Three hours after I had followed up, Joe calls me to actually do a consultation on what was needed. He clearly had not even looked at my car and told me I would not get it back for two more days. When I said this was unacceptable and that he should have told me some time in the last two days, he bullied me with gaslighting (insulting my parents??) and demanded that if I did not what I was doing at 8 PM on a Friday to get my car immediately, he would have my car impounded. Go anywhere else. Cars are complex, but agreements are simple. This shop does not communicate well.

I was headed to work when I noticed our car had a flat tire, after frustratingly searching for mechanics. My fiancée gave me the number for Firestone, I spoke with Jeff, who was super helpful and knowledgeable. After a brief conversation about my issue we agreed that We should have the car towed to access the repair. In a flash our tow truck arrived, I met up with Jeff at Firestone. He logged my information and assured me he would take care of me. He had a mechanic assess the tire and gave me estimates for the repair. Even in this crazy time jeff was able to help and provided great customer service. The Firestone was clean, everyone had masks, hand sanitizer was available & the bathroom was clean as well. While I waited I chatted with jeff and by the time we finished our vehicle was almost done. Overall what could of been a very stressful situation was sorted out with tact and efficiency. They had my car for 12 weeks giving me no updates. The work itself was poor quality and didn't solve the issues I brought my car in for. The first time I went to pick up my car, I pointed out multiple issues where the work was incomplete, pieces were falling off my car and not secured well, or not fixed at all. The doors they replaced were not even painted completely and they left the inside of my car a disaster. They have since been completely unresponsive when I tried to follow up. I have had to go through my insurance company to hear any news. I selected them doing searches on Yelp and Google and realized when I went to pay for the work, they off discounts if you leave a 5 star review... so that is why it looks like a good option. I recommend going anywhere else in the area. They apparently require that you pay in cash, which they never told me until I was there picking up the car, and then I did not have that amount of cash in hand, told me they could only use a card with a surcharge. I was given a 3-day window for completion and got a call back by the end of the 2nd day to come get my car. Checking out was easy and before I knew it, I was out in the lot looking at my car. Not only were the repairs flawless, I believe my car has been washed...at least rinsed off. The overall repair, while not cheap, is immaculate. I brought my car in for the Maryland Vehicle Safety Inspection. The mechanic called out a list of…read morerepairs after the inspection, claiming they were required for the Maryland inspection to pass. After doing my own research, it became clear that not everything on the list of repairs were safety-related or required by the state. Only after pressing the issue did the mechanic (named Malik) agreed and revised the list, which already raised red flags about trustworthiness of this shop. The experience only got worse from there. I dropped my car off early the next morning, as instructed, and called later in the day to ask Malik when it might be ready so I could arrange a ride. Instead of a simple, helpful response, I was met with outright hostility. When I asked, "Do you expect the car to be ready today or tomorrow?" Malik curtly replied: "Your car will be ready when it is ready." I asked my question a different way. Malik replied with the same exact response, " It will be ready when it is ready" I tried to explain that I just needed an estimate to plan my transportation. Malik responded "What part of what I told you don't you understand?" This level of rudeness and unprofessionalism toward a paying customer is completely unacceptable. Clear communication and basic respect should be the bare minimum, especially when you're entrusting someone with your vehicle and paying for their time and expertise. I cannot in good faith recommend Fell Point Auto to others. There are plenty of competent and respectful auto professionals in Baltimore , Fell Point Auto isn't one.

Keep in mind they are very popular and very busy! But they are affordable, atleast the most affordable of all the places I called in terms of estimates for labor. Another huge positive is that they let you buy and bring in your own parts. The car ended up being a total loss :( due to frame damage and other issues but I paid $68 for the diagnostic (they take card & Zelle apparently, with a card processing fee because it's $65 for the diagnostic). Behind them is a shop that does frame damage so that's another positive because they got an estimate from them for fixing my car. My only con is that I wish they told me the diagnostic price upfront, since they don't have a website. They communicate with calls and text and they kept me updated with everything. I ultimately sold the car and had a tow come get it from here so they're used to that happening too. Overall I would recommend and I would go back but I'm hoping I'll never need to again!!
