Stayed here for one night and was pretty disappointed with the room. I guess, for $114.00 (inc tax and the other fees) you get what you pay for. Although, I did think I was paying for heat (room was so cold despite turning it up to 79). The bathroom was even colder which sucked when coming out of the shower. I requested slippers and towels and was told they don't provide slippers. For a casino, hotel, spa I was kinda surprised but maybe that's because pechanga does it and I assumed they all did. The TV didn't work at all. I guess it was the satellite feed but we wanted to lay around and watch tv (and be warm) and it was clear that was not going to happen. The shower handle was broke so you were either freezing cold or almost scalding hot. Oh, the overwhelming smell when you enter the check in area. It was WOW. smelled like a teenager, who got his first bottle of cologne, and completely doused himself with it, so as he walks the smell just lingers and it gets caught in your throat. That smell. I didn't care for it. Check in was easy and quick. Room size was nice and bathroom looked newlyishly renovated. I probably won't stay again but I will come back for the legends bar onion rings. We had a great stay, nice rooms, generous comps, good selection of machines, over 2000 machines. We are from West Coast where Keno and Poker is popular and this casino has those machines. Most that we have been to do not. The buffet was very good. The selection was more than adequate but not huge, thus the food was fresh and very tasty. Our bell man, Sean, was excellent and Dusty also at front desk. Both went way above and beyond what we service we would normally get in California.will go back if ever in the area. read more

Which my friend ate, and it made him so sick, he almost stopped eating it, and that is sad in itself, and we finally got him to eat at the buffet, in Boonville, which was fresh, and no issues! I've visited casinos all over the United States.... And I will go back to Downstream over and over again. The rooms are very nice, and the front desk staff is always very helpful. My favorite machines are the VGT's in the high limit room. They have Ruby Red, Money Bags, Lucky Ducky, and many others. I've seen a lot of reviews about tight slots and that simply isn't true. This casino pays out millions in jackpots each year. I also like the blackjack tables and dealers. They do not have craps here or traditional roulette. They do have electronic roulette. The best part about the casino? The customer service! They offer valet parking, but even if you choose not to use it... A shuttle bus is consistently on the move picking people up and dropping them off at the front door. **Update 3/13/15 Had a horrible experience with a valet attendant named Kristen. Not impressed. Too many old machines. Didn't pay crap. Only good thing was they did have a lot of machines that started with low prices.

The bad: Tight machines, buffet is not yummy by any stretch of the imagination. The bar is expensive. The good: Lovely room, well-appointed. I especially liked the makeup mirror and seat. Deliciously comfy bed and pillows. Beautiful view and well kept property. I did not use the gym, spa or pool. Table dealers were terrific. Casino staff is friendly. Casino is clean. The wonderful: Called from on the road to check availability, yes, $99+. Check in with a million people with free hotel vouchers, but the desk was above courteous and for no reason, discounted my stay to $75 inclusive. She offered me fresh fruit and said she'd personally see to any other needs I might have. Free buffet and $5 chip. WAY better than the Motel 6 I'd anticipated. Slept like the sinless. I read lots of reviews online about this casino and I was hesitant to be enthusiastic when my husband said he booked us a weekend getaway here. I'm super sensitive to smells and I feared that I wouldn't enjoy myself if the smoke was as bad as some reviews had suggested. We are at the hotel on our second night now and I can only say great things about this place. Even though the hotel is sold out for the weekend, it doesn't seem crowded. Yes, people smoke at some of the machines, but their ventilation must be top-notch because it really didn't affect me like the casinos in St Louis usually do. This place isn't huge but it's just the right size for a great weekend and a great time. The hotel is absolutely beautiful!!! First class resort and casino. They have done this one right. Cleanest rooms I've ever stay in. Ask for new tower they are even nicer. Pool is cool and has outside bar and fire pits. Room service is great. Red oak is great but get ready cause it is high. Wish the casino had license for craps but they don't. Slot machines are as good as everywhere else. This has been my favorite casino outside of Vegas, but it is EXTREMELY Smokey. The last 2 visits we've had in the last few months, the smoke has left me with a migraine and an inner ear issue that lasts over a week. It's disgusting that in this day and age people are still allowed to smoke in public, but if a facility is going to allow it, they should at least have a good ventilation systems. Im very disappointed it's not better here bc we love to have getaways here. But I'm scared to go back, because I don't want to be sick. The buffet is also often left unattended and the salad bar will have no lettuce, croutons, cheese, etc. Or the fried chicken will be picked over and only have pieces no one wants to eat. So I've gotten to where I don't want to eat at the Casino, because it's very frustrating to leave hungry. Besides the smoke and subpar buffet, it would be an amazing time! We noticed security cruising the rv area. felt a lot better. You get a players card your RV stay, one night is free: Note: If you stay on the side by the Mini Mart/gas station very un level spots. The casino itself isn't all that bad. Good machines, I've won(and lost) my fair share there. Yeah, it can get a little smokey but it's a smoking allowed establishment; it's gonna be smokey. My issues come with the other aspects. The hotel and the restaurants within it. I've been to the Spring River Buffet 5 times now and the food selection and quality has gotten worse with each visit. This time it was BOGO and we had a $10 off coupon but nonetheless. The Wa-Na-Bee-Dea joint is open 24hrs but they're overpriced and this last visit they were unable to serve any hot food whatsoever. That limited their selections to candy, pre-made baked goods and ice cream. We ended up having to make change (vending machines only accept $1 bills by the way) and grabbing "snacks". The hotel rooms themselves are nice. The mini-fridge barely cools a bottle of water and the toilet paper is one sheet shy of sandpaper but otherwise they're ok. We keep using the free stays they offer but I think after this visit we won't be coming back, even for the free stays. read more

