Great service! Friendly and quick to help us. She gave us suggestions too. There is a life size chess board. The bathrooms were clean! The prices were reasonable too. Nice patio with a breeze and shaded areas.

One of the best tasting room views in the valley!

They have succeeded in creating the perfect vibe for a local winery - elegant without pretension, welcoming. We loved their holiday event in December 2024 and will come back in the future, hopefully for another event. Stunning views of local mountains and grape growing. Excellent staff. Dog friendly.

A Santa Ynez Valley -Los Olivos gem! This is our 2nd time with Zaca Mesa Winery and each time is always memorable. The setting is so calm and relaxed, and the tasting flights (incl. reserve) were outstanding--a thoughtfully curated lineup that really highlight the depth and character of their wines. Each pour offered something unique, from elegant aromatics to beautifully balanced flavors that truly reflect the region. What made the visit especially exceptional was the service. Karen, the wine curator, was always so wonderful on both occasions. From the moment we started our tasting, she made the experience feel welcoming and personalized. Karen took the time to walk us through each wine, shared great insights about the selections, and patiently answered our questions. Her enthusiasm and expertise made the tasting both informative and fun. When it came time to choose wines to take home, Karen's recommendations were spot-on and she helped guide us through the options without any pressure and provided their wonderful promotion. It's clear she genuinely cares about making sure guests leave with wines they'll love. Between the beautiful setting, excellent tasting flight, and Karen's exceptional hospitality, Zaca Mesa delivered a top-tier wine tasting experience. If you're exploring Santa Ynez wine country, this winery absolutely deserves a spot on your list. We're already looking forward to coming back as a Zaca Mesa member! Lastly, they are a dog friendly establishment. Our pups get excited as evidenced with their friendly barks and they love to do their smelfari sniffs around the outside area.

Alastair serviced our table today. Very nice man, very knowledge on the wines they offer and wine in general. Would love to come back and see him again. Thank you and if anyone was considering, please come to Zaca Mesa!

We signed up for Sip and Paint event with my cousins at Zaca last Sunday. Basically you get a glass of wine and some painting supplies, an art instructor walks you through the steps of painting a picture for $45. We had a lot of fun painting and drinking wine. Their Viognier is pretty good, we ended up getting a few bottles to go. Beautiful grounds and outdoor tasting area. Unfriendly staff (makes this place a 4 star) Customer service makes or breaks the experience. Will keep Zaca Mesa in my bookmarks for future visits to the wine country.

This is my friend's fave winery. Came for the annual Black Bear Dinner, this year being the 50th! Very pretty set up, looked like a wedding dinner. The food was good/fine. It could have used more salt/gravy, but the food was catered by a different company. Would come here again in a few years for another Black Bear Dinner. I've also been here for a wine tasting, but it was to hang out with my friends since I don't drink. It's the last winery of the "row." Staff at winery were very nice, friendly, attentive, and helpful.

Ahh made it, time to relax!

First time here. Rachel and Austin were so personable and friendly. Rachel could have a podcast of wine stories that you could push play and fall asleep to. She tells stories with so much passion, we just had to buy half a case of wine. Try to get the reservation on the terrace under an umbrella. It's so peaceful and the view takes all your cares away! We highly recommend for the wine, service, and ambiance!

***4.5 stars rounded up*** Zaca Mesa Winery was our second stop this past Sunday and it did not disappoint! In fact, we all had a really great time here. I was excited to hear that they specialize in Syrah, and even more excited to hear that it happened to be National Syrah Day and they were celebrating with a Syrah tasting of 5 for $25. I couldn't actually verify if it was Syrah Day or not, or whether they always have a Syrah tasting for $25, but the marketing got me. What can I say? I was feeling good. While wine tasting, we enjoyed both the inside and outside areas. They had a corn hole game set up outside that we played for a while. Service was quick and friendly. It wasn't crowded at all, which was nice. Prices are in line with other wineries in the area, and I particularly enjoyed the decor and ambiance at this winery. Overall, I thought the wines were good, but perhaps not as impressive as I was hoping. A couple of the Syrahs were forgettable, while a few of them were very delicious.

Dex with our great server Summer.

