I so badly wanted to love this place, but I ended up being shockingly disappointed. I sampled the butter brickle, which was so outrageously sweet that I couldn't stand it. So I went with a single scoop of chocolate on a waffle cone. I thought, "You can't go wrong with chocolate." Well, I was wrong. The chocolate ice cream was completely devoid of the taste of chocolate. Then I thought, "This house made cone is going to be epic." It was awful--stale and tasty strongly of cinnamon, which was just odd. The man who served us was friendly and upbeat, and the old toys made for a fun atmosphere.

Loved this place! The ambience, staff and ice cream was great. You can really taste the quality, and home made feeling of the ice cream. I personally got the banana and strawberry, and although the strawberry was good, the banana stole the show!

We love Doyle's!! They have the best homemade icecream and the best homemade waffle cones! We look forward to visiting every year!

The butter Brickle may be the world's best. I'm not exaggerating. All there ice cream is hand made.

I had the coconut and raspberry cheesecake ice cream. It's homemade!

This place is a hidden gem! It's hard to come across classic ice cream parlors like these anymore. This place has been here since 1939! They have many unique ice cream flavors such a root beer float flavor, candy corn, and pumpkin cheesecake! I like how they have seasonal flavors that they switch up throughout the year! All of the ice cream is homemade and it's very creamy! The proportions were HUGE! They also offer nice outdoor seating to enjoy your ice cream. Chris, the owner, was very kind and helpful! Thank you Doyle's!

I'm coming from out of town and was looking forward to having huckleberry ice cream from sweet peaks, but they were closed so I was so excited to try a new place. Come to find out, they are not open when they say they are.

I could tell there was still plenty of time to get a scoop before 8PM. At 7:43 PM, one of the workers came out from behind the counter and told about 10-15 of us in line that we would have to leave because they close at 8. She was very kind about it, and she kept saying "I hate having to do this," but it made absolutely no sense. She arbitrarily split the line, and decided some people could stay, but said the rest of us (5 girls ahead of us, and 7-8 people behind us) had to go. Mind you, the girls in front of us and our group were ALREADY IN THE SHOP. Everyone looked really confused, understandably. I've literally never had this happen to me before. I held up my phone to show the worker the time, and I said, "Its only 7:43. We have 17 minutes before closing." Others said, "but we're already in the shop" or "but we've been waiting in line for a while." None of this made any difference. We all still had to leave. Even though there was plenty of time to get everyone ice cream. And god-forbid they have to keep working until 8:05 or 8:10 to make sure patrons who waited in line could get ice cream. What kind of shop does this?? How is this acceptable? "Bad customer service" puts it mildly. I could spell out a million other better ways this could have been done. Do better, Scoop. Spokane already struggles in the ice-cream shop department. Please be a part of the solution, not the problem.

It had a couple long freezers of ice cream as well as a decorated case. The young guy who helped us was nice and gave good service. I got a double scoop in a cup of Cherry Garcia and Berry Berry Extraordinary. Cherry Garcia is what you expect it to be if you're familiar with Ben & Jerry's and Berry Berry Extraordinary was new to me and had to try it. It was a pretty tasty sorbet. My friend got a strawberry limeade smoothie. He said all he tasted was tart and limeade. He didn't taste any strawberry, which I agree because I tasted it and it definitely lacked strawberries. The decorated case was full and looked pretty good, but we didn't get anything from it. My 3 gripes are: 1) my double scoop looked like a junior scoop at best, 2) it was $16 bucks and it was a lack of value and quality regarding the smoothie, and 3) they had all the flavors you're familiar with but sorely lacked any fruity type offerings. Unfortunately I get a better value buying a pint at the grocery store that's cheaper and gives more than 2 scoops.