Rooms are very big and the bathrooms are great with awesome showers! Very quiet in the room and also comfortable beds! Even though there is a casino downstairs, we prefer the room! This is one of those places you want to like but can't. It's as large as a Vegas style casino, I would say, but without all the neon. I'm a cheap gambler so I can spent a lot of time in there and not spend a lot of money. Lost all of five bucks for an hour's fun. They must hate me. It is smokey but not as bad as Seneca but still smokey. Hate the sport's grill as they bury everything in MSG. Most of the people walking out of the casino did not look very happy. I walked around checking out the different machines and most had an expression of unhappiness. I don't know what it is with security. They must think they're G men or something. After getting my rewards card straightened out, I stood in a hallway out of the way and under the light to count my money. Not pulling it out to flash a wad of cash but just count what I had in my wallet. Security seemed to be more interested in my money than I was. Unfortunately, I was a disappointment for them as I went home with what money I came in with less five bucks. I do have to agree that although this is the largest casino in the area, it must have the smallest payouts. I'm thinking, nice landscaped approach road, hotel, second hotel, other buildings, big bills need lots of small bills fed into a slot, I guess. When in the area, the one near Grove has always been one where I walk out a winner. But, on the whole, if you read reviews on all of these joints, they have lowered the payouts. Was staying at Downstream to celebrate my 40th Birthday with a group of girl friends (the Casino it's self is GREAT as well as the Hotel and Spa) but we could not have received worse service than what we received at Ledgends Sports Bar and Grill on Sunday. I ordered the Ribeye Med-Rare and the first steak I received came ot very well done. It took over 20 mins for a second steak to arrive and it was more Med-well and since my entire party had already finished eating I elected not to try for a third try. Not one time did our server apologize for the food not being correct and the manager was actually quite rude and offered no apology when she brought back my adjusted check to the table informing me that she had spoken to her kitchen staff and indeed they told her that the steak was Med-Rare. I wish I had asked her to return it to the table so that we could discuss it further but I was just so taken back as to the fact that they were not apologetic about it all and in fact quite rude. Downstream really needs to fix this problem as it is a reflection of their property and guests have to be able to enjoy a good meal and drinks while visiting. read more

The only reason that this casino is getting two stars is that the facility is nice and fairly clean. Disappointed that there really wasn't a decent non-smoking section for the slot room. The lunch buffet is cheap but it is limited. People were lined up well before opening time and there was a line most of the time. Also disappointed that they close the buffet down between lunch and supper. Good buffets stay open and bring out better food in the evening. Go here if you want t o lose money quickly on the slot machines. In four hours of playing I hit only one or two decent payouts. Machines are way too tight. The casino's in Tulsa pay better. I haven't tried the casino's in Miami but next time I get the gambling bug I will skip downstream and go to Miami. read more

