Excellent burgers and the breakfast is off the hook, hashbrowns and gravy chicken fried steak all homemade it's to die for

I called in an order for breakfast since my wife was out of town I was gonna get my food and eat it at home since I live close. They said on the phone to give them 20 minutes. I waited 20 minutes and I went for my food. When I arrived they said it would be a couple minutes. I sat and waited. Several orders went out as I waited. More take out orders were picked up. Finally I asked about my meal. The young girl at the counter said my chicken fried steak was the hold up because the MICROWAVE was out of order! I ordered chicken fried steak and eggs and hashbrown potatoes. No microwave required. When I mentioned that I don't see why a broken microwave is holding up my breakfast she said they use it to thaw the meat before cooking it! I am obviously quite annoyed at the whole thing. Just as I was walking up to cancel my order she throws the food up and says here you go! I get my food home 3 blocks away and my over easy eggs were cold and hard no runny yolk. I assumed this was because they sat waiting forever for the chicken fried steak fiasco. I tried the chicken fried steak. It was extremely tough and hard to chew and covered in some weird white sauce that definitely was not country gravy. Almost tasted like dill. I assumed it was a leftover sauce from a dinner special or something. My English muffin had plenty of butter which is good but it had sat so long it was rubber. The hashbrown potatoes were decent so those are what I ate. The rest was split between my two dogs. Very unfortunate. I've tried twice to like this place but it's a let down. I always support local businesses but wow! The burger I had previously was good but the pizza for the family had toppings wrong and a disturbing amount of onions. read more

Been a while since going here so thought we would give another try as has been meant years. Not much better. Burger doesn't even fill bun. Overpriced for value. No welcoming when arrived. Lady just stood at register without a word until we ordered. Seemed like people hated being there. Decor was the same from years ago, but fairly clean. Definitely last time! read more

Wilbur is a nice little farm town, and Doxie's is a nice little farm town diner. Lovely ladies in there, taking care of a busy Wed afternoon lunch crowd. We did call in our pizza order prior to arriving, so it was nice to roll up and have it hot in front of us. Pre-fab crust? Of course it was, and we didn't care dining 50+ miles from civilization. I ordered a BLT for dessert, and it was.....a BLT. Son got a Strawberry shake, and if you are a prolific traveler, you're aware little gems like this in the country know darned well how to make a good milkshake. Went in with high hopes based off pictures, waiting almost half an hour for our food, then we were given cold fries and burgers. Everything was wrong, asked for no onions on anything but were given onions on my burger and salad, they didn't give any of the sauces I paid extra for, the other persons food was even colder. When asked about it they said they just cooked it, but couldn't explain why everything was as cold as a sandwich. Do not recommend at all, if you want a good burger in Wilbur I recommend Billy's Burger just down the road. Horrible service from Doxies read more

My husband and I were in the Creston, WA area visiting my sister and her family. We decided to go out for breakfast since we were all on vacation. Low and behold, we found a gem: Doxie's Dine in. The best breakfast in town! Service is awesome and the restaurant and it's bathrooms are clean. They have a family setting with an area for teens to game and an area for little kids to color. We came for breakfast and there were 7 of us. I had the Ma's breakfast. It's a homemade buttermilk pancake the size of a dinner plate, thick crispy bacon and an over hard fried egg. I know it's simple but it's delicious. The pancake is the kicker. Sooooo good tasting. One of the best I've had in a long time! Coffee is delicious and only a dollar. Free refills. Can't beat that. Kudos to the cook! If you are ever in the Creston area, I highly recommend this place! Burgers look delish. Check them out! This is a Gem! I wish we had a Doxie's here in Ashburn, VA! read more