A deeper dive showed a good possibility of gluten free options, so I made the reservation. I was in town on a Monday, just after Hoopfest, but they were the kind of busy where a reservation should always be made I think. My table was ready and I sat in the bar at a high top table. I think I would choose "in the dining room" next time. My server was friendly and quick, as well as knowledgeable about gluten free options. There is even a separate menu that lays out the dishes that are already gf or could be made to be. Love this, always. I ordered the summer salad to start. It was amazing. Flavorful. Fresh. The mint wasn't overpowering, the watermelon was the perfect ripeness. It was so good. I would try to recreate it but it was done so well, and I know I couldn't hit that dressing in the same way. Get it while you can. For my main, I had ordered the scallops in my brain before I even arrived. The risotto was a little soupy, but the flavor was SO good. The corn came through and it went so well with the scallops. The tomatoes were quite over salted, but as long as I didn't eat them alone, it was alright. The scallops were perfectly cooked and I felt like the portion was appropriately sized for the dish, even though there were only 4. My server really made the experience enjoyable. The atmosphere was busy but the booths looked like they could be cozy. The prices were on the higher end. But for a special occasion, it was worth it. I really wished I'd had room for dessert. I will surely go back the next time I am in town.

First off, I was looking for an authentic Napoli style pizza. Like a fresh red sauce from crushed tomatoes and a beautiful chewy, pillowy, yet charred crust. The verdict: Wooden City is the winner! The crust is really really good! The sauce is a bright beautiful tomato sauce that looks like crushed tomatoes however, the sauce was lacking flavor:( I would give this pizza a 3 out of 5. The crust is a 4 1/2 star but the sauce lacking in flavor..brought it down to a 3. Cute place, very pleasant friendly staff..way friendlier vibe than Barrelhouse. The boys are easy on the eyes for younger girls on the hunt! Lmao Don't bother with the Margherita pizza at Barrelhouse. Thank God I only paid $12 for the Margherita Monday deal of half off! The crust was horrible! Dominos has better crust! Costco pizza's had a better crust! The sauce has flavor, very garlicky like fresh garlicky but more of a paste with a load of oregano in it. The cheese didn't have that fresh taste I was hoping for. However, they are known for their Detroit pizza's which I haven't tried but if it's the same sauce, I would pass. Not saying it's bad but it's just not MY cup of tea whether it's for a Detroit style or any pizza. Now you don't have to guess which place has a better Margherita pizza. I wouldn't even pay $12 at Barrelhouse for a marg. Would I come back, yes, if I were in my 20's.. lol but since I'm older and the food is more important to me...no...:/ But hey, maybe their other pizza's are better! I can see a salty pepperoni being good!

There is also public use bathrooms that aren't port a potties, in side stores that require patronage, or generally nonexistent like most outdoor farmers markets. Fresh flowers, produce, salsas, bread, baked goods, local brews/ciders, jewelry, artwork, and more is there to peruse. The market always has great variety but I go mainly for two things; Fetch Dog Bakery and Big Daddy's Honey. Occasionally I will partake at the Scone Ranger as well but it's the English toffee I'm perpetually out of luck on (they did say you can call the a few days before and say you are coming to the market and would like a certain flavor). Their other flavors are enticing too. My mother in law loves the orange cranberry. Fetch Dog Bakery is so adorable and if you weren't paying close enough attention to the little trailer, you'd think their delicious offerings were of the human variety. Granted, there are options for humans but it's intent is to be a great place to get really affordable and fresh treat options for your pets. Plus, their clientele (aka all kinds of dogs) is always fun to watch "shop". I usually get the 4 for $3 little flavored doggie bagels. Our dogs love them! Then I head down to Big Daddy's Honey and I get a jar of spun honey. If you've never had spun honey, I highly recommend it! It is the perfect companion to so many things; donuts, fry bread, biscuits, waffles, crepes, spoonful in tea, the list goes on and on. You just want to make sure to store correctly so it doesn't separate. My niece was a big big fan of the Lush Cotton Candy. It's customizable and every kid's confectionery dream.
