The barbers are very friendly and the shop relatively clean. I think my barber did their best to cut my hair properly but it took a few attempts and revisions due to the poor lighting. I can understand the desire to maintain a certain aesthetic but the dim lighting is holding the barbers back. I do not think I'll return until they make a change. read more

I was very disappointed with my experience here. Taking into consideration the good reputation that this place has, it was a poor experience. I found the staff to be unprofessional in their discussions. The haircut was subpar. I have honestly gotten more symmetrical haircuts at lower end shops. All other things aside I can't look past the haircut. read more

You know how you go on YouTube and see these great videos of craftsmen and want to hire them but they're nowhere near your state ? Or you see these awsome shops on Insta and Pinterest that are everything you're looking for only to find out they don't exist anywhere in your boring town ?That's me. I've been looking for a barbershop that really knows what they're doing with beards and male centric fashion to tame my year long Covid growth, man but a handsomhas concept of male aesthetics and forward fashion and found nothing - NOTHING in my home state after months of looking. Most of the places I checked out don't even do beards - dead end here. Figures that 2,000 miles away from home while just looking for a cool place to get drinks I'd stumble across the PERFECT shop. We were heading into the post office building (original art deco building ? yes please and thank you ) for the speakeasy when I saw "Beautiful Bearded Man" on the directory. LoL w0t ? I told my friend that I was going to duck in and check it out, as it sounds like it may be the kind of hip shop I was looking for. Literally as soon as we walked in I was like "yeah I'm getting my haircut here, you're gonna have to drink without me". Upon immediate entry I saw awesome hair, awesome beards and... yeah this is probably stupid and biased but it just felt like my kind of place like we could talk about different ways of starting a fire from scratch, rebuilding engines, and everything that's wrong with substituting turkey for beef. It just felt like a place by rugged men for rugged men. After we all joked around about my Nouveau Appalachian Meth look, one of the guys said he could take me. He did an AMAZING job. Didn't rush but also didn't take forever, kept my hair longish on top to let me keep the more natural look and reminiscent of the giant mane I went in with, and trimmed my beard like an absolute expert. One of the guys handed me a .... soda ... to enjoy while he worked on me. My after pictures are fantastic and exactly what I was looking for; he kept my long beard, kept some of my long hair up top, but trimmed it and worked it all up to bring me up to date with today's fashion and make me look my best me. Even the price was humble, and worth every penny. I hope you can appreciate that I spent a bit over a year growing my hair and was getting used to it and wanted to grow it longer, but decided that this was the place to get groomed up. I'm as thrilled with the decision now as I was then. So appreciative of this shop, so sad it's 2,000 miles away. read more

I had an appointment set up for about 3 weeks, I was getting married, and I needed my haircut to be top shelf, which was exactly the service and care I got! This gentleman took his time and stayed longer when he had kids to pick up to make sure every single thing about what I wanted done was just right! I'm full blood Italian, so needless to say my beard and my hair are thick, course, crazy and wild, this man took 2 and a half hours to make sure it was GQ status, I came outta that chair so relieved and happy that I looked better than a J-crew model! Love the new products! Just got done shaving with with the shaving cream. Barely had to use any and got the closest shave I've had in years. The after shave is also really nice also and has just enough fragrance. My daughter used the shave cream of her legs and said she did not get razor burn like she does with other products. read more

My second trip to see Don and I really like this place. Great atmosphere in the basement of the old post office. The shop is very comfortable and you get a free shot of whiskey with your cut! Today they had 5 whiskies to choose from, including a very good scotch. Don is extremely friendly and very conscientious. He works hard to understand what you want and takes his time to make sure he gets it as right as possible. He makes and keeps his appointments - something I really appreciate. In addition to the whiskey you also get a traditional hot lather, straight razor shave on the neck line - very hard to find anymore. And you get all this for only $18! This place is a real winner. I had an appointment with Trae this past Tuesday and it was easily the best haircut I've ever gotten. Prior to this cut and beard trim I was managing my own beard and getting hair cuts from sports clips. I've never really been a fan of the way my hair and beard looks so whenever I go in for a haircut I always tell the hairstylist to just make it look good and that I trust their judgement. I realize that if I were in their shoes I'd probably hate hearing those words as it gives me very little guidance but I honestly have no clue how my hair needs to look to look best with my face type and I figure a professional hair stylist should be able to do this for me. But for the longest time no hair stylist could do this for me. This was until what Trae was able to pull off. Since my cut I've had numerous people complimenting my new hair cut. It's really given me a significant boost in self confidence and on top of it all he also put my beard together really well. Definitely way better than I ever could have. Obviously the price is pretty steep compared to most non barbershop places but in my case it was very much worth it and I will continue paying the $31 cost to get a monthly trim and beard grooming. read more

These guys are the best in town and them always being booked up shows that. Great barber shop feel. They will offer you a beer while getting cut. All the guys are very personable. The best haircut I've had in Reno. The only other haircut that I've had of higher-quality was for a buddy's wedding at a chic barbershop in Scottsdale that was $50 before tip. Twice I tried to make an appointment and the first time it took over a week before I heard back from anyone. The second time I had to call twice before got a return call. When I tried to make an appointment they were a month out and not very concerned that they were turning business away. Love this place. The moment you walk in it feels like an underground gentlemen's club. Josh, Don and Brian are all talented at what they do amongst other things. Don is my barber by appointment only.