It was the first of five tastings we did during our weekend in town, and the wines were, admittedly, the least impressive. They went down easy, though, and we had a pleasant visit. We checked into our hotel on Friday around 5:30 and quickly realized that all the wineries on our list were closed. We asked the receptionist where we might be able to do a tasting, and she said Carhartt was our best bet. It was quite open when we walked in, almost intimidatingly so, the live music loud as we rounded the sidewalk outside the enclosed patio. Jack welcomed us into the tasting room and suggested we do a vibe check on the patio before deciding where to sit. We peeked outside and it seemed fun in a way we weren't looking for, a bit of a party atmosphere with a live band and a lot of people. We took our seats in the quieter tasting room, where we were able to enjoy the music from a distance while we drank some wine. We both did the house tasting, which came with five pours of Carhartt wines: the 2024 Top Branch, the 2022 Sin Nada, the 2022 Sangiovese, the 2022 Rebel Roan, and the 2020 Northerly. Jack also gave us a taste of the 2021 Graciano. They were all nice wines, but we particularly liked the Sin Nada, the Sangiovese, and the Graciano, and took home two bottles of each, getting one $25 tasting fee waived with each purchase of three bottles. Jack was a great host, and he told us all about the wines and winery as we went along. (He pre-empted our first question, saying that yes, they were the same Carhartts as the Carhartt clothing label, but not the same company. I guess just the classic generational wealth to winemaking pipeline.) It was a helpful introduction to both the Carhartt wines and Los Olivos, and Jack was good company. I said Carhartt was the least impressive of the wineries we visited, but it's also worth noting that it had the lowest price point. Carhartt isn't gunning for Robert Parker ratings. The wines are accessible and tasty, and I have a feeling we'll go through our bottles very fast.

Glad we added it to the itinerary. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon. The olive oil tasting farm is located in a nice neighborhood area in downtown Los Olivos. There is parking accessible in the back parking lot and limited parking next to the olive oil tasting area and boutique shop. As soon as we parked and headed to the olive oil tasting area, we were greeted by a very friendly and hospitable staff member. I appreciated all the information she told us about the property and instructions about the olive oil tasting experience. Their complimentary olive oil tasting was unique and unlike any other olive oil tasting I had ever done before. There were 10 different olive oils to taste from. You are given a freshly made sourdough bread slice to go along with a tray with a menu sheet of all the olive oils. Some of the olive oils that stood out to me were the white truffle, garlic, and Italian honey. We were then encouraged to explore the rest of the property where there was a charcuterie cart, pottery vendor, and complimentary wine tasting on the other side of the premises. This enhanced our olive oil tasting experience even more. The rest of the property was beautiful as there were a lot of tables and chairs for guests to enjoy. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Olive + Lavender Farms. The staff were nice and accommodating. The vibe was relaxing and inviting. The boutique shop were selling a lot of wonderful and distinctive local products in the area. The olive oils price point are in the higher end. Next time we are in the area we would love to come back.

The place is casual and not tiny, but it definitely fills up. I don't think they were taking walk-ins while we were there. The tasting room--or tasting patio, I suppose--was really pleasant, a breezy outdoor space in front of a charming brick-red house with a strong Los Olivos aesthetic. My only complaint is that the bathroom was a porta-potty, though it was the nice kind, with running water. We got our own table and a friendly, knowledgeable young server brought us our wines and explained what we were drinking. He was busy, so this was one of the less in-depth tastings we did on this trip, but the experience was easy and enjoyable. There were two tastings on offer, the classic estate flight and the "fresh and esoteric." Since this was our first visit, we both went with the estate, and it was a great introduction to Stolpman's wines. We tried the 2025 Sauvignon Blanc, the 2024 Chenin Blanc, the 2024 La Cuadrilla, the 2023 Sangiovese, and the 2024 Angeli, the label's flagship Syrah. They were all excellent and very well priced--the Cuadrilla goes for $26. It's also a delicious wine with a cool provenance, a red blend made by Stolpman's vineyard workers on a designated block, in what looks to be a successful profit sharing project. The tasting fee was $25, waived with a three-bottle purchase. We snapped up three each of the Sauvignon Blanc and the Sangiovese, which cost $24 and $36 a bottle. Tremendous value for such outstanding wines. I have a feeling we'll go through these quickly, and may be tempted to join the wine club if we do. Either way, though, I hope to go back to Stolpman. I'm definitely curious about that second tasting.

I'm a huge wine nerd, so I tend to ask a lot of questions, usually because I'm genuinely excited about what's in the glass. Most people probably wouldn't care about that level of detail, but for me it made the experience that much better. It was a pretty slow day when we visited, so we were able to have a really personal tasting experience, which is always my favorite. If the room had been packed, I'm sure the interaction would have been different, but that's not a knock on them at all. We just got lucky with the timing. The tasting room itself isn't doing anything wildly unique, but honestly, who cares when the wines are this good?
