This requires a back story. About a month ago, during a snow storm, my car would not start, I got a…read morejump, first thought battery. Had to go to Aurora so thought was, shop for a batterry while stuck in Aurora. Battery checked out fine, so that leaves major problem or? Car acting fine so figure just a fluke. Fast forward, yesterday go into Walmart, come out battery dead. First thought, battery is fine, what the heck! I get a jump, got stuff to do do, so "driving on a prayer". This AM went to Kiowa Auto repair. Shellie happened to be out front, she and another technician, Dustin, were manning the fort. Dustin asked if it the battery had been checked under a load, my answer, no? Turns out battery had a bad cell. Shellie priced checked for me, I volunteered to go to NAPA, get new battery, come back and let Shellie install it for me. As I am pulling out, Dustin noticed something wierd with the back right tire. When I got back they insisted on checking it out. Between him and Shellie they figured out I had lost a bolt on the rear brake caliber and the other one was loose. They wouldn't let me leave without fixing it. They said, "My saftey was their top concern". Later after I left I realised the implications if they had just let me leave, a vivid imagination, working over time. If the rear wheel brake locked up going 55mph, which out here is an every day thing, it would have ended badly. Thank you guys. I trust Kiowa Auto repair and they will get all my business from now on.

Kelly contacted me and threatened to sue me for the review I posted. So, there are a few things I…read morewould like to add...and subtract. First as in all reviews, and is common sense to know, this is my opinion and is true to the best of my knowledge and ability to decipher with the evidence present, which was/is shown in pictures. Second, I would retract the part about what another customer said about the tailgate cover being taken, because it is hearsay as I stated in the post and have no first hand knowledge about it; so I should not have included it. But I cannot retract it on the post, because Kelly did not get back to me until June 10th and I only had a month to edit a post. You might ask yourself why it took Kelly so long to get back to me, MAYBE it has something to do with evidence being destroyed over time? But I did not drive the truck and so it was still the same when I went to see him and he refused to even look at the truck. Third, I took the time to go talk to Kelly, because he threatened to sue me, I thought that if I showed him the floor, the dirt on the turbo, and the tool marks on the "new part" he would at least talk about the problems, instead all he did was reiterate that if I did not remove the review I would be sued. He refused to look at or address any of the problems! And in taking so long to get back to me made it impossible to remove the post even if I was so inclined. Kelly said that all the parts installed are new Ford parts bought through Napa. So, in fairness, I will state that I do not know what parts he bought, he claims to have receipts for the parts but did not show them to me. I have showed him all my proof and he has not shown me anything. He also said he did not know what clearances turbos have, but that his mechanic sprayed the turbo with brake clean before opening it; which in his opinion is all that is needed. While this could be true (that his mechanic sprayed the turbo with brake clean, it was not clean as shown in the pictures), ANY dirt on the turbo shell can get inside once opened and there should be NO dirt on the outside whenever you open a turbo or you chance dirt getting inside and doing future damage. Turbo clearances are so tight they will not tolerate any contamination. Kelly, being a certified master mechanic should know this and take appropriate precautions. (or make sure his employees are taking the precautions) Kelly refused to look at the floor where the matt was missing from. Changed his story from being grease tracked into the truck, to floor dry being tracked in. (and according to him regrets his mechanic did not clean it up) But he says regardless his people did not take the matt. And I again reiterate that the matt was there when dropped off and gone when I picked the truck up. It is my opinion that the truck while in his care is his responsibility to protect. The picture shows where the matt was and only my foot print on the floor because I did not notice the matt was missing before I stepped in. Again, if the matt was missing from the beginning, IN MY OPINION, there would have been many more foot prints on the floor; not just mine when getting into the vehicle. So again, it is MY OPINION that the truck was not locked when they put it into the yard, and somebody took the matt AFTER the truck was parked back outside, otherwise it would have had all sorts of footprints on the floor from before it was taken to the shop and from the mechanic(s) working on it. Over all it was a waste of my time to go talk to Kelly. More threats of suit, denying of any wrong doing, refusing to look at the truck and the things I had complained about, and demands of the review be taken down. People have a right to know others experiences from business. Kelly has never taken the time to post his rebuttal on the website, he just makes threats. Tried to add copies of emails but there is not enough room allowed.

Plus no one answers the phone for customers or the AAA service providers when they try and call. I assume no one was in the office and they figured they'd get to it when they felt like it. Communication definitely needs to improve, along with attentiveness. I would never willingly give these guys any of my money. What jokers. Also immediately noticed that the tow truck driver tore apart some of the interior to my vehicle and I have no idea why. Very sketchy. I'll expect compensation for any extra repairs that have occurred at the hands of the driver.

Wait, this one tops all. My son and I overheated on I25 in June 2025. We called AAA roadside (our…read moremembership is based out of CA but they route you to AAA CO). We called at 3pm. No updates. 500 a driver from BDAT is on the way. 530, he rolls up and loads our beautifully restored camper Westy van. 6pm we pull into a shop that I found was still open and serviced VWs. 615 or so, driver comes into the office where I was with the shopkeeper to say "the gears don't work, I can't get it into gear." What? We had just driven in from CA and been on road for 6 days. No problemos. We were there bc we overheated and I wanted a go-ahead green light, being cautious, that was ALL. The driver of BLACK DIAMOND AUTO TRANSPORT has me go with him to the van, I jump in passenger side and proceed to watch him GRIND BACK AND FORTH the gear shifter WITHOUT THE KEY IN!!! My response in horror: "where's the key?????!!!!!" It was on the dash, he grabs it, puts in key, and wash, rinse repeat, grinds the shifter, "yeah, it doesn't work." That's bc you broke it buddy! I had to rent a vehicle for the balance of our 36 day Westy road trip (where I had her all dialed in!) and we shipped the van back home ($$$$) and RENTED a station wagon (not unlike wagon we intentionally had left at home), had to buy tent/camping equip, had to change all kinds of reservations from van to tent (or different property, and in some cases different city). So expensive (more than $5K) and also emotionally distressing. All bc a boneheaded driver didn't know you need to put the gear in with a KEY. The driver's front window had a MAJOR (ticketable) horizontal chick crack across the entire window + minor cracks. Yes was really late (probably not his fault, but his company's) and he doesn't know automotive. He was nice. That's besides the point. BDAT refused to own their negligence. In fact, now that I have a small claims case filed, they are refusing + returning legal court mail from me re: the trial. Uncanny. How do they sleep at night???
