Although there were options online, they all took weeks to ship. I had looked in Portland and all over the Gorge. I found what I was looking for at a fair price at Hampton's. The staff was professional and offered to deliver the piece the same day! They really went above and beyond my expectations when they moved a heavy piece of furniture to a different room to make room for the new furniture. tl;dr King size "firm" mattress bought Jan 16th, 2021, from Hampton Furniture in The Dalles now has…read morea deep depression where I lay causing low back and knee pain and lack of sleep (3.5 hrs). Wife and I were excited to replace our old memory foam mattress with a $689 Beautyrest BR800 Firm mattress (King size) -- I needed the firmness for my low back and knees since the old bed had eventually after 7 years created a depression deep enough to hurt me (I'm 6'2" at 210lbs). The first two weeks on this bed my low back pain and knee pain I would experience at night that would follow me through out the day went away -- the bed was firm and was exactly what I needed. However, entering the third week I started noticing a small depression on my side of the bed. By the beginning of the fourth week the depression was deeper and the pain in the lower back and knees had returned. I'm now in the fifth week wishing I had never bought this poorly designed low-end of a mattress. I tried going to bed around 9, positioning my body to lie around the depression while not crowding my wife's side (she is 5' and much lighter and her side of the bed is ok). The firmest part on my side of the bed is the very edge of the mattress where the seam is. I try laying half on the edge and half hanging over the edge. And while this does support my body better, I cannot hold this precarious position for long for fear of falling backwards off the mattress and onto the floor. I woke up shortly after 4am unable to fall back to sleep. I got up and stood at the foot of my bed and pushed down on the mattress with my hands where my feet rest -- firm like when we tested the bed in the store. I then moved over to where my mid section lies in the bed at night and pushed down there -- deep, yielding depression with no sense of firmness. I'm sad that after the past two years of planning and saving up money for this mattress that I threw it all away on Hampton Furniture's Beautyrest BR800 "Firm" mattress. Should I have gone to a mattress store in Portland? NOTE: We also bought two dark stained end tables the day we got the mattress. It came with embedded power strip (USB ports included) and we love how strong the wood feels, the ease of plugging in our phones at our bedside, and how handsome it looks. We recommend the tables at Hampton Furniture in The Dalles. If all we bought was the tables, we would have given this review a 5 star.

The boutique is quite large and everything is well organized in small sections with plenty of room to walk down the main aisle and around each area. The minute I walked in my eye caught a burnt orange scarf a mannequin was wearing. Immediately I took the scarf off the mannequin knowing it was actually a lace tablecloth, perfect for the fall and Thanksgiving. For $15, I didn't even have to think about it! So many wonderful items, something for anyone's style and budget. Old leather objects and jackets; vintage phone from the 30s; tea cups & saucers; wooden trunks refinished and could be used for end or coffee tables; vases, serving pieces, estate jewelry, fashion jewelry, art, small pieces of furniture, barware, glassware, and vintage material & clothing. Fell in love with a pair of off-white boots with flowers embroidered up to the knee. They were stunning! If only they fit! A one of a kind statement piece. Hanging on a wall was a macrame owl. Quirky, homemade, vintage - I had to have it! That's what is so fantastic about these type of stores. Hundreds of people probably walked by that owl without a pause and yet it stopped me in my tracks! In addition to standard art like canvas and pictures, I like to adorn my walls with different expressions of unique art. This owl will definitely do that. And for $12, no risk. The owner is clearly passionate about her business, as excited as I was for my "finds!l She was chatting with several customers that obviously stop in often and just as easily made conversation with tourists visiting from out of state. She packaged my items in a bag with orange tissue and a bow, definitely a boutique touch. First time here but I will be back, for sure. On Nov 6th, 2021, they are celebrating their 8 year anniversary with 20% off and mimosas all day. See you there!

Found a beautiful Mrs. Claus for $4.99 and she is now adorning my tree and is so beautiful! Also picked up a box of a dozen large rd glass ornaments and an Angel. All had no openings for weeks. What? Honey, you are not in Portland Anymore! In Portland, you can walk in any of the 50-100 salons and get any service, no wait, 7 days a week. Yes, I know The Dalles and Hood River are not big cities like Portland, but assumed there would still be nail shops with several attendants. Turns out many are true salons with just the owner or two people providing services. Initially there were no openings at Hey Gorgeous but Sherrie had a cancellation and called me back. Said if I could be there by 11:30, she could fit me in. I bolted out of the house and took the 12 minute drive to The Dalles, a beautiful drive I must say. Located right in town, inside and on the second floor of Hampton Furniture, the Hey Gorgeous salon is very private and comfortable. Sherrie got right to work and I was immediately impressed with her skill and speed. She never once had to clean up the gel Polish; every swipe was meticulously applied and no need for any touch ups. The pedi was equally impressive. I've been having my nails done for 35 years and never has anyone done the service in the order that Sherrie did but after she explained her rationale, it made total sense. The real proof was how great my hands and feet looked when she was done. For the first time ever I had a gel Polish on my toes and let me tell you, it's the best! Lasts forever, stays shiny, and you can walk out of salon immediately with no fear of a smudge. I swim every day and wear Finns. Usually my toe Polish gets ruined but not with the gel. They still look perfect two weeks later. I'll never go back to regular Polish again! Received so many compliments on my nails! Looking forward to my next appointment with Sherrie and will definitely call and book my appointment in advance. Sherrie is super friendly and I enjoyed our conversation as much as the nail service. Five stars all the way!
