Nice area but it's small. Spaces are a little tight. Lots of vendors and I even found the vendor who carries the yogurt that I enjoy.

I love this farmers market because the prices are always reasonable! I get three packs of raspberries for $12. I also get avocado honey, which is not as sweet of regular honey. Everyone at the booth is so sweet and welcoming. read more

One my favorite farmers market!! This is a good size farmers market and has everything to offer! Parking is easy in the structure across. Hasi bread was amazing! The raw honey is delicious. I also tried brothers products which had a large variety of hummus and yogurts. Their products actually give you a larger size for the same price compared to mother's products. The guy was very friendly and offered at least 10 different samples. The strawberries here were 3 baskets for $10 and super sweet! So much fun and amazing variety of vendors! read more

It's always nice to have a community farmers market which has ample parking, various vendors and comparable $. They have sweets that are gluten free in addition to all the other good stuff offered from breads to yogurts. I noticed their mixed berries are cheaper than Cerritos farmers market but you might want to keep an eye out on prices.... per lb $ amounts can add up fast when buying fruits etc. Vendors vary from time to time but regulars remain. read more

Nice mix of about 30 vendors, some prepared food ( crepes, tamales, empanadas) a couple of juice places, several honey vendors. Flowers and eggs and oddly enough several "healing crystals " vendors. Nothing fancy but everyone super friendly. Cute touch to have a tent section with tablecloth covered tables to enjoy your meals. Parking: SO easy. This is a great place to get fresh eggs, organic veggies & fruit, fresh squeezed juice, and a variety of fresh food, (so you can have lunch while walking around). There are also vendors that sell a variety of fresh honey, nuts and sweets. There are fresh flowers, crystals and incense. I've even seen clothing for dogs, and their owners as well. Most places take ATM/Credit, but some are cash only. Parking can be a little trough, but as they say, patience is a virtue. read more

Went this morning for the first time...mind u I normally go to Cerritos...but gave this one a try...it's was small and terrible...I walked to every booth in about 6-7 minutes and purchased NOTHING! They seemed to have mostly eggs and I haven't eaten eggs since I was about 8 years old because they gross me out! They did have a stand with fresh orange juice which I would normally get, but the juice area was a mess and just didn't look clean. I don't want to rip them apart. I'll just say I prefer Cerritos over this one. Left empty handed and won't be coming back. I give them 2 stars just for the effort lol read more

We come for the "Egg lady." We have been buying her eggs for like 6 years. Best eggs you will ever have. Yolks are orange. She even has Duck eggs, my favorite- sometimes. Otherwise, we enjoy the other vendors who offer seasonal fruits and vegetables. Another tip, for food: the Pupusa guy is decent and the empanda guy is also worth trying. read more

Their fruits are very delicious and have very good figs during the summer. I also enjoy that they're right next to Porto's right after picking up cake I come here to explore and buy for the week. The Downey Farmer's Market while small in vendor turnout still provides an assortment of homegrown, fresh goods & other items. My hubby & I strolled through it a year ago. I remember there being a few more vendors, I think, but this may be contingent upon the time of year. This past Saturday (9/6/14) my hubby, our two baby girls, my mom, & I decided to check it out once again. I hope that if any of the vendors ever read this - thank you! We appreciate your getting up early on what is probably a day off for you to stand out in the heat & promote your fresh baked goods, farm fresh veggies & eggs, savory fruits, sweet honey, fragrant flowers, and more. My mom bought a pack of almonds and other mixed nuts from Sweet Patty's booth. She also purchased some fig French yogurt, a small salad, & some hummus from another booth out of Glendale. I bought a small bottle of honey ($6.50) from a Downey couple. Of the 3 samples of honey, I really liked the wildflower honey the best. It rivals my favorite mountain wildflower honey brand from Durango, CO, where I used to live. I was so happy to see so many samples at the booths. My favorites to sample were the teas & the fruits (oranges & apples mainly). Not only is it nice to support these people and their small businesses, but it's also nice to get out and talk to them. We also encountered the Downey Symphony Orchestra. A nice lady described some of the upcoming opera & symphony events then gave us a brochure. I was hoping more of the local organizations of this nature would have a similar booth set up. Wells Fargo & Bank of America for sure have nearby outdoor ATMs nearby. I know there is Citibank & US Bank & a couple of smaller banks close, but I am not certain if their ATMs are easily accessible, so bring cash if you visit. Review #278 read more

