This review is long overdue. This is a family owned business that offers comprehensive service. It's a father and 3 sons with mastery of both electrical and plumbing. They installed an EV wall charger, did electrical in the bathroom, installed hardwired ceiling smoke and CO detectors, kitchen under cabinet lights, electrical on the outside of my home, and 6 Panasonic ceiling fans with lights. They cleaned up after everyday which is very important. My current 5 star contractor left nails in the driveway and on my artificial turf which upset my wife immensely. We had another big project and their price was not competitive so we went to another 5 star Yelp contractor. The only issue that my wife had was when they installed the EV charger, they had to open up the drywall and did not patch and simply placed a blue painter tape on the rectangular hole. My current contractor will be patching the hole as a complimentary service. I requested for a Tesla Powerwall 3 installation and additional solar panels so I will update if they secured the bid or not. read more

I sent a request through yelp to get my self purchased Level2 EV charger installed at home. Carlos reached out and was able to come by my home quickly within my request for an estimate. Around this time the Bay area was having intense storms, and he was willing to work quickly with me since I was anxious to get my charger installed. Anyone who has a drip charger at home with an EV knows why! I really appreciated his patience with my questions in lieu of circumstances that he and his company had to deal with during the storm. Once the permit was obtained, he offered to come out ASAP for the job. His team worked quickly, everything was clean looking and they were professional. He even made sure to follow up with me to make sure my charger amperage was at the desired level, and made an in person follow up to be sure of it. I couldn't have asked for more. I did not have a comparable quote from another company, but I feel like the cost for the job was reasonable. My garage didn't have the main breaker nearby, OR the outlet to support the charger. So more material than your average charger install I'm sure was needed. My city also had a lot to request for the permit, and certain criteria that I wasnt expecting, but they handled it no problem. My husband and I were looking for electrician to replace our main electrical panel. The panel had to be in front of the house because of PG&E requirement for it to be 3 ft away from the gas line. We wanted it semi flush mount so the conduit can be hidden behind the siding for better curb appeal. We also had very specific requirements for the the wire go through the attic and floor joists to a subpanel in our garage. Carlos was on time and courteous. He patiently listened to our requirements, make recommendations and explained to us how it would be done. Since the wire from main panel to subpanel had to go through a few floor joists, we requested option for copper wire so that the holes needed to be drilled would be smaller. He was able to accommodate with just an increase in material cost with no additional labor. His estimate was competitive. It also included repairing the siding and drywall which other electrical contractors do not. This is their one big advantage because they also do general construction. Most other electrical contractors wanted a cookie cutter approach by insisting on surface mount because it's more expedient for them not to deal with siding and drywall, thus not really listening to our needs, and trying to steer us towards what they want, not what we want. read more

We originally hired Carlos Jr. to replace some lighting in our kitchen after my wife saw a post of his work on Facebook. When he came over to do the job he brought his father along with him and we got to talking about how we wanted to remodel eventually. Carlos Sr. as it turns out had years of experience so we ended up hiring him and his crew to do our remodel and we couldn't be more pleased. They completely renovated our 1990's kitchen/master bathroom as well as laid down hardwood flooring downstairs. They also completely replaced the wood beneath the carpet in our master bedroom because the builders of the house didn't have it up to spec. Dealing with them was an absolute delight. Great communication and had some great ideas for us when we would kinda get stuck in deciding what we wanted. A lot of it was on the fly and they were extremely patient. They spent hours in the store with my wife when she was trying to pick out flooring and went to Oakland to pick up all the stuff for our bathroom. We really appreciated the fact that it was always the same 4-5 guys at the house instead of seeing new faces every day. It got to a point that we trusted them so much we just gave them a key to the house. As far as their work all I can say is we are 120% satsfied. They took so much time and care with everything. We had a little work done by somebody else and the craftsmanship looked amateurish compared to Carlos and the guys. I still remember when our new appliances got delivered and Carlos Sr. went over every single square inch of every item to ensure there were no scratches. The pride they take in their work is unmistakable. I'd post some pics but a lot of our renovation is already posted on this page. I will not hesitate in the future to hire them again. Gandaras recently redid our electric and then our kitchen in a large remodel. From start to finish the service by Carlos junior and senior was professional and the end results were phenomenal. We had nob and tube wiring that they removed and then proceeded to upgrade the entire home adding new labels and 25 over head lights. We wanted a luxury kitchen and they delivered all at great pricing. This is a family business and I can't tell you how kind and nice this family is. These are people you'd want to have at a bbq! I recently bought a townhouse and it needed electrical work. I posted the job here on yelp and got messages from several electricians. However, the other electricians were not responsive after the initial message. I told Carlos that I needed 3 outlets to be replaced with GFCI outlets and I need two damaged outlets to be fixed. Carlos provided a quote and asked for my availability. I chose to proceed with Carlos and his team because of how instantaneous his responses were. On the day of the appointment, the electrician (Bryan) was at the front door a few minutes early. Unfortunately, I was running late and he had to wait for me. I showed Bryan all of the outlets and light switches that I wanted to replace. Bryan studied the electrical panel and the outlets near the sinks. After studying the outlets, Bryan told me that the outlets near the sinks are all GFCI protected and do not need replacement. The outlets looked like regular outlets so I was a bit confused. Byan explained to me how they are GFCI protected and even showed me which GFCI outlets were protecting those regular outlets. Since I was still confused, Bryan explained to me in detail how GFCI outlets work and how the electricity in my property is wired. I was incredibly impressed by how knowledgeable he is and how honest he is. Bryan told me that those regular outlets do not need replacements since they are protected and it is up to me if I would like him to replace them with actual GFCI outlets. Bryan proceeded to work on the two damaged (burnt/disconnected) outlets. After fixing the damaged outlets, he proceeded to replace the broken light switches. We decided to move with our son Carlos and add to his home a master bedroom with bathroom, a family room and an outside patio, together with a new driveway, and design it in a way that when remodeling was finished it looked as an original built home. A very good friend of us, an international interior designer recommended us Mr William Gandara of Gandara Construction Company, with whom she had worked before and was very pleased with his work. We took her word and called Mr. Gandara to set a meeting with him and explained what we wanted to do and our expectations. Explained who we were, being a Civil Engineer myself, having built both overseas and in South Florida as developer and contractor. We felt very comfortable with him and set a meeting. He arrived on time and brought over his architect, both very understanding, courteous and knowledgeable. Explained fully whom his structural engineer, electrician, plumber, roofer, supervisor and rest of team were. We explained to his architect what we required and asked William to get back to us with a turnkey contract including a draft of the addition. A week after he came back with a contract, a floor plan and a perspective of the new construction. We made some adjustments to the plans and his quote was very reasonable, so we accepted his pricing without asking for a discount. We were very fortuitus in working with William. He always answered our calls, was punctual on time, was on top of the job daily, met on time all inspectors, had excellent crews working for him, finished on time, which is not an easy thing to accomplish, worked very clean and Omelio, his foreman was more than helpful throughou. We ended up becoming family friends with William and his lovely wife Janette, and for sure we will use him and his firm in other future construction projects.
