We were down by Lake Tillery on a job so this was within a reasonable distance. Love the layout and decor in the restaurant. Oh, we picked a shareable for the table and spinach artichoke dip, which was a good choice to split between three people. We still have plenty of our workday left so I opted to go with the grilled salmon and a rather unique side in Mexican street corn.. for my second side I decided to add a house salad with homemade ranch dressing. The salad was a large portion to start with in the flavor of the Mexican corn in the salmon went well together. I made a great choice. The Mexican corn was three short corn on the cobs in a long dish with sauce on top of the corn. Public house is definitely the place to be in Albert mall for lunch dinner or a private event.

We went to Five Points Public house for a weekday lunch and only had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. The food was good, the interior architecture is nice to look at, and we will be back. The restaurant is a mix of booths and tables with chairs. You can tell the building is old, but had been tastefully worked into a restaurant by the age on the exposed brick within. The whole front of the restaurant faces one of the main roads for downtown, and has large windows that bring in tons of natural light. This place is good for a date night, a group gathering, or anything in between. There's even some bar seating if that's your thing. Our table got the French dip and a make-your-own burger. The French dip was easily shared by my little and me, as the portion size was large. The build-your-own-burger comes exactly as you want it, cooked to your temperature preference, but I will say the patty could have had more seasoning on it. The onion rings are amazing, and the onion adheres perfectly to the batter. One thing I hope to be able to use in the future is the Pontiac Room, which is their second story event space. They have a nice sign that gives details about the space, and I truly believe it would be good for wedding receptions, large parties, or large group gatherings. I don't know if there is an elevator to this space, so you'd need to check on that should your group have mobility concerns. Overall, this is a place that we will bring the whole crew to in the future.

The days of pounding shots in bars are long behind me and not fun anymore. But a cigar lounge and a glass of whiskey feels relaxed and more sophisticated. The Smoke & Oak has been on my wish list list for a while and I'm happy I finally went! The location is nondescript, looking like a normal house from the street were it not for the sign. Street parking was not difficult to find. Inside, the ambiance is great. Soft warm lighting, ample plush leather chairs for seating, attractive displays of cigars and a huge selection of whiskeys. The staff are passionate, knowledgeable, and friendly and made great recommendations. Walking in as a complete novice felt intimidating, and they made it much easier than I expected. I was taught basic terminology and options on pairings. Pricing felt reasonable and fair. The atmosphere was extremely laid back and relaxing. Socializing and networking with the other men was fun. I'll absolutely come back and you should too.

The place is set inside a beautifully renovated old home, and each room has its own cozy vibe--perfect for relaxing with a cigar, sipping a cocktail, or just unwinding with friends. They have a great selection of cigars and a seriously impressive drink menu. We were welcomed by Courtney, who gave us a quick tour and made us feel completely at home. You can tell the staff really cares about the experience. Outside, there was live music playing, and the back area had a calm, chill space where you can eat, talk, and enjoy the evening. Even the other guests were laid-back and friendly--it just felt like a great community space. Courtney met us when we entered and offered a tour! They outdid themselves! Then Roxy made us amazing drinks and offered cigar suggestions. Her personality is so bubbly! If you're looking for a comfortable, laid-back hangout spot with excellent service, premium cigars, and great drinks, this is the place to be!