I love this farmers market, the vendors and the produce are the best! The last time that we were here we noticed this tall, plus size, salt and pepper shoulder length female going around asking the vendors where they were born, I was completely in shock and felt terrible for the vendor who's stall I was in, the female had the nerve to ask him if he was from Mexico and the man said no he was from America, the man was Indian and clearly not close to being Mexican. Small, intimate farmers market that just a *just right* amount of what a farmers market should be. There are fish tacos, fresh aguas, kettle corn, pupusas, middle eastern food, & tons of fresh fruit & vegetables. There's even a cupcake & candied Apple booth! Get here early to avoid the sun & crowds. It starts to shut down around 1-2 pm. Banks are right across the street so that's convenient since its all cash only. read more

so i've been sitting on a gold mine for almost a year. Today was my first trip to this farmer's market and OMGGGG i will def be going back. Yes it's small, but it has everything you could want from a FM. Wide array of fruits, veggies, nuts, fresh herbs, flowers, eggs, chicken and food booths. There's even a wild honey stand. This market is small and intimate and not crowded. Well, i went at 9am when it opens, perhaps it gets more crowded as the day progresses. Anyways, everyone was super knowledgeable and helpful. Prices were great. The berry guy was a bit steep, $10 for three baskets of berries (strawberries, blueberries & blackberries). BUT they were delish and sweet. I think my kids took down most of them today:/ better they snack on fresh fruits and veggies than junk! i also run a food blog and all the vendors were super helpful with information about the wares and allowed me full access to the booths for photography purposes. Next time i'd like to spend more time at the grape booth and the wild apple booth. I've been wanting to make some homemade apple cider and fresh picked apples are the best for that. Found an egg booth that sells their gorgeous eggs for $5.25/20 eggs. The family raises the chickens on their property free from cages, hormones, antibiotics and corn feed. They eat fruits and veggies and chicken safe grains. They also raise turkeys. Their turkeys are now available for preorder for Thanksgiving. In addition to that they sell whole chicken, breasts, legs, wings and ground turkey & chicken. Very reasonably priced and i love that i'm supporting a local business and family. Their flower booth is pretty large and forget about it. The flowers are gorgeous and they have a really wide selection. I could have looked at them all day...and they will hand arrange them for you so that you can take them in a bouquet to someone:) long story short, you should definitely go check this place out. We got a whole case of strawberries last week and I ate about half that week and every single strawberry was sweet and delicious! Love the wheatgrass shots and the blueberries are great, too! And you can pretty much sample everything before you buy! read more

The Downey Farmers Market has great fresh finds for such a small farmers market! Fresh baked breads, pita bread, pita chips, dips, tamales, clothes (sample sales from nordstroms, only 1 or2available in each style). The main reason I came here was for the fresh eggs. $4.25 a dozen, or 30 eggs for $11. The eggs are brown and BIG! the seller told me the are free range, no antibiotics, no corn or soy feed. I asked when the eggs were laid and she said "yesterday". Wow!!! Now that's fresh!! I got 3 dozen!! Got home and made myself a sunnyside up. The yolks are oh, soooo ORANGE,!!!! That's right, ORANGE, not yellow or dark yellow. The whites are very firm and the yolk was delicious, so so creamy and rich. I absolutely love these eggs. Will definitely be back!! Is this a stellar five star farmers market that you will want to travel to from faraway? No! But is this a good little local start to some fresh grown goodness that's close & convenient for Downey residents? YES! I frequent the DFM, coming by 2-3 Saturdays a month, and I quite enjoy taking the 30 minute loop and picking up: fresh sheep's milk yogurt from Anna (5 for $20), hummus and pita bread and artichokes and olives from the Mediterranean mix & match (5 for $20), some fresh veggies, honey, sometimes fresh flowers, sometimes the fresh popped popcorn and sugared nuts, strawberries & big pink grapefruits and always overpriced $5 watermelon Aqua Fresca! Strawberries tend to rot within a few days, at the most. Otherwise, everything is always pretty fresh. Never had a problem with food borne illness, so that's all I care about when stuff is sitting out on hot Saturday afternoons!!! read more

