I decided I wanted a wedding video a month prior to the wedding. We did not have a budget for it, but I was willing to do anything to have our special day captured. When I started my search, I was looking for the cheapest person I could find to simply record the ceremony. My fiancée, on the other hand, could not accept anything less than a professional videographer, but did not want to get in a $3k debt for it. I was in a hard place... When we started watching the videos of the professional videographers we loved it, but every time I asked the price it was either too much or they were booked for our date. Dove Weddings was the vendor with the highest ratings and number of reviews on the wedding sites I was looking at, so I decided to ask for a quote just to try (my hope never ends). Jason was quick to reply and said that my date was still available. He seemed really eager to talk to us, which separated him from the rest of the vendors who either took forever to reply to an email, or were just very short in their responses. Today I'm very thankful that Jason insisted on having (not just a call but...) a Face time call. We connected with him right away! And we could feel he genuinely cared about the couples he works for. During the call, he was very through in explaining everything that they do from start to end. That increased our confidence and trust in him even more. Not to mention, he helped us see the value of his service and worked with our finance limitation. Jason's price is fairer than the competition but the quality is just as great! Even though we didn't have a budget for it, we decided that it would be worth it to get a small loan for a video that we would be proud to share with our friends and family and to watch together and reminisce in the years to come. The day of the wedding, one of his trusted and professional videographers, Dustin, came to the hotel. He was on time and very professional. He made us (girls) feel very comfortable and respected. Especially during intimate times, or "breakdown" moments, he was always discreet and reserved. (I appreciate that very much). He was present in the most important moments, never inconvenient or disturbing - In fact, we almost didn't notice his presence at times. He was there until very late in the reception (which surprised me - I said "He's still here?"). I haven't received the video, and Jason told me it normally takes about 12 weeks to get it back as the editing process is what takes the longest. We understand, as we have both had some experience with editing, but we look forward to seeing the amazing work we're going to receive! :) I'll sure add to this review or write another one when we get it! read more

We picked Dove Weddings after watching multiple videos on their website and being continually impressed with the quality and how they seemed to tell a short story in every wedding video. After meeting with several other videographers, we finally met with Jason and Lisa. We felt that they would be able to capture our wedding day with authenticity and beauty. They asked us questions about our personality and were genuinely determined to make our dream of what our wedding day would be like, become a reality. The couple was very accommodating to our needs and wishes and on the wedding day did a great job of making us feel special and excited! I actually arrived about an hour later to the venue then I had originally planned and lost some time with the videographers and photographers because of it, but when I arrived Jason calmed me down and assured me I could take my time writing my vows (they were on my phone but I wanted them on paper!). He even used this as an opportunity to take some beautiful pictures of me writing the vows and a letter to my future husband. =) Once the ceremony started Jason and his team did an amazing job of taking pictures and video without us feeling claustrophobic or any amount of pressure/stress! We received our Dove Weddings highlight reel five months after our wedding. It was well done, but the customer service isn't what I expected. I just want to recount my experience, and you can make your judgement. If anyone had this sort of experience prior to mine, I would have liked to have known. I inquired about a wedding video several months before our wedding. When I was given pricing, I let the company know it was over our budget. In response to that, I was encouraged to purchase a custom, discounted package. I happily obliged, impressed that he was being so flexible to my needs. It had been settled. One shooter, highlight reel, travel time: $2,745.00 Everything went smoothly until a few days before the wedding when I was asked to pay more money for a second shooter. I told him that there wasn't any way I could afford the extra cost. Feeling manipulated and completely stressed RIGHT before my wedding, I became a little worried that a professional in the wedding business would think it was appropriate to nickle and dime me when the big day was quickly approaching. He ended up telling me he'd take a second shooter as a gift to me, who ended up being his wife. Soon after, I sent a detailed timeline to all my vendors so we'd all be on the same page about what was happening when. In response, the owner asked me to change around my gift-swap, which had already been carefully planned due to some other obligations on my end. I told him I couldn't change my timeline. Once again, manipulated and stressed. The morning of my wedding, I received several texts asking my whereabouts, details about the day and again if I could change my schedule. In addition, my finace received a phone call two hours before the agreed time to meet and had to skip breakfast with his best man to begin filming in the area where our wedding was to be held. Throughout the pre-ceremony activities, I was completely aware and uncomfortably reminded that the videographers were there. I realize some videographers blend into the background of scenes so that you don't notice them, and some, well don't. The style of Jason and his wife is to artificially reenact tender moments and place you in certain scenes in order to get a good story-telling perspective. If I had realized this, I would have gone with a different type/style of videographer. I say this because it took away from me living in the moment of the day and instead responding to their requests in order to get a good shot. I understand that they need to go home with good footage and this might just be an experience I hadn't had before. We had a plan to have our toasts be given near our sweetheart table. Jason wanted my dad center stage so that he could have a spotlight, better footage for the video. None of my dad's toast ended up in the video. Throughout the night, there were several more instances where we were interrupted to adjust the night's schedule to make it easier on the videograghers. Following the wedding, I sent a few emails asking if he needed anything from us. I was told, again, I could pay extra if I wanted a 60-90 second teaser and that basic economics should tell me that the discounted pricing would mean slower turn around time for the film. My film was given to me five months after the wedding and at exactly 3 minutes, not a second over. I feel a bit like I was punished for accepting a discounted price and for not being an overly accommodating bride. I understand wedding planning and all that comes with it is a unique experience and is different for everyone. I understand one opinion doesn't trump them all. I just needed to lay out the facts and the details of the experience to another possible bride out there who might be looking for a pleasant videographer experience where she feels she can still run the show and not have to worry about making accommodations for her vendor. read more

