Mike and Dave at DPG Design & Build transformed our gravel driveway and modest grassy yard at the Four Seasons Napa Valley into something truly extraordinary--an outdoor sanctuary that rivals the most luxurious beachfront resort villas. When we started, I had no idea how it would come together. I just knew I wanted the space to feel organic and peaceful, and to enhance our daily experience of the 360-degree vineyard views. I dreamed of a salt water pool and a fire feature, but couldn't imagine how it would all fit in what felt like a small yard. And then--magic. Mike's design somehow made the space feel three times larger. The layout flows naturally, the textures blend seamlessly with the landscape, and the stonework is pure artistry. Dave Garcia created an innovative design and spent all the time we needed to select materials for our driveway, walkways and back patio project. His foreman, Steve was easy to work with as was his entire crew. They started the project on time and ended on the projected date. Filled out the form describing the scope of work, attached pictures with dimensions(outlining two options: 200sq.ft. and 600sq.ft.). Got a callback where customer service representative failed to accommodate simple normal-work scheduling constraints for just an estimate visit(no weekends, 9-5 on weekdays), which slowly turned into "oh, your project is too small for us anyway, we only take 1000+ sq.ft and up with $22-25/sq.ft. projects" What a waste of time. read more

Dave at DPG helped us out with our backyard and frontyard landscaping after the contractor we hired bailed on the project and ran with any money we gave him. He was very gracious and understanding of our situation and I am very satisfied with the work his company did. His design and expertise was a welcome change to some of the more amateurish contractors you'll find by the dozen in most listings. His team includes a horticulturist, so if you really want to dig into the flora of your landscaping design you'd be well taken care of. His company takes on both large contracts for cities and smaller ones for individuals, so I was very pleased with the clean and professional job that was still priced reasonably. read more

DPG put in my new landscaping and hardscaping back in 2017. The stonework was first rate and the planting plan was outstanding. The landscaping 2 years later is doing really good, even though there have been some plants that didn't fare well in the hot Discovery Bay summers. Dave's organization has stayed with us and helped us realize our vision. Kathleen and the crew came out today to put the irrigation in top shape and add a few more pieces to the puzzle. I got their info from Home Advisors.com, set an appointment and completed their questionnaire. Went through all that and was told by Susie that my project was too low for them. These could have been done earlier and saved me the trouble and the time I wasted scheduling and completing their stupid questionnaire. Beware of this company. Unless you're some rich person, they will outright refuse to help you. I'm not even sure that's even legal to do. STAY AWAY read more

A little disappointing. I expected a nice design but got an extension of the design we had already came up with. We asked for something low maintenance and the initial design had over 100 plants, all of which would require maintenance. Either not listening or just want to make some easy money. Cost per plant was also outrageous particularly for a landscape contractor. Not worth the money when so many other contractors will design something for nothing. read more

We had no idea what to do with our backyard, so I contacted Dave to schedule a consultation. He was able to ask my husband and I all of the right questions so that we could get the best use out of the space.
