Worst haircut experience of my life! Damon, the male hair cutter, stared me down and scolded me for walking in despite a sign on the door welcoming walk-ins. I could tell he was drunk because he smelled of booze. He even threatened to stop the haircut halfway through because I asked where all the people waiting for their cuts after me were. There were only two other walk-ins, so I can't imagine how their haircuts went. To top it off, he had an open knife on his desk while overcharging me for the haircut. Timing helped on this one as I was a walk in and they took me. Although my #3 crop couldn't be easier to do, my barber ( girl with black hair) went above and beyond the usual crop job. Straight razored my neck and cheeks with warm lather. Added the hot town treatment with light scalp massage! I want to visit Reno again for the service alone. Great place indeed!! read more

Hands down the best barber shop in Reno and Sparks for a beard trim. I can't review for a haircut because unfortunately I can't grow hair on my head to save my life but I got a mean beard lol. I got the pleasure of having Carleton trim my beard and line it up. There's a decent amount of parking, location is in a great area and they accept walk-ins as well. Carleton is also born and raised in Reno so if you have any questions he can answer it. The conversation we had was great and I'm only having him cut my beard from here on out. I was driving by and saw this spot and was in dyer need of a cut. The door said open so I walked in and asked for a cut and a beard trim and was instantly met with an attitude from Damon. I proceeded to let him cut my hair and he was upset the whole time. When he was finished with my hair he started to clean my neck up and let me out of the chair, I asked him to tighten my beard and threw a fit because it's "Friday" mind you it's Saturday... He proceeded to cut my entire beard off and when I got home by drop fade is completely un even. Don't go here! read more

Took my son get a nice hair cut. Asked for a high faded with the top short. I actually showed a picture what I wanted on him. Didn't get anything like the picture probably the worst faded hair cut I've seen. Too the point where I had pull out my own clippers and fix's this patchy faded. And too top it off it was 40 dollars for a kids haircut. not even the best barbershops in Reno charge that much for a kids haircut, let alone a horrible faded. So yeah won't be coming back. read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would and it would be because of the way the Damon decided to conducted himself today. My boyfriend had walked in for Carleton (who had taken him as a walk in prior) and he could've easily just said "sorry it's appointment only please set one up" instead he was aggressive, rude and hostile. He still sat him in his chair even though he said he had an appointment in 10 minutes. ALL YOU HAD TO SAY WAS NO MY GUY. On top of his rude and unprofessional behavior he botched the hair cut. Assuming because he was rushing his 10 minutes. He asked for a slick back with medium fade and he gave him a high skin fade. I really don't know how you mess it up or mix that up. Now he's just practically bald with a lot scalp irritation. On top of all of this when he came in and asked if Carleton was in he told him no he's not he doesn't work here anymore. My bf asked why and he just got so agitated about it and said he wasn't going to get into it with him. Wouldn't it have been better to just tell him when Carlton was? You made this so hard and for what? $35 you didn't deserve because you botched it. As a person who recently finished my military service with the Marine Corps, I was taught to treat every person with respect no matter who they are. When I was looking for barbers this morning I was looking for one with decent reviews and one that opened up early. I also called 2 times at 10:00am and no one answered. I headed to downtown barbershop (which online says open at 10am) so I show up exactly at 10:02am and I see on the door it says closed. The sign says will return at 10:00am so I thought maybe he hasn't opened or forgot to turn the sign but as I was walking away I see that he is giving someone a haircut and assumed he forgot to turn the sign. I open the door and immediately get YELLED at to leave and that they're closed. I politely said ok and walked away. This is not how you teat anyone, specially someone you do not know. Terrible customer service and don't even care about how the haircuts come out. I headed to The Town Barbers, they opened the door for me and I was greeted with a warm welcome. Plus I got an appointment in 5 minutes. read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would. The barber ignored my instructions, insisted on using tools I told them not to, and ended up massacring my hair. I wasn't asking for anything fancy, just not to change much about the style, and not to cut much off. A bit after starting, the barber surreptitiously cut off virtually all the hair from the back of my head. Definitely do not go here unless you want something like a uniform buzz or a clean head shave--they won't be able to hear you describe anything else. And you'll be out more than $30; you'll also have to suffer the indignity of wearing the haircut. read more

I called to book a hair cut for my 11 month old. I understand not all locations will do so. I was immediately cut off the second I said months old and then he ended the call. I called back to verify what he had said and when he realized I knew he ended the call he tried to make a joke of it. Customer service was an absolute joke. read more

This place has been good to me but lately their service has seem to gone down. I go in for a walk in because they have a sign that says walk ins are welcome. So I walk in and don't even get greeted by the two barbers and I sit and wait 15 minuets for the next guy to be available then he decides to ask if I had an appointment and I told him no and he said he can't take me because he has an appointment coming in ten min. This place will leave out a large sign on the street saying "Walk-Ins" welcome in addition to the hanging sign on the door saying "Open." Then when you, a familiar customer that has tipped very well enters, you get shouted at that they're done for the day. Poor customer service. Take your signs down and lock up; the customer isn't to be made to feel disrespected because you won't follow business etiquette. read more

Wow, what a terrible experience! I read the reviews and made my way downtown. I was treated rudely immediately upon walking in, basically "we don't have time for you." Then I looked up at the price list: $20-35 for a men's haircut? That doesn't include hot foam, razor, or any extras? Are they out of their minds? They then decided there was maybe a barber in the back who could take me before he went home. We agreed on $20 as I wasn't paying a penny more. My hair is so butchered that I'm going to have to go get another haircut to fix it. I will never return and would suggest you take my advice on this one. read more

Carlton has been my barber for about 9 years. He is a master barber and can style your cut any way you like. Attention to detail is what counts. You get that from him. I am very particular about my hair and travel to his shop from my home in Carson City because I know the kind of job he does. Going to his shop is money well spent. read more

I've been here years ago, and always could walk in and get a cut within an hour even if they had 3-4 people waiting. Apparently they take appointments now, and turned me away at 3pm on a Friday. It's unfortunate that they don't keep a chair open for walk ins; and or one cut per hour open for walk ins or something like that! Stopped by for a haircut this afternoon for the first time and left with the best haircut I have ever had! Younger staff but the feel of the place is that of a traditional Men's barber shop through and through. I rarely post comments, but the service and attention to detail of the barber was of the quality I rarely see these days. Not like so many local chop shops that have you out the door in five minutes. For the price, which is the usual or less than that most shops charge, I was amazed at the time and care the barber took to make sure my cut was right. It felt great for once to actually relax and feel like you were truly a welcomed customer! I've been getting my haircut here since I moved back to Reno from Oregon two years ago. All the barbers have cut my hair imo Bob is the best, although I would recommend any of these guys for a good cut. Remember without an appointment you are going to wait especially when the Barbers are good at what they do.
