I stopped in to see about ordering 65 elephant cookies for a shower next month. The woman was not very pleasant or helpful. She said she didn't have any cookie for me to try and didn't offer to have one for me to try if I came back and bought one, which i offered to do. I came in at 11:00 so it wasn't like they had just opened. She showed me her cookie cutter and gave me a price. I offered to buy a cookie but she said the only ones she had then were not iced. I stopped in here today to pick up some treats to send my cousin in a care package. The owner was working the counter and was very nice. I was looking for some cookies to send but they only ones they had made were in the shape of a number 1 and I thought that would be kind of weird to send her. I bought her some chocolate covered pretzel rods instead. While I was there the owner told me they had a special and were selling $1 cupcakes. Soooo of course I had to get some. I got caramel pumpkin, childhood favorite (think homemade hostess) and apple pie. I tried the apple pie one but not the others so far. It wasn't the best cupcake I've ever had but it was good. I thought the frosting was kind of weird tasting. It was almost too buttery and felt slippery. My mom tried one and thought the same thing. I asked about pricing and she (didn't catch her name) tells me cupcakes are 6 for $10 but I'm looking at the sign that reads $6 for 7. She explains that the advertisement was from Saturday and she forgot to take it down as she erases the chalk board with her hand. Next she mentioned she would give me the deal but kindly added it would only be $14 for 12 not 20 with a not so nice grin on her face. So I decided to purchase one to taste - I needed at least 25! I ordered 3 of the paint your own cookies for my kids. I had asked if my husband could pick them up for me the next day at 10:30am and the girl on the phone said no problem. My husband went in at 12:30 and they weren't ready. The girl told him it would be about 5 to 10 minutes which normally wouldn't be a big deal but he was on his way somewhere and couldn't wait. So I called and asked for a refund as I would have no time to get them that day. The girl had a really bad attitude and told me she didn't know why my husband couldn't wait. Well, that's not ready then. And I was told they'd be ready at 10:30 and he went in at 12:30 so there really wasn't any reason they shouldn't have been ready to go. She ended up refunding me but offered no apology. I am very disappointed because even though they are quite pricy I was looking forward to surprising my kids with them. Everyone was impressed at the moisture of the cake and blown away by the amazing light taste of their italian buttercream. We ordered chocolate mocha, salted caramel, plain chocolate, smores, maple bacon, banana sundae, and regular vanilla w/sprinkles.