This Dove duo was an absolute delight to work with! Call to all South Asian brides out there - Dove kept up the pace with our multiple, back-to-back events. If there was a photo to be captured, they were there ready to go with their stealth while respecting our families and our culture. They were always one step ahead scoping out amazing scenery and the most beautiful lighting. The best part - not only did they work well with all of our other vendors, but our guests and families enjoyed their presence too! By the end of the weekend, they were like our family! Jason and his wife seemed so nice and that's why we partnered with them. They SEEMED genuine. We thought we were getting a good deal by bundling photo and video. Long story short, he added on so many extra fees! He charged us to provide digital copies of photos. In addition he offered two levels; medium resi or high resi. When I asked all of my friends who had gotten married no one even knew what medium resi was. He was basically trying to charge us extra on every angle. In the end we paid and extra $800 for digital copies of photos, they did not online host for our family / friends to view, and we ended up paying more had we gone with the photographer that did our engagement photos (much better quality). Lastly they took forever to give us ANY photos. OVER 6 months. We got married in October and had hoped to send a wedding photo as a holiday card. He tried to charge us for this too! Crazy experience. My purpose in this is not to "trash" Jason and Lisa but to make other couples aware. Had I known, I would have taken my business elsewhere. read more

Jason and his Dove Weddings crew did an awesome job capturing our wedding on a rainy day in October.  We had them do our photo and video, and we couldn't be happier. My wife and I spent countless hours going thru all the different vendors we found online and via friends' suggestions, but time and time again we ended up with Dove Weddings on top. When we finally made the decision to go with Dove Weddings,  Jason explained everything and made a package especially catered for us and our budget. We had a couple of video calls with them via Hangouts, as ours was a destination wedding for them to come to SF.  We finally met Jason on our wedding day and he made sure that they were here for us, which made everything even better because of all the wedding day stress we were already dealing with. Wedding day itself as everyone knows is a blur, posing and staging ourselves for the pictures and scenes Jason and his team wanted was easy and natural. Jason even stayed an extra day to film San Francisco landmarks. My wife and I couldnt be more happier when we saw the teaser video before our hotel checkout!  We highly recommend Dove Weddings!! We used Dove Weddings for our wedding film on June 05, 2016. I highly recommend Dove Weddings to any bride or groom, they are truly talented filmmakers, my husband and I are so happy we made them a part of our special day. We got married in Temecula, CA at a beautiful vineyard called Villa De Amore. At the beginning of our wedding planning process my fiancé (husband now) and I were not sure if we wanted a wedding video, however after talking to our friends and family they advised us that this was a MUST. When we made this decision it was about 5 months prior to our wedding date, so I started to research, I looked at over 50 videographers, I watched videos from each of them, I compared pricing, I read reviews, and I narrowed it down to my top 4. From there we got to know each videographer to see if they would be the right fit for us and after meeting Jason and his wife there was no question that we wanted Dove Weddings to tell our love story. From our initial Skype meeting to the day of our wedding and after, Jason and his team were friendly, easy to work with, professional, honest, made my husband and I feel comfortable throughout the day of the wedding and always made us feel like we were in trusted hands. We can not emphasize enough how happy we are that we chose Dove Weddings for our photography and videography team. Planning an entire wedding from Afghanistan over the course of a year, the Dove Wedding team was responsive and professional from the start. While none of us had ever been to the ceremony or reception venue in West Virginia, the team was very easy to work with and made sure to work with all of our requests, even last minute ones. We hired two photographers and one videographer, and it was the best decision we could have made to capture a truly perfect day. Based on friends and family advice, we made sure not to skimp on the photography for our wedding day. While Dove Weddings is a higher cost bracket, it was 100% worth the splurge. We went without a flower vendor and over the top decorations in favor of Dove Weddings, and we are so happy we did. Their dedication to their work and making sure they captured the essence of the day, and the gathering of family and friends, will allow us to go back to this day for many many years to come. The largest benefit of choosing this team was the subtlety in their work. They felt like part of the wedding and blended in with the festivities. We never had to worry about them fighting over space to capture the moments they were going after. We feel like we left the wedding with three more friends in Jason, Lisa, and Daniel. Dove Weddings was worth every penny, and our wedding day would not have been as perfect as it was without them as part of it. FANTASTIC! INCREDIBLE! MUST HAVE. Jason and Lisa are a total power couple. They have such a high demand since their services are TOP NOTCH in the industry, but both don't lack an ounce of excitement and passion about what they do. it's absolutely contagious. When we were planning our wedding videography was a must have, but as many brides on a budget I was worried we were unable to afford them. Jason was able to customize our package to make it work. Dove weddings is completely COMMITTED to making your day unforgettable. Lisa is so adorable, when my nerves got a hold of me prior to the ceremony Lisa was so calm she has so much compassion and truly helped me pull myself together. Jason had just gotten over a horrible flue - but his work-ethic powered him through the entire night and then some more. Since i was running late earlier in the day, i was unable to give my bridesmaids their gifts. Jason and Lisa both did not watch the clock and did whatever had to be done to capture all important moments. I can't recommend Dove Weddings enough! we cannot wait for our video to come out, I know it will be EPIC. They really know what they are doing and have state of the art equipment.They really got every little detail I told them about - We had 3 camera guys/girls and the reception was filled with guest's that it was difficult to move, however they moved like 3 ninja's in the night. When I saw the type of work that you offered in your packages from your photos to your video I knew that you were the perfect fit for me and my husband. Both of you were so flexible with me in your pricing that I booked you that same day. From the beginning I told myself that I wanted to be able to connect with the people that I had at my wedding, and I could not have asked for anyone better to photograph the happiest day of my life. It felt so natural to photograph with the both of you. It was almost as if two of my family members were taking the pictures because of the amazing connection that I have with you both.
