After being diagnosed with abnormal cells after a pap smear and postmenopausal bleeding, I insisted…read morethat my primary care doctor find a OBGYN doctor immediately as I am proactive when it comes to my health. I was fortunate to get an appointment with doctor Robert K, Gildersleeve in Hebron, a few days later. I must share that I was immediately impressed with the welcoming care I received from the doctor's office staff and medical assistants and even more impressed when I met Dr. Gildersleeve, whose bedside manner was beyond compare. Dr. Gildersleeve gently handled my anxiety of my worst case scenario thoughts of having cervical cancer. He assured me that we would properly address my concerns. Because of my anxiety during an internal exam, Dr. Gildersleeve sent me to his Windham office a few days later for an internal scanning of my uterus. Mary, the radiologist was kind, gentle and reassuring, as she performed the procedure. Most surprising was the call I received from Dr. Gildersleeve hours after the procedure to see how I was doing. A few weeks later, I had minor surgery at Windham Hospital that resulted in the successful removal of a fibroid that was pressed against my uterus that was causing the bleeding. I was impressed with the follow-up visit with Dr. Gildersleeve as well. The bottom line is that when I first encountered this medical dilemma, I just knew I was going to Yale to have this matter addressed. However today, I am so glad that I stumbled upon Dr. Gildersleeve's Mansfield OBGYN offices in Hebron and Mansfield whom I believe provided me with medical care that was just as good, in fact, even better care that I would have received at Yale. I highly recommend Dr. Gildersleeve and the Mansfield OBGYN, Hebron/Mansfield to address your feminine medical issues. The overall bedside manner of Dr. Gildersleeve and staff is phenomenal and I assure you, you will not be disappointed. Sincerely Submitted, Laura Lillian Best Norwich, CT

Karla was another exeption nurse with a wonderful sense of humor. Abbey was also exceptional in every way. I wish I could remember every name that made this stay so memorable. I can't say enough about sweet Caesar and Morgan. I didn't know care like this existed anymore. I wish I could recall the name of the lovely woman that came to my bedside and offered daily meal choices. The doctor listened closely to my concerns, the physical therapist . Just the best! all the best to these caregivers and many many thanks!

However it was a slog to get people in and out. Many people were sitting for much longer than we were and still those people were not seen by the time I left. The staff really had no empathy with all those who came up to the window to ask how much longer. More like programmed speech. Some just didn't have any personality at all which made you wonder why they were in the health industry to begin with. I'm not sure if they were short handed but we sat there for three hours til we finally had enough of waiting and just left. Now I've been to this hospital before and normally they are top notch. I would ask them to do a better job for next time.