The buffet is a joke. My parents and I walked to an empty entrance of the Buffett only to be ignored repeatedly and then passed on so they could help their gold members get in faster. I let that go. Stuff happens? As I'm walking back to my room through the casino I was looked up and down by some wanna be manager and told to throw my bottle of water away for no reason only to be informed that it's "policy" that no bottles of water are on the casino floor. I WOULD RATHER STAY AT A MOTEL 6. This place is a piñata, really pretty on the outside and full of crap on the inside. Do yourself a favor and save the headache. It deserves NO stars. read more

Looks like it used to be a good place. Now it's falling apart. The shower doors leak. The towels are as rough as sand paper. They even charge a resort fee. You would think that at a resort, you would at least have soft towels. The price per night is outrageous for this place. read more

Be sure to eat at their steakhouse - my steak ranks in the top 3 I've ever eaten and I travel a lot and love steak. I love this place. The rooms are super comfortable and the staff are awesome. They all go the extra mile for us. Joplin is our companies base of operation. Whenever we come home for a couple of days we stay here. That's if their not booked. Whether you come to stay or just for the day to play the games in the casino. This is a great place to visit. Be sure to get your players club card to get a few extra perks. When you get on their mailing list you can receive "free" rooms for a night. This does not include the $100 for a deposit which is always returned to your credit card a few days later. Weekly free play, you can get discounts at their spa and food credit or a free buffet. They have an indoor pool and hot tub and the outside pool which should be opening soon for the season. A exercise room which I'm to lazy to try yet. Several restaurants to try plus if you enjoy golf they a course to try as well. We have eaten in all the restaurants but Red oak steak house. I have heard from others that they are really good. It is a cute place. However I have seen way better even for the buffet area. Our waiter never checked on is and did not refill our drinks. The food area is very small and the selection is not that great. The salad bar was a disaster (empty food containers, food spilled everywhere and very dirty). The prime rib was good but not worth the $20 for the meal. In all we spent $79 on dinner and it really did not meet our exceptions. We valeted our van and the guy was very nice. However when we picked up our van the guy dropping it off couldn't wait to yell out the window about gorls flashing people on the balcony. I have two youngish boys who did not need to hear this. Especially since the guy was making it such a big deal and calling his friends over to the van as we stood there. It really made me not want to bring the family here again. read more

this casino has been my favorite for a while now . until my last visit with my wife on the 29th of October . their buffet is great the entertainment is good . the smoke can be a little overwhelming at times though . after a full day of gaming and eating ,the wife and I decided to call it a night so we retired to our what seemed to be a clean room . we got ready for bed and got in bed to sleep . it wasn't very long before I felt something irritating my skin . we got up and the rooms arent lit very well so I used the flash ight on my phone to see if I could find what was irritating me . I wear glasses and even with my bi focals couldn't make out what the gritty substance was we immediately called the front desk and got dressed shortly after 3 women came to our room and changed our bedding . we have never had an issue like this before . I have tried on 5 different occasions to reach Kathy the hotel manager to see if steps were being taken to avoid problems like this happening again . and I also thought that maybe due to our inconvenience she my buy our dinner next time we come down . calls, voicemails and nothing no response . if you plan to enjoy downstream be sure to check tour sheets before getting into bed ,God only knows what could have been left behind if they are skipping changing the sheets ...ugh . We celebrated our anniversary here as it is just quick jaunt from Springfield, MO for us. The rooms are more expensive on the weekends, however it was worth it in our opinion. They are very nice/luxurious rooms and bathrooms (no tub, but really nice large all glass shower). Even if you don't like the Indian inspired themes, it's done very tastefully here. They have free wi-fi in the rooms. The valet parking is free, so don't bother with self parking. The casino is nice, but there are no dice games. Just cards and slots. Make sure you sign up for the players Q card (it's free). We had dinner at the Red Oak Steakhouse, which was really good but it is pricey (approx $40/person). But the restaurant was really good and deserves 5 stars. read more

I went there primarily to see a show at the 'Pavilion'. It's not a pavilion. It's a big long room with a stage at the end that reminded me of seeing a show in a high school gymnasium. The 'bar' at the show was folding tables and keggers. Also high school. The seats were folding chairs. This is the most amateur setup I've ever seen. I would be embarassed if I was an act playing there and saw that. As for the casino/sports bar, smoky as hell. The sports bar had decent food but isn't walled off from the casino and doesn't have a non-smoking area. It was like walking through a cloud. And choking. I didn't gamble mainly because of that. The slots appear new, and digital. However, the people were just a sad morass. This is nowhere near the casinos that I'm used to going to . I hear the hotel is nice, but I didn't stay to find out. read more
