they were able to make my cake in time! Not only make it, but have it come out beautiful and very fresh! Their pastries are also very delicious. We can't get enough of those ever-so-tempting Bacon Maple Doughnuts! Mmmm! We loved the flavor so much, we requested for my husband's 31st birthday cake to be made out of the Maple Bacon Cupcake flavor. It came out fantastic! So rich, moist and mouth-watering. Incredible customer service! I came here to order 2 dozen cupcakes for a gender reveal party. I wanted one and only one cupcake to be filled with blue or pink cream filling. They were so great to work with and helped me design the perfect cupcakes for our party. I ordered one dozen chocolate and one dozen vanilla cupcakes. All had a buttercream filling, and one special cupcake (which was a surprise to me just as much as it was to our guests) had the special colored filling. (Blue!) I brought them in a sealed envelope with the ultrasound information. They also had countless options for how to decorate the top of the cupcakes in a cute and creative way. We tried this bakery this weekend and were a bit disappointed. The pineapple upside down cake didn't seem fresh and definitely not the best we have had, the brownie-cheesecake is mainly brownie and while they were good I expected more cheesecake (it was like a 90%brownie to 10% cheesecake if that). The doughnuts were great, and if anything we may come back for those and others we didn't get to try because of limited selection available. We didn't try cupcakes but they looked beautiful. One thing that was disheartening was the use of styrofoam and plastic bags for most of the packaging. Not environmentally friendly at all-especially with the prices and a bit inconvenient when you buy a variety for group to access and easily close/coverup. read more
