That's why I'm so thrilled to see Dupe's Scoops take over the space and bring ice cream back where it belongs. On a recent visit to town, we stopped by and I went with the cookies and cream hand-scooped in a waffle cone--delicious, classic, and just what I was hoping for. The staff were incredibly kind, the pricing was very reasonable, and the vibe was all-around welcoming. One of the biggest improvements? The new seating area! It's a great spot to sit down, relax, and actually enjoy your ice cream without rushing back to the car. This is such a great addition to the area, and I'll definitely be making a return stop on future trips to Wheeling!

This place does not have any real internet presence. In fact, I'm just now adding their listing to Yelp with this review. SMART Centre Market is definitely a hidden gem. It's well hidden from everyone, but it shouldn't be. This place is great! I just happened to come upon SMART Centre Market when visiting Wheeling. They have a gigantic dinosaur torso busting out of the front of their brick building. "What the heck is that?" I thought. And then: "That looks derivatively like the dinosaur that's busting out of the front of The Children's Museum of Indianapolis." Well, after talking to one of the owners of SMART, it turns out that the dinosaur at the front of the building is in fact based on the dinosaurs at The Children's Museum! How weird to be so far away from Indy and yet come across something so dear to my heart where I live? Anyway, SMART has all kinds of dinosaur treasures to look at, including displays of fossils. There are STEM toys to play with, books to read, and science-related things to purchase if the mood strikes you. The store used to be the site of a bank, so the restroom is inside a safe! You have to see it to believe it. SMART Centre Market might just have the most interesting restroom in all of Wheeling. I didn't get to visit the ice cream parlor inside SMART Centre Market, but I did peek inside, and there were several flavors of ice cream to choose from. There are little tables in the ice cream parlor, so you can sit and enjoy your ice cream before or after perusing the rest of SMART Centre. The owners are former science teachers. They have a real interest and passion in STEM topics and dinosaurs, which you can tell just by visiting. They also love interacting with children! My children were delighted by them, and my youngest asked me if we could visit again the next day. SMART Centre Market offers classes and camps for kids throughout the year -- just visit their social media to learn what they are and when they take place.

We went there over Memorial Day weekend. There was a lady there. I let her know that her daughter…read more(4 years old) had a peanut allergy and she refused to serve us. She told us that somebody from a neighboring store serve somebody with a nut allergy and went to the emergency room and is now attempting to sue Cold Stone. I did let her know that we were in earlier in the week and they were able to get the ice cream in the back and use clean utensils. And she refused. There is no signage stating anywhere on allergies or cross-contamination. There is never been an issue before and we have been there a lot. I have called the general manager and the corporate office trying to find their policies and procedures regarding this matter. And I have yet to get a phone call back From either of them.

For several years, I have shopped at this store off and on. During my most recent visit in mid-February, I saw many boxes of chocolates for Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine's Day, and they were priced at 50% off. Of course, I also saw many regularly priced boxes of in-season chocolates. These chocolates were available in dark, milk, and white and had fillings such as creams (e.g., butter, coconut, orange, raspberry, strawberry, and vanilla), nuts (e.g., almond, cashew, peanut, pecan, and walnut), and many others (e.g., brownie, caramel, toffee, and white-chocolate truffle). Some flavors were sugar-free. I also saw other sweet treats such as gourmet caramel apples, hard candies, gummy candies, fudges, chocolate-covered strawberries and pretzels, and ice creams. My favorite product to buy is the 3-pound box of "bloopers" chocolates. Compared to a few years ago, the price for the bloopers has increased. I now paid $28 for two 3-pound boxes, which is still a bargain. One employee gave my husband and me a free sample of milk chocolate, and she promptly and politely rang up our purchase and thanked us. When we got home, I opened the boxes and saw a mixture of dark and milk chocolates. I have not yet eaten all of them, but the boxes appear to include a variety of flavors. The bloopers are misshapen, too big, too small, or stuck together. They still taste good!
