After walking around the arts district and passing this shop, I decided to get a piece of flash as a souvenir. I have a custom tattoo from my last trip to Vegas that I love, but I wanted something quicker and just fun. Byron was quiet but helpful and professional. I trusted him with exact placement after giving him a general idea. He walked me through the pricing and I felt it was fair for the piece and placement. He got to work quickly and efficiently. After a few minutes I think we both warmed up and he was super nice and easy to talk to. My tattoo is healing perfectly a week later (see pic) and looks great! Update after owner reply: We asked about multiple piercings, and when Wes explained that he did not perform dermals, we completely respected that and had no issue with it. At no point were we told that dermals were "prohibited." There is a significant difference between a service simply not being offered and being told that something is prohibited. It was also very clear from the interaction that there was a lack of willingness to assist. As for the implication that I was trying to "shield" photos, that makes absolutely no sense. These are pictures I intentionally posted publicly on social media. There was nothing to hide. Regarding the jewelry, you did not "upgrade" my jewelry. You initially forgot to charge me for having it made gold. I was the one who reminded you of the charge. Because you did not want to process another transaction, you ultimately told me it was fine. Those are two very different things. What is most concerning is the response to even semi-negative reviews. Rather than acknowledging legitimate feedback, the tone comes across as dismissive and unwilling to accept any constructive criticism. A business should be able to hear feedback, even when it isn't flattering, without becoming defensive. We will happily be finding a new piercing home, one that welcomes and respects all walks of life and can accept constructive feedback professionally! My sister and I decided to have a girls' day and ended up visiting this piercing and tattoo shop downtown. There is quite a bit of construction in the area, which made getting to the parking lot a little difficult, but as locals, we completely understand that this is sometimes unavoidable and it wasn't an issue for us. Unfortunately, our experience inside the shop was less positive. When we first walked in, we received very little acknowledgment and did not feel particularly welcomed. I recognized the owner from social media and noticed her sitting on a couch in the studio working on a project. A male employee eventually asked how he could assist us, but his overall demeanor came across as noticeably unwelcoming. I was interested in getting a Medusa piercing and had a few reasonable questions about how it might work with my anatomy. I also asked if I could see the specific jewelry I would be pierced with because I wanted to make sure the size and style would be appropriate for my face. I had to ask several times before he brought the jewelry out for me to see. Once he did, I was actually very happy with the piece and appreciated being able to see it beforehand. My questions, however, seemed to be met with visible frustration, which made me feel uncomfortable asking for clarification about a permanent modification to my face. While he was retrieving the jewelry, my sister and I tried making conversation with the owner. We asked whether she had any suggestions for my sister, who already has several facial piercings, and what she personally thought might look cute or be popular right now. We were simply looking for her professional or personal opinion and were not asking her to create anything custom. I ultimately decided to get my piercing, and I am happy with the jewelry and the piercing itself. My sister, however, was so uncomfortable with the overall customer service that she decided not to get anything done. I also feel it is important to mention that we are both African-American women. I cannot say what anyone's intentions were, and I do not want to make an accusation that I cannot substantiate. However, throughout our visit, we both had the uncomfortable feeling that we were not particularly welcomed or that we didn't quite belong in the space. That feeling is difficult to ignore when you are spending money at a business and simply trying to feel comfortable and respected as a customer. The shop itself is very cute, hip, whimsical, and fun, and I genuinely wanted to have a great experience there. I simply wish the customer service had felt more welcoming and inclusive. I went here to purchase a new nose ring. I asked for my usual purchase, 14 karate gold. The employee kept rejecting the shape I asked for , and then showed me a much smaller one . He then went to the back and returned with it gold . I was unaware, as he did not replace it with a gold piece , but he spray painted it gold . And within hours it had tarnished . The piece looked awful, and fake immediately. So if you go here I would not allow them to go to the back with your jewelry, and let it be altered. read more

One word = JENN!!!! Ok, so Jenn came highly recommended via various FB posts regarding local piercers and so I decided with her. FROM the gate, she is just sooooo kind, so patient and so reassuring. I am someone who freaks out but will go through with it but she calmed my nerves, let me ramble, educated me on how piercings back in the day were a bit savage-like and how things have evolved. I got my conch and I'd say pain was 3-4/10. She talked me through it. I will be back for her to change the jewelry. So then I leave, contemplated some more and then came back 20 mins later and got my 2nd hole in my nose. Same thing, antsy, rambling and she was soooooo patient and gentle with me. Pain this time, maybe a 4 (compared to my original which was a frickin 7/8!) I cried after my piercing from joy because I finally had the nose piercing I was to originally have had. After being condescendingly told to take my daughter to Claire's by *the* tourist trap shop nearby, this place absolutely saved the day! They took me there on the spot. My 4 year old daughter was nervous but set on getting her ears pierced and as a mom I couldn't have asked for a better experience for my kid. She was SO patient. Explained every step to my daughter. Talked her through it, showed her the tools she uses, etc. She even quickly switched the paper towel so my daughter wouldn't see any blood (and be more scared). I wound up getting 2 more piercings too, at the request of my kid. Shop is clean and welcoming, none of that "too cool" old school vibe. She's clearly extremely talented/knowledgeable.