I like coming here to get produce tomatoes, avocados, nuts, & berries. It's a small market but perfect. Snack on a shrimp taco, they're good. If you want after visiting the market you can catch a movie, the Krikorian is around the corner. Nice way to enjoy a morning/afternoon. read more

Bonjour Yogurt has a great product. At this market they are poorly represented by Jonathan. He is always late in setting up. Last Saturday it was 9:25 and his stall was unmanned and nothing was stocked. I waited 20 minutes while I watched him walking around the market visiting. I will no longer purchase products from this venue. When I informed him he told me he didn't need my attitude. Guess he doesn't need my money either. read more

The Downey Farmer's Market is a small market that serves our community well. It is a great place for local residents to get some inspiration by just walking from vendor to vendor and seeing what's in season. I enjoy talking to the vendors who are extremely friendly and approachable. The other good thing is that there are several banks and a credit union nearby so you can grab cash. read more

I come to this little Farmer's Market because I like the hours and I want to support the local growers. Prices can be good depending on who you shop from and what's in season. I have my favorite vendors though and they usually remember me. I love the many samples that each booth provides, it's a great way to "try before you buy". This farmers market keeps getting better and better! They have wonderful produce available. My favorite stand is the once that sells a variety of plums, peaches, grapes and then had a variety if seasonal fruits as well! They are always so helpful and informative and everything is certified organic whereas most of the other stands are "pesticide free". I've lately enjoyed buying citronella incense to light when outside to keep the mosquitos away. My last stop is always Alex's Flowers! Beautiful flowers for $5! Even though this is the smallest Farmer's Market I've ever been too it still stocks the essentials with a bit of flair. My favorite things to grab from here are the berries (mmmm smoothies), fresh eggs (they will make your whole fridge smell like a chicken coop - in the best way), loose leaf tea (I like to brew iced tea at home and a box of tea will last me well over a month), and flowers (they typically stay beautiful for about 2 weeks!). This is quickly becoming my new favorite Saturday activity, so relaxing to browse the stands while enjoying my coffee. A must visit if you live in the area read more

its nice to get out on a Saturday morning, but this farmer's market is practically 3 feet long from start to finish. It has some great stands like the hot dog stand that wraps they're weiners in bacon, the tamale stand(they're green chicken tamales are GREAT), alex's fruit & nuts stand(mmm veggie chips,strawberry granola and candied pecans), but the thing I ABSOLUTELY HATE, is when STUPID people bring their STUPID dogs! HELLO! Do you not see the no pets allowed sign. Nobody wants your pet around the exposed food stands. How gross. But all in all its alright. Just OK. read more

As for size, I thought that this place was average for FM's. I liked it. Vendors were helpful. Picked up some fresh basil, oregano , thyme for a dollar a bunch which I thought was a good price. Corn, three for a dollar. Fresh garlic, sweet onions, strawberry's at reasonable price. You know the standard items at FM's. Plenty of parking. I had a Greek, lamb,giro it was good but pricey at $6.00. Anyway, for my first visit I would recommend it. read more

This is my first and probably the only review I'll ever write. The one star rating is not towards the Downey Farmers Market but to the one pitiful and greedy vendor in particular, I'm not sure of the name of his farm but he's located right next to the nice lady who sells the sprouts and beans. Well, last week my wife purchased an assortment of veggies and fruits at this stand but she had accidentally forgot and left a bag with passion fruit that was for only $3.00 there, no biggie but by the time she realized it the market had been closed already, so this following Saturday my wife went to ask the same guy in which she purchased the $3 worth of fruit to see if maybe he'd be cool and say oh ok sorry about that I'll get you another bag or maybe cut a good deal or something, but this dude just gives her a flat out "I don't remember" mind you she's been shopping with him for quite some time and he's been cool up to now. Fair enough he probably sees a lot of customers and I can't blame him for not remembering, but really for $3?..who gives a shit give us a break! I guess this dude doesn't give a shit about being good to his customers. Well thanks for nothing and keep those three bucks, and that's the last you will be seeing us again, Mr. King of fruits! read more

Just passed through here on Saturday before heading over to the theater. They moved the farmer's market over a few streets and it seemed a little smaller than before but I think it's a better location. There are a lot of free samples and the vendors are very nice.
