The worst car buying experience of my life. This dealer sold me a lemon buy back vehicle / calling it a 'reacquired' vehicle. They did not explain or disclose that a 'reacquired' car is considered a lemon buy back by the rest of the auto industry and will be devalued by buyers and dealers everywhere for the life of the vehicle. I was not happy almost immediately with the vehicle and wanted to undo the deal and get my trade in returned. They refused to undo the deal and try to extort a vast amount of money from me to return my trade in. I refused to pay the ridiculous amount . I took the purchased vehicle to 3 different dealers to attempt to trade it , only to have all of them call it a lemon buy back vehicle. One dealer would not even take the vehicle, the other two discounted the value by $8000 to $9000 . Beware of this dealer using semantics to sell these 'lemon buy backs as reacquired ' vehicles without telling buyers the truth about their diminished value going forward - completely dishonest ! read more

Service department can't handle high dollar trucks or equipment.. scary! Scheduled an appointment for oil change + tire rotation on a brand new 2022 1500 6.2L as i have reward points & get it free. I received a message from service department stating my chosen time had been spoken for and my appointment had been moved to 11:30. This message said nothing about how they won't rotate tires (But there is a note about it in their system, according to the manager) So I reschedule my jobs, I drive 30 minutes out of my way to bob grimm. I arrive and that's when they advise me they won't rotate my tires, because they DONT WANT THE LIABILITY OF DAMAGING THE WHEELS! Absolutely laughable.. So I guess I won't take the liability of walking in your doors ever again. WHY you may ask? They attempted to rotate the tires when the truck was getting its very first oil change(also free). Little to my knowledge, the tire shop I got my wheels from accidentally cross threaded one lug nut. No big deal, right? Wrong. The 2 kids in the lube shop could not get the nut off, I had to laugh it off and go out and show them what was wrong! Yes, I walked out in the shop after hearing the impact going constantly for probably 10 minutes. They just kept trying.. and trying... I said "you obviously need to use a breaker bar" and they did not even have one.. Wow. I told them i'll back my truck out and bust the lug off with my tools right now.. Nope can't do that either.. So they start putting all the lug nuts on as they're just going to give up. LOL! Now that i knew this problem, I said I am not leaving with my truck like this.. I am at the service department.. FIX IT PLEASE! So finally they called around and found a stud and replaced it for me the next day. If I didn't plead & then demand for this to happen, it never would have. Ive taken my Chevy truck there multiple times over the last several years because its close to out home. Every time I have been shocked and/or dismayed at how bad the service is. They never have parts, never have enough technicians, Ive seen service techs argue and fight in front of customers. They constantly claim they either can't replicate or dont have the parts when you have a maintenance issue. Ive stood in line and listened to customers complain with similar issues. They never have the same folks working so high turnover should of been my first clue. Most service takes several days or weeks unless you get an oil change. Whenever Ive had an issue, they always have some ridiculous excuse. I honestly dont know how they stay open. I will never be bringing a vehicle back there. Its worth the extra drive time to Bloomington or Pekin. I have a ford for my work car, and have never had it at that dealership for more then a day tops. Expect weeks for a maintenance appointment - not days - WEEKS, so if you actually need your car, don't waste your time. A critical requirement of car repair is trust, but when the service department intentionally refuses to answer questions honestly, or make any effort to make repairs in a timely or responsible manner. Their attitude toward customer service is embarrassingly pathetic. Do not waste your money on their overpriced bad service. Update: I find it humorous that Chuck H, who claims to be the owner, responded concerning a conversation of which he was not a party, and did not bother to speak with a rightly dissatisfied long time customer. Clearly proof of the poor service you can not only expect, but will then be defended. Upset yes! Because the employee repeatedly lied and refused to answer simple questions. Example: Did you bother to check with other Chevy dealers in the area for a common part on EVERY Chevrolet? Are you telling me this part does not exist anywhere in Illinois? Are you telling me when you ordered the part from Chicago, and promised it on Monday, they didn't bother to tell you they did not have one? btw I looked for Chevy parts on Amazon, and they had Chevy parts. The truth is, I was without a car for days, with no honest decent effort to find and replace the part - poor customer service. I called them on it and clearly Chuck is okay with bad customer service! I'd give 10 stars if I could! My husband & I had to take a trip from NW Montana to Bloomington, IL. Our 2001 GMC Duramax Diesel began having transmission issues on the way to Bloomington. Tried to get it fixed there, but people weren't very helpful. As the problem was intermittent, we decided to begin our trip back, and if it happened again, we would find a dealer on the way. Sure enough, within 10 mins being on the highway, it happened again. I checked dealers in the Peoria area, and this one had the best ratings, and with good reason. They helped to diagnose the problem, and got it fixed in about an. hour! Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, and everyone came over and wished us a safe trip home. I bought a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu less than 2 years ago. The car has been in the shop close to 18 times and I have been asking Bob Grimm to get me out of this vehicle. They said oh yes we can help you. Then when it came down to it, NUMEROUS times they said just give us a few more thousand dollars down and we can get you into the same type of car or we can make your payment higher with this car with more mileage or a cheaper car. I was even threatened by the owner if i went over his head that he wouldn't help and he was going to make sure of that. I called GM and it finally came down to Bob Grimm telling GM that, yes we gave him a chance for a buy back with trade. Yeah trade in for a junkier car with more mileage. I will NEVER EVER EVER buy a vehicle from them and people have asked about where to buy and I told them to stay far away from that dealership. I even had numerous problems with the service department. I have had it in for numerous noises and the car shutting off. I even had the service guy go with me and he got the noise and shaking and I got the car back a week later and told me nothing was wrong and they never found the problem.
