I brought two old short sleeve shirts in for very small repairs but the owner grimaced and remarked…read moreabout how horribly they were damaged. "How did this ever happen??!", noticing a buttonhole that needed a small amount of repair. She automatically took the shirts and hung them up on her to-do rack making it somewhat uncomfortable for me to say thanks, but no thanks. It was then I wanted to know how much the bill would be, and she replied $24. I then grabbed the shirts off of her rack and bid her a good day. I have seen this same tactic used at different types of repair shops where the owner overly dramatizes what needs to be done and takes possession of the item prior to discussing the charge or getting approval. In sales that's called the assumptive close, where they act as though they assume you will approve the work and pay their price for the very minimal effort required. Don't fall for it. I have just now received a response from the lady's husband indicating that I must have visited a different shop and mistakenly thought I was in theirs. Absolutely not possible as I've been in several times in the past. Perhaps showing the shirts will refresh her memory and also defend my own. For full disclosure, the green shirt does have a small half-inch rip on the back side.

When someone is dealing with hard ship & will have to pay to get that fixed. And now the owner wants me to spend more time at 8pm and more money to re wash my clothes, because they are a "Full Service" laundromat. They are not washing or drying clothes for you. Other laundromats aren't like this. First time I've ever heard this rule. Even if it's a policy, it's my first time there, let me Dry my clothes this first time. Now I will never go back and don't ever recommend someone to go there. I went to the El Camino Coin Laundromat in Oceanside. It was so peaceful & I felt safe there. I recommend going there for better service. You are in & out. No one bothers you.

I frequent base a lot and at first, when I called the Dry cleaners in Camp Pendleton I got a young girl who answered the phone and was not familiar with pricing. Then I proceeded to ask her where she was located and she said Mainside. So I assumed it was over by the San Luis Rey gate and just verified if that is the same location because everything on base is now changing. She said she has no idea where PMO is, 13 area is (13 area pool) and she referred me all the way to San Onofre! (Hello, lady I am by San Luis Rey gate!!) So I just decided to take a drive over to the old "mainside" in 13 area. Glad I stopped in! I spoke to a older gentleman and he is very polite. I spoke to him regarding the bad customer service I received because I thought he owned both cleaners (the cleaners near San Luis Rey and the opposite side where the Commissary is at and MCX. He assured me they are owned by MCX whereas, the dry cleaners in 13 area is independently owned (or something of that sort). Either way, I will continue to patronize the 13 area location for their outstanding customer service, and the fact they were able to take out a very bad stain out my dress I dropped off. I can't speak to the fact of their timeliness since I was in no rush to get it back but, they do offer a faster service of course for a steeper price. I tend to not procrastinate and just drop it off in plenty of time to not pay those extra fees. Thank you, sir! =)
