I paid performance transmission $5000 to put in a transmission that was rebuilt in my 2016 Dodge…read moreCaravan RT. I've taken great care with this car to keep it in condition. When I was leading the transmission shop, I noticed there was a slap as you came to a stop. I immediately took it back the next day. And I was told it was my back motor mount on top of my transmission. That it was hard to get to. And I was told it would be another $300 but I didn't have since I had just borrowed myself up to my eyeballs to get transmission. Before he agreed to turn this back in on the warranty, I was forced to change motor mounts and redo my brakes. I would've done the brakes anyway so I don't count that one, but I wouldn't have had that by that motor mount. And I wouldn't have had to pay that money to put it on. I told him from the beginning I believed it was the transmission. What really got me was after I put the motor mount on and did the brakes and it was still slapping and getting worse at that point, he tried to tell me it was normal for those transmissions. The slapping was so bad I would not have been able to resell the machine for any kind of money. I still owe 3000 on the transmission. And I owe another 6000 on the van. After putting in the transmission again, the new one drives perfectly no slapping at all. This is the way a transmission should work. The fact that he tried to get me to believe that it was normal for that transmission to act like that after replacing the motor mount and fixing the brakes did not lead me with a good feeling that's why I'm only giving him three out of five stars. The work done is done right now, and the transmission drives flawlessly. Just wish I hadn't had to jump through so many hoops and lose the $300 to make him admit it with the transmission.
