Amazing place to eat. Great food,service and atmosphere. The outdoor dining is very relaxing

Went with group motorcycles yesterday to River wild for lunch. We sat on the deck and had a great time and the food was delicious. I got buffalo chicken tenders with fries. Another got fish taco and shrimp taco, one got a Cuban sandwich, another got fish and chips and the last one got I think a prime rib sandwich. Two also got dessert, one a brownie with ice cream and another got cheesecake. Everyone was pleased with their selection. This is the 3rd or 4th time eating here and have always enjoyed it. The view of the lake is nice and the service is very good here. I highly recommend this restaurant if in the Lake artillery area. read more

The food was great, huge sandwiches but the water tastes terrible so highly recommend getting a different beverage if you're finicky about your water. Don't eat outside if you're afraid of spiders- they're in the tables, on the ceiling lights, on the walls- I couldn't even focus on anything other than the fear a spider would fall into my plate or on me. Took my friends here for their Wedding Anniversary! We all had 3 different things! All of it was great. My Hamburger was cooked just like I like it!! Staff were wonderful!! Also the so rounding walls etc. had very nice pictures on them. All & all it was a great experience! read more

We eat at River Wild often and I have ordered Beef short ribs several times. In previous times it was actually beef ribs, tender and falling off the bone with a delicious red wine gravy. Tonights dinner was not good and I should have sent it back. It was not beef ribs, not tender and the gravy tasted like it came out of a jar. I was greatly disappointed. First meal I've ever had I should have sent back. We had family from Montana visiting and I recommended the short ribs. One of my cousins did not like hers either. Do not order them. read more

Best fried pickles we've had in this part of North Carolina. Shrimp basket had nice large shrimp with a light breading and crispy. A chicken bacon ranch flatbread that was excellent. Salads were also very good with field greens, carrots, cucumber, tomatoes in perfect numbers and all fresh. Service was great. Not many other customers in the restaurant tonight but there was staff enough for a full house. We will definitely go back here. read more

Sunday night 9/1/24 Went to River Wild for dinner. We got there at 7:07pm went inside to get a table. The hostess said "We aren't taking anymore tables" The restaurant is open until 8:00pm tonight. There was plenty of empty tables available. So it doesn't make sense why we were told that. Not the way to run a business! We was a party of five. Lost our business. We visited several months ago and the service was horrible. We had three different waitresses trying to bring our food. When we ordered dessert, they bought it out and put it on an empty table. I had to get up and get it. We have not been back. It was our favorite Friday night spot. read more

Came up to the lake for a day with the family and they suggested that we stop in here when we were done for dinner. Beautiful building, great location, outdoor patio; let's do this. My family eats here quite a bit and seem to like it but I have to say I was a little disappointed with my visit. Nothing to do with the service or seating; both were great. My disappointment was with my food. I ordered a Cuban sandwich with onion rings. A sandwich is a safe bet when trying a new place because it's usually pretty tough to screw up a sandwich. I'm used to Cubans served on Cuban submarine type bread but this one was served on toasted white bread. The meat was overloaded with liquid smoke and extremely dry, almost no mustard. I ended up giving the wife half and taking half of her burger. Nothing bad about the burger but nothing to write home about. The onion rings were hard and greasy, way over cooked. Everyone else seemed to be satisfied with their meals so I'm the only one that wasn't particularly impressed and I really don't see how. My sister was served sweet potato waffle fries by mistake and I tried one: cold and tasteless. Glad they were free. Can't say that I'll be back by my own accord but if the family wants to, I'll be back. Not really much of an option when you're pretty much the only game in town. read more

