The staff members were friendly; however, the office appeared to be overbooked, and I felt that the dental work was rushed. I was scheduled to receive two zirconia crowns with titanium abutments.
During my first visit, the doctor was kind, but a screw from my implant fell into the back of my mouth and nearly went down my throat. I almost choked, and the situation could have become very serious. Thankfully, I was able to remove it before swallowing it.
Before my second visit, I called one day in advance to confirm that my crowns were ready. After traveling from Los Angeles to Tijuana, I was told that they were not ready. I waited approximately three hours in total, including about an hour for the crowns to be placed.
I was extremely disappointed with the crowns' material, shape, fit, and color. I contacted the office, sent photographs, and requested a partial refund, but I did not feel that they took accountability for the quality of the work.
I later had to visit a dentist in the United States to have my front crown corrected. That dentist agreed that the shape and color were noticeably off. They also confirmed that the crown had been cemented and that a titanium abutment had not been used as I had requested.
Based on my experience, I recommend carefully considering whether the travel and possible follow-up complications are worth it. It may be safer and more practical to have this type of dental work completed locally, especially if corrections are later needed.
