I've been using this dry cleaner for years. The staff is friendly, the prices are fair and the quality of the work is fantastic!

Check my review history, I respect business owners who aren't scumbags too much to ever "hate" on a…read morebusiness. Oceana is run by John. Ask for him by name. The first couple of times we used their fluff and fold service it was decent enough, other than getting a random extra pair of boxers that weren't mine and a couple of other peoples t-shirts... The last time we used them, they gave us back thrift store clothes and kept our actual clothes... John, the owner shared with me he had continued to employ a drug addict who has done this before. He was so sorry and embarrassed and wanted to know how to make it right for us... We agreed that we'd try to asses the value of what we lost and let John know. This was an amicable enough call. He seemed dejected and sad but expressed a desire to make it right. Fast forward two months now and John and his wife Kelly have patronized and attempted to pacify me multiple times with multiple excuses on why they weren't honoring John's own request to compensate us for our losses. Neither has even offered a refund. It's hard to tell fact from fiction, but it is clear their goal is to brush losing $750 worth of my wardrobe under the rug. I've waited over two months for compensation, and even offered a reduced settlement price as an olive branch to show I recognize running a business can be costly and difficult. The staff all seem to say the same things about John and Kelly, they are rude and short with people and try to undercut pay and etc. It shouldn't be a surprise that after the business makes a mistake they accept zero accountability and word for word today told me: "What are you going to do, sue us for $750? Go ahead!" Okay. ‍ Needless to say, I don't think people like them should be able to be in charge of other people's careers let alone run a business. Avoid at all costs.

When I dropped off my dress, I told her I was perfectly happy with a simple hem. To my surprise, she went above and beyond and preserved the unique pattern along the bottom of the dress instead of just shortening it. She didn't have to do that, but she wanted the dress to look its best and it really showed. That extra touch made me think, "Wow, she truly cares about making her customers look and feel great." It's rare to find someone who takes that much pride in their work. On top of that, she finished the alterations ahead of schedule so I could have my dress ready for an upcoming trip. I really appreciated both the craftsmanship and the excellent customer service.

After three separate incidents where my clothing was damaged and no responsibility was taken, I can no longer recommend this business. First incident: I brought in two brand-new Dixon shirts to be dry cleaned and pressed. When I picked them up, both collars were damaged and the color had faded. Rather than acknowledging the damage, Sean blamed the shirt material and suggested I contact Dixon. His response was that he would even explain their process to Dixon. Fortunately, Dixon stood behind their product and provided me with a full refund. Second incident: I brought in six pairs of my Levi's cargo shorts (approximately $60 each) to be dry cleaned and pressed. Every pair came back with damaged snap buttons that no longer worked properly. I brought the issue to Sean's attention, but once again there was no accountability. Instead, I was given another explanation of their pressing process. I reminded him that I have never washed or pressed these shorts myself--they have always been professionally cleaned by his business. Nothing was done to correct the damage or make the situation right. Because I genuinely liked Sean and his family, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Third and final incident: I purchased seven brand-new pairs of the exact same Levi's cargo shorts. Before leaving three pairs with Sean, I specifically asked him to inspect the buttons because of the previous issue. He confirmed they were all in perfect condition. When I picked them up, one pair had the exact same button damage. This time, instead of apologizing or offering a solution, Sean spoke with his mother and then told me they would no longer press my shorts because they were afraid they would damage them again. That response was unacceptable. The problem is not my shorts--it is the process being used to press them. Rather than correcting the process, repairing the damage, or standing behind the service they provide, the solution was simply to refuse future business. After damaging hundreds of dollars' worth of my clothing over multiple visits, no effort was made to repair the damage, replace the items, compensate me, or retain me as a customer. Mistakes happen in every business. What separates a great business from an average one is how they respond when they make those mistakes. Unfortunately, accountability was consistently replaced with excuses. If you choose to bring your clothing here, understand that you may be doing so at your own risk. If your garments are damaged, don't expect ownership of the problem or a meaningful effort to make things right. Sean, if you choose to respond to this review, I hope you publicly address the real issue: accountability. You allowed a loyal customer to walk away after three separate incidents without making any attempt to resolve the situation or preserve the relationship. That speaks louder than any explanation of your process ever could.

As I started loading things into the dryer, I was asked to remove them by the owner. Because the rule is you have to use BOTH washer & dryer. You can't use the dryer only. The owner wanted me to rewash my clothes & then use the dryer. This is so controlling. After reviewing Richard's comment, I'd like to keep my review of ZERO stars for lack of customer service. When someone is dealing with hard ship & will have to pay to get that fixed. And now the owner wants me to spend more time at 8pm and more money to re wash my clothes, because they are a "Full Service" laundromat. They are not washing or drying clothes for you. Other laundromats aren't like this. First time I've ever heard this rule. Even if it's a policy, it's my first time there, let me Dry my clothes this first time. Now I will never go back and don't ever recommend someone to go there. I went to the El Camino Coin Laundromat in Oceanside. It was so peaceful & I felt safe there. I recommend going there for better service. You are in & out. No one bothers you.