We travel Highway 2 all the time and this place was recommended to us to try sometime so one day we decided we would give it a try. We didn't quite know what to do when we walked in as it wasn't clear to order from the counter. The server initially ignored us, she was busy, we understood that, but it would have taken no time on her way by to acknowledge and educate us. After we stood there long enough, she did ask what we were doing so we said "do we seat ourselves?" Her response was to order at the counter and then followed with, "but there is no place to sit, oh I guess I could clear one that is available." We didn't feel welcome, I would have left but my husband said we should stay. I think we may have been here the same day as a reviewer before me. We ordered and then also waited 45 minutes for breakfast, but we did get breakfast that day. After 40 minutes, I went up and inquired about our order. I was polite, but my receipt was stamped 10:29 and it was now 11:10. Our food came out five minutes after that, and it was good, nothing wrong with the food. While we were eating though, the servers were chatting about people who had no idea and that servers are not at their beck and call. I was fairly disconcerted, I had already tipped generously in a self order establishment, you do everything yourself except being out the food. I don't feel it was unreasonable to inquire about my order after that length of time. My three stars above is because they do have good food. We will most likely give them another try at some point, I understand there are bad days and they were busy. But polite and professional are always necessary. read more

Driving from Everett to Spokane on Hwy 2, hunger struck our travel party just before our pass through Wilbur. For our two men and two teenage boys, Doxies traditional American menu looked promising. Cheeseburgers, chicken strips, curly fries and shakes did not disappoint, and was actually very well received and beyond expectations. The floor and furniture looked clean and newly redone. The crew was very friendly, and the bathrooms fresh. I am very willing to stop there again and try their salads, pizza and explore their breakfast menu, which I did not get a chance to look at. I rolled up here after a LONG basketball camp and wanted a juicy burger. I ordered a wild cat burger and it was DELICIOUS! They're milkshakes are also awesome. My only complaint is that I had to remind the staff that my friends ordered fries but they brought them out super fast after that. Overall great place. read more

Came in on my way through town. Fantastic food for hungry travelers. Great atmosphere, and clean tables. $12 or so for burger and fries. I had the Western. Fantastic burger overall. I'm from Seattle, and so high prices isn't anything unusual. read more

After a weekend in Leavenworth we decided to drive back to Spokane on Hwy 2 instead of the freeway, and were looking for a good local place to get milkshakes and fries. A lot of places on this route are closed on Sundays, but we were sure lucky Doxie's was open! The place was clean and spacious, and the people working there were super attentive while we waited for our order. There were so many milkshake flavor choices, it was hard to decide! The restroom was clean and they had a table to set a purse or bag on - seriously such a good feature, who wants to set their purse on the floor? The fries were perfect - nice and hot and not too greasy. The shakes were delicious with chunks of Oreo or Reese's, or whatever flavors we settled on. Just what we were looking for! We are planning a return trip and will definitely make Doxie's part of our plans. read more

We stopped for coffees while passing through Wilbur. The kid behind the counter seemed nice but was lacking in basic common sense. We ordered three blended coffee drinks and asked if they sold hot tea. He said they didn't, so an iced tea was ordered as a distant second choice. This wouldn't have been a problem worthy of mention except when we went to the coffee area to get straws and lids there was a basket full of various teas. To top it off, he got one of the coffee drinks wrong, giving us a vanilla drink instead. It's unknown whether chemical substances have depleted his brain cells, or if life working a burger joint in Wilbur causes cerebral apathy. The other workers in the joint appeared to be hard-working, the place was clean, the family crowd at the other tables weren't loud. There were video games in the back along with a basket of toys for the little ones. This gets three stars - except I question why Yelp represents that rating with A-OK. read more

A nice surprise the first time we stopped in - and delighted to find they were as good as we remembered the second time. 1/3 pound burgers with sell selected toppings, including great bacon. My teenage son gave them 2 thumbs up, and enjoyed playing the pinball machine in the back. Good shakes, good fries, friendly service - very clean. This long time Wilbur eating establishment serves up a fine breakfast. No frozen hash browns here! I suggest you order a vegetarian omelette and add meat if desired. Upon request you can also get grilled onions and green peppers added to your hash browns. Yum! read more

Do not EVER eat here!!!! The service is slower than molasses. I am literally typing this after waiting FORTY FIVE minutes for one omelette! It has yet to come out.
