I've ordered delivery many times and have never had an experience like this. My order was set to be delivered to the back of my dorm, which is exactly where the GPS pin in the app directs drivers. The delivery driver called me and said he couldn't wait and was moving on to another order but would circle back later. I was understanding and politely said okay. When he called back, he asked where to meet. I again said the back of the dorm, as directed by the app. I went outside and asked where he was. He said he had his hazard lights on -- but there were multiple cars with hazards on, so that wasn't helpful. When I asked him to describe his surroundings, he described an area I wasn't familiar with. At that point, his tone became frustrated and raised. He told me he "doesn't go to school here" and implied that I needed to accommodate him instead of following the delivery instructions. I calmly asked him to lower his tone and said we could just cancel the order if it was too much trouble. He then demanded that I meet him at a "main road" without explaining where that was. When I asked to cancel, he ended the call rudely and told me to do it myself. I was polite and patient throughout this interaction, but the lack of professionalism and communication from the driver was unacceptable. One star for the delivery person getting it here and calling when he arrived. Zero for the food. We ordered for the first time ever, tonight and I wish we wouldn't have. The food was so bad. It had no flavor at all and the dough reminded me of the pre-made frozen dough from WalMart. We spent so much money for food that was edible at best. Also, why would you deliver 7 calzones, in boxes that all you have to do is check the item on the box to reflect what is inside but not bother doing so? Jason was a horrible person to deal with. I had placed an order and it wasn't delivered to my address despite putting it into the order description and answering the phone when asked. I then proceeded to call the location and was met with hostile responses and called rude when my order wasn't met. All in all, although the food is alright, the service does not make up for the lack of effort and carelessness for their deliveries. After the first 10 orders are placed, everybody else they decide to accept orders from are put on at least a 1.5 hour hold only to have their time and money wasted for cold food if they even arrive. Deliver drivers will lie and try to drag you to spend more time waiting for their deliveries when they really don't have priority to deliver food on time. I went to this place a lot 2 years ago and the food was pretty good. I went recently and the quality has decreased so much. I got the Chicken Parmazone and the BBQ chicken dunkers. The only thing I didn't like was the side sauce, it's cheap, preserved, processed with lots of crap and sweet. I wanted a good acidic sauce to dip like I am used to in NJ and instead just ate to it dry. I wish they would just use crushed tomatoes, basil, and salt, and make it fresh in the store everyday, instead of the nasty processed crap from the can that does not match the quality of the calzone. College student dreams in one place, honestly. Cheap/Affordable, decent, and overall just nice. I personally enjoy he Chicken Parmazone, taking out Mozzarella with American Cheese. I also enjoy the Thanksgiving Zone (the seasonal calzone) because of its nice flavor. The tots in my opinion are a bit greasy and somewhat bland, but they're a real nice hangover food if you want to order them to your house. I saw the reviews and decided to give DP Dough a try since everyone seemed to love it. My mistake was just looking at the star-rating and not reading the reviews. Apparently the food here only good when you're drunk. The tater tots I ordered were soggy and some of them weren't cooked all the way through. The "cheese and bacon" on them was just sad. The bacon made me think of rehydrated bacon bits and the cheese was just a light sprinkle of blandness. I won't be mean about the calzone; I'm from Buffalo and have really high standards for my pizza and pizza-like objects. I will simply say that the calzone came nowhere near my standards and leave it at that. Sadly, the best thing I ate were the cheesesticks; pizza dough with mozzarella cheese, served with garlic butter. I've only ever had their Calzones (though I hear good things about the tots). In my experience, the Calzones are some of the best in Blacksburg. The food quality is pretty good, decent ingredients. Atmosphere isn't bad, but certainly nothing special (it's reminiscent of a Pizza Hut. It tastes good, worth the money. I thought it was timely for freshly made food. The food definitely fills you up and is worth a try, but it's certainly not delicious. The restaurant is located in the middle of Downtown Blacksburg. While the location is favorable when you are on campus, it can also act as a discouragement. Since the restaurant is located in Downtown, the parking isn't as easy as other restaurants in Blacksburg. I always ordered take out or got delivery so I can't speak for the restaurant aspect but basically this is a calzone place that makes excellent calzones for when you're too drunk or lazy for anything else. I give them 4 stars because that's what they're geared for, they don't try to fool you into thinking this is going to be an authentic Italian calzone... I like to the ability to order online and delivery times are pretty standard (~30 minutes).
