Like everybody, I waited patiently in your thimble-sized office, navigated your comically undersized lot, and quietly appreciated the humor of your staff through the years. Thank you for that. So why today was I met by two new faces at the service desk with such a strikingly different attitude? I was surprised to hear oil changes require advance appointments, and you now prefer online. I mean, sure, I can do that. But when did that change? And why was a technician I've never seen before so condescending about it? He was downright hostile. Then the other guy chimed in and accused me of interrupting him. Honestly, gentlemen, I asked myself, "Is it worth it to schedule an appointment with you, if I know it's going to be you calling me to tell me any additional work that may need to be done? Do I trust the two of you?" The answer in that split-second moment was no. The arrogance, sarcasm, and belittling behavior by this pair made me realize I wouldn't trust these two to be the communicators of my mechanic shop. When I asked where the two old guys went, Kyle said with a smirk, "They went where all old guys go." Um, did they die? No, they retired, thankfully. Old guys from the desk, you are missed by your customers! Maybe it's the same great mechanics working behind closed bay doors at Hollenshade's, I don't know. Two guys I've never seen before told me things about how the business works that I've never heard before and treated me in a way no one at Hollenshades ever treated me before. Which leads me to the conclusion that this is not the same Hollenshade's I've trusted for over 20 years. I'm genuinely disappointed that I need to find a new mechanic. I honestly don't know what's happening at Hollenshade's anymore.

I called Carney Tire about 3 weeks ago to inquire about credit for tires. I spoke with Michael (I…read morethink that was his name). Honestly, his presentation coupled with excellent drive I received on my only other visit (an urgent Sunday battery replacement in a car that Advanced Auto wouldn't install one on) made me want to return. When I arrived, Michael was at lunch, but 2 equally helpful employees, a young man and a young lady, walked me thru the credit process and helped me decide the correct tire for my driving needs. SO, 3 weeks later, a I noticed a screw in my brand new tires. I came right to Carney Tire and they took wonderful care of me. I returned for an appointment to have it replaced and the same young lady that helped my on my 2 previous visits, provided the same excellent service once again. During my visit to replace the tire, I was on an immune suppressing drug prescribed by my doctor and the the young lady happily accommodated my needs by taking my credit card info and meeting me outside. THIS WAS VERY APPRECIATED, THANK YOU!! I can't begin to say how much I appreciate all the employees there. Carney Tire has good people, folks. Although I have a regular mechanic of 15+ years, I will ALWAYS come here for tires and any Sunday urgent car care needs. It's also great knowing a second garage I already trust in case my (car specific) mechanic can't get me in. Thank you to everyone at Carney Tire!!

One of the guys told me the previous mechanic "cross threaded the lug nuts and to replace them is $360" which is unfortunate but I also heard them tell two other people the same thing during my wait which I found sort of suspicious. It took them 30 minutes from the time they told me they needed to be replaced to the car being done and that labor fee was $254...... Without this absurd labor fee for a less then 30 minute job my review would be much higher. I usually take my car to No Limit but since it was my moms car I thought they'd be fine, and they were very nice but I wish I woulda went to no limit and saved time and money. I keep coming back despite moving to a different neighborhood because it's the **only** place I've worked with in Baltimore that seems honest and competent. Clark regularly charges literally hundreds less compared to other shops that have given me estimates. They are friendly and practical. They have never tried to upsell me. As a woman, I am so grateful to have a place to take my car where I don't have to worry about being financially taken advantage of because of sexist assumptions that women don't understand cars.
