Went it for warranty work and found out they charge for the time they spend on the phone talking to warranty which can't be proven. They don't try at all to get things covered I had to call myself about what was covered and then tell the shop, yes it is covered because they won't ask. My has been doing accounting for years and saw they over charged us. Wouldn't have been a big deal if the weak guy at the desk hadn't gotten but hurt. After getting cranky for being accused of it and admitting he made a mistake he said they didn't want our business anymore. The owner later called to apologize, whatever. When I went to get my truck that still cost over $1000 with warranty the owner never once came out even though we saw each other. This is just another shady mechanic out to make money. I went here to have my emissions done. These guys are as cool as it gets. I wasn't sure if this would be a typical type of shop where you are always getting cut off and corrected by the head guy. No here. These dudes are really just genuinely into what they do and it shows. It is apparent they know Diesel engines and they also race. So, when I took my Sprinter in for emissions testing I had a blast talking shop. The employees all seem very sharp and are really friendly. When I was there they were making steaks and serving lunch. It is apparent that they are a tight operation and care about what they do. I recommend taking your vehicle here no matter what. Brought my 6.0 in for oil leaks and other misc work. The repair bill was 4300.00 and included an oil cooler change. They did the work and I had to return it for slight oil leak. They fixed the leak but the truck was having problems not starting when hot. Decided to do the work myself because I just spent 4300.00 and couldn't afford it. Removed the HP oil cover and discovered the rear was globed with grey sealer, probably one source for the oil leak. The O rings were installed incorrectly. Yellow o ring was on top and badly damaged. Got the entire HP oil system rebuilt with new pump, stand pipes, oil rails....etc and decided to change the hp oil screen and check the oil cooler as well. Oil cooler was original and HP oil pump screen completely clogged with debris, fabric pieces, dirt and was original too. So DCD did NOT change the cooler or hp oil pump screen. Called them and asked about it. Tech said he didn't remember changing the cooler. Asked Joel the manager to call me. He never returned my calls. Sent Joel an email along with photos about what I found. Never returned my email or other calls. Called my CC company and disputed the charges. DCD never responded to VISA either. 963.00 was eventually returned to me from VISA. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS. THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR REPAIRS THEY NEVER DO. read more

3 years ago they did a leak down test on my Cummins. Said the engine needs a complete overhaul for $14-17K. After 35K miles still runs strong with no issues. Went to a reputable shop that works for ATS and they said there is absolutely nothing wrong with my truck. DO NOT TRUST these guys! read more

Had over $7000 of work done. Including water pump, thermostat, ball joints, oil pan, rear crank seal and more. less than 8000 daily driving, non-towing miles later: water pump is puking coolant out 1 gallon per 200 miles. 1 ball joint is failing rear crank seal is leaking 2 quarts per 400 miles. they wont honor their work with a warranty. absolutely will never take any sort of vehicle to them again. charged me to REDO the thermostat and water pump work. Told me they fixed the rear crank seal, now it is leaking worse than ever. Tried to sell much a bunch of parts i know i didnt need. read more

I have been going to Douglas County Diesel for several years. I bought a 2004 F250 King Ranch with a 6.0L engine and started having problems with it right off. The guys at Douglas County Diesel went through the process of educating me about diesel engines and working through the problems my truck was having with professionalism and without making me feel stupid for not understanding the nuances. Every problem was explained at the level I needed it explained at and I found that my knowledge grew exponentially through the process. They have now worked through all of the problems I had with the truck and it runs like it is new! Seriously, when I got it there was a full one second pause before acceleration started. DO NOT SCHEDULE SERVICE HERE. I scheduled a service to have my check engine light reviewed. I went in to the shop to schedule my service and initially my feeling I got from the guy at the counter was I was bothering him and a feeling that I was not wanted there. I dropped off my truck anyways on a Sunday via the drop box. I called Monday morning to check and make sure if they got my key and what a time frame would be to get any kind of diagnosis and the guy who answered just said they were really busy so I asked if they have my key and his response was that if I put it in the drop box then it should still be there. Again as if I was a bother to them. I call later Monday to see where my truck stands and the phone just rang. I called 10 times in two hours with no answer so I showed up after work to just get my key and they took 15 minutes just to find it. After they found it there was no question to why I was getting my key and no apologies to why my truck was never even looked at. I mean they never even took the key out of the drop box envelope. I have spent several thousand with this company and they mis diagnosed my last repair, so when I became stranded, I took it to another diesel place to see what there opinion was, it was the injectors! Douglas County diesel sold me a clutch fan and fuel filter for $1500 the injector was another $1000. Chad King owner told me to bring in my receipt and he would reimburse me, to make a long story short we are going on 3 months and still no reimbursement! Not only that,I call and get nothing. I think this business is a joke they are a bunch of crooks that have no ethics! Chad King's slogan should be there is no Royalty and there is no Loyalty! He won't even call you back, I hope his business suffers, so we can all get one more crook off the street! Don't do business with Douglas County Diesel all they want is your money, then you to can be part of the system when they mis diagnose!