On a beautiful day we drove 45 minutes out of our way to set on the River Wild deck and enjoy drinks and the view of the lake only to stare at weather vinyl enclosures. The manager said they couldn't be raised??? Not sure why??? We were so disappointed. We have eaten here three times over the course of the summer and autumn, and it's definitely the best option in the area. It has a nice outdoor and cozy indoor area reminiscent of a cabin, and free mini golf downstairs (which was closed when we ate their Saturday, perhaps because it is off season or the lake is down. Good, attentive and friendly service. Standouts on the menu include the wings, which are as good as any in Charlotte, and the fried Mac and cheese. This place loses a star for two reasons. One, although the bar is great, the wine selection is not awesome. This is a beer place only for me, and I don't love beer. The cocktails are just ok. Two, at my most recent meal on Saturday, I ordered a Cuban sandwich and it came on, no exaggeration, in plain white "wonder bread" style bread. I'm attaching a photo. Having grown up in Miami, I've tried dozens of Cuban sandwiches all over, and serving it on Wonderbread is a first for me - and not a good first. Still, we're big fans and this is a solid choice when you're at Lake Tillery. Although we've not done it yet, you can pull right up on your boat. I'd skip the Cuban though (unless they can put it on more traditional Cuban sandwich bread)! read more

I was very impressed with the food, the ambiance and especially the service. The special was Mahi and it was extremely good. The restaurant is right on the water and we were able to be outside so that was a definite plus. Our server, Kendahl took great care of us. She kept up with all the drink orders, requests for changes and was nice to everyone. It rained on our motorcycles while we we were eating and she brought us towels to dry off the seats. The servers are really sweet but the food has been iffy on both visits. The cod fish was greasy, brown rice is horrible no taste, soup was bland had to add sugar and sour cream, the ahi tuna was the best thing I've had, the pulled BBQ was ok. This place has a lot of potential. The menu looks amazing they just need to work on the recipes and teach the cooks a few skills like draining grease really well before serving. Our wings were amazing but wasn't cooked all the way the middle was pink and so was the bison burger. read more

First time here to River Wild. Came on a Sunday evening. Pretty quiet place. Right on Lake Tillery. My fish and chips were bland and the French fries were cold. My husband's burger was delicious though. Guess I'll try a burger then next time I come again. Sports bar atmosphere. I can imagine it being the happening place during the summer months. read more

The restaurant itself is beautiful. Excellent location. I had a bison burger and was not impressed to say the least. The quality of the burger did not match the high price. However the french fries were delicious. Many options on the menu however so maybe I just picked a not so good one. Probably the worst take out experience I've ever had. Placed a to go order @ 5:45 Sunday afternoon the person who took the order said it'd be ready in 15 - 20 minutes. I leave my house, stop and get gas and arrive at the restaurant at 6:10. The hostess says that they are still working on my order. At about 6:40 someone from the kitchen brings out two to go orders and sets them on the bench behind the hostess station. About eight minutes later the hostess reappeared asking if I was still waiting on my order. I pointed to the bench and said it been sitting there for a while. She gave me the total 47.00 and I gave her 60.00 she said someone would bring me my change. Another 10 minutes goes by with no one showing up so the next time the hostess appears I asked about the change. She said someone should have brought it to me. I just left. So whoever got my change your welcome. If it's going to take an hour for a to go order to be ready that's fine just tell me up front so I don't waste an hour sitting there. The food was cold. Anything fried was mush. But that's normal for places that use stryrofoam trays. Not a pleasant experience. I'll never get take out from there again. read more

The wait staff, location, and ambiance are great. The food has not been up to par in years. The last 6 or 7 visits have been very disappointing. The steaks always have too much gristle, too much fat, and never cooked as ordered. The salads have too much lettuce that you don't eat and taste like they are pre made and sit in an ice code refrigerator and freezes some of the lettuce. The spinach dip is just "ok" and the chips served with it are disgusting. If I owned or managed such a nice restaurant...those chips would never make it into the restaurant. Alcohol is a plus...it's as ordered. So disappointing for such a nice place. read more

A big shout out to Britney the manager. I called & ask for a table outside with a view that would accommodate my sister who is in a wheelchair. It was her birthday & we wanted to do something special. Well Britney went beyond. The food was excellent. My husband & I had the burgers. My sister had the shrimp & fish tacos. Of course we had a side of onion rings & fried pickles. Worth every calorie. Our waitress was very efficient & sweet. We will definitely go back even though it's an hour drive. Thanks everyone!
