We are from out of town. Walked in with my son, 11, for a fresh cut. The barber was Aryeh. My son left the shop so fresh and so clean. This barber was "cut from a different cloth." Pun Intended. He was kind, and skilled. That hospitality was greatly appreciated by this Mother. We have not always had this luck. My son shared his art, Aryeh shared his wisdom. I enjoy this barbershop. It's a cool black barbershop environment where you can feel comfortable. It's a no judgment zone when it comes to speaking on politics, life, health or anything in general. Only rule is that this is a "Jesus-loving Zone". If you're going to come in, carry yourself correctly. The Barber tools are legit. The haircuts are very nice and the price isn't bad either. Regular cuts are $18. If you're a guy who wants to be lined up with " the razor" this isn't the place unless your getting your beard trimmed up. They are cutting hair literally until closing time but after closing, that's it. Some barbers will let you schedule internal appointments with them so plan accordingly if you're one of those guys. There are NO military discounts (sorry brothers-in-arms). They do women tapers as well. Lastly, they don't get all upset if you go to another Barber in the shop. However, a wise man once told me, once someone cuts your hair, don't switch it up because they could ruin a good thing :). Overall, great barbershop. I've had a lot of experience with different types of barbers but this place is special. I came in for a morning cut and got in a chair super quick which is amazing because like many of you know cutting hair is an art that can take 20, 30, 40 minutes depending on what you want. No lines come on in and sit on down. Let me tell you this place had me in and out with a taper fade and shave in 10 min which is incredible because I had grown my beard out for 4 weeks so that I could get it done properly. However my barber decided I wanted my top to match my beard so without warning my full beard was cut down to a 1 and I was also not given a taper fade just a 1 all around. As I was losing my shit I realized that the other Hispanic customers were also getting fucked up hair cuts. So in conclusion if you are a Hispanic Serviceman like myself please avoid this place at all cost because they will fuck your shit up. My chair was the second to last at the very end of the left side of the building (that's for the Turning Headz Barber owner) I highly recommend anywhere else but here. read more

I left Muskegon Michigan and for 19 + years had the world's best Barber and shop God ever created Fancy Yancy's. Yancy Hairies on a proprietor to better care of my hair then any barber before or since no offense. I just thought it would be impossible to find a new barber or shop where I could find the integrity and respect that I had become accustomed to. Yet A friend of mine Kirk KutCalvin here had a nice cut so he suggested Turning Headz. Everything was perfect me and my Four boyz were well welcomed. The fellow always speak respectfully. So I don't know why I ever have a nother location a try guy for the most part yet they were not family friendly at more time than I was willing to tolerate. Just like Signature N. I have to ask, do these guys at Turning Headz want to run a business or waste customers time? I stopped in there today at 5PM and there were three barbers, all had someone in the chair, so I sat down and waited for my turn. These guys slow rolled their cuts and when one barber finished with this customer, he couldn't even man up and say something; he avoided eye contact and began to clean-up real-slow-like. No one said a word to me except for a head nod when I first walked in. So I eventually got the hint that I was not welcome and got up and walked out. My reason for going to their shop was to support a neighborhood barber shop, I could have easily gone to base. All I can say is weak my brothers and you should be ashamed of yourselves. I used to get my hair cut by knockout cuts on S Hackberry, but the long lines, and terrible customer service turned me away. Knockouts was safer option because it was within walking distance from my house, but I quickly became frustrated with the barbers not paying attention to their customers and letting their friends cut line. This barber shop by far has best barbershop atmosphere and friendly barbers to go with it. They are located near a military base so there are quite a few military personnel who visit but I've seen, men, women, and kids all come in to get their haircut. I have never waited longer than 25 mins in the 2 years I've been coming here. The barber I usually go with, Sherm, already knows what kind of haircut I want, and its perfection every time. The pricing is ok, I don't even know how much my haircut even costs, I just give the same amount every visit, and I have zero regrets. The best Barbershop in town. read more
