Best dentist I've ever had. Did implant, crown and cleaning. Very thorough and very reasonable prices.

I called and was able to get in last minute appointments , parking was kind of a headache though. I got there and my friend went first, they helped her while I walked to an ATM because it's cash only; i got seen shortly after I returned. Once we were done we got our prescription and we were out of there. Clean facility and very friendly staff of 2. I got two root canals and crowns for a fraction of the cost in the US. But more importantly, the equipment, the people, the help navigating the area and getting picked up at the border was lovely. To say that I was apprehensive would be an understatement, I was doing this based on reviews and desperation .I has no first hand experience . I didn't speak a word of Spanish ( well I can say thank you but that's about it) The equipment they had was better than what my old dentist used. (my first time seeing a 3-D image of my mouth) I got better treatment than I would've gotten in the US. I was able to opt for the more expensive crowns because it was so much cheaper than what I had been quoted for cheapest one in the US. I also got dental implant as well. but I have to wait for my mouth to heal before getting crowns put on . I will come back later to give an updated review on the implants. The staff is very friendly. The dentist who saw me only spoke Spanish but had an interpreter. The dentist only relied on X-ray to diagnose my tooth ache. After consulting with an X-ray specialist, the dentist prescribed a pain killer & anti inflammatory pill. They meds helped relief some pain but did not resolve the root of the problem. When I was able to see my own dentist, he also thought the x-ray looked okay, but did extra tests and determined that the nerve of my tooth ws dead which required either a root canal or extraction. To recap, the dentist was very nice and gentle, but may lack experience on more serious issues. read more

Recently started coming here for my kids ortho. The price compared to the states are not comparable. Super affordable with monthly payments, clean and great dentist. The only reason for my 4 star is not because of the employees but because parking is an issue & waiting room is really small. You need to park on metered street but they also have a service where they can pick you up in the border so you don't need to drive in and that to me was icing on the cake. If you do decide to drive in they do offer medical pass but you need to pay for it. read more

The customer service and communication goes above and beyond anything I've ever experienced at any type of medical clinic. I was referred to this place by a family member who had been here before. After a few months, I am happy to announce that they have completed all my dental work and I am very very happy with the results, their professionalism, knowledge, pricing, and HONESTY! I was initially referred to a different dentistry with an office that looked aesthetically better HOWEVER, that place ridiculously over exaggerated the work I needed on my teeth, to the point where it was almost insulting! I was relieved to have come to this clinic and have a doctor who was very honest with the work that I needed done and didn't just try to rob me of my money, like the last place! My review might be kind of long but I have had quite the "journey" with Downtown Dental and Dr. Jacobo! I've had issues with my teeth for quite a while and through all the horrible toothaches and pain I've always thought I'd like to extract all of them and get implants. I've done so much research and through that I decided I wanted the implants supported denture that you can take out and clean daily. In the USA this peocedure can cost around 100K for full mouth implants (at least in San Diego) so I decided to search for a reputable dentist in TJ. I previously went to a few other places and had them check out my mouth and situation and the lack of communication and follow up from other clinics was horrible. I was getting a little discouraged after going for CT scans and evaluations with no word back from anyone. I still wanted to do it so I kept searching. I found Downtown Dental online and sent a message noting my situation and needs. Gabriel was fantastic at communicating with me. We setup the appointment and I went to talk with the Dr. Jacobo. He was super kind and I liked that the setup to the office wasn't all out in the open making the patient some kind of spectacle. We went over the options and had a serious talk about what he thinks I should and shouldn't do but in the end i decided to move forward with the implants situation. As I had planned in March to do this the Coronavirus outbreak had started to come to light and everything started to shut down. I really appreciate Downtown Dental for keeping my appointment, it's honestly probably the best time that i could have to do this because I needed to wear dentures while the implants heal. (thank God I can wear a mask !!!) The extractions and implant placement was painless! I appreciate Dr. Jacobo for being gentle with me and trying to prevent my face from getting huge bruises. The painful parts were getting numb and healing. Dr. Jacobo prescribed to me great medicine for pain, it helped a lot. During the healing process Gabriel was great at keeping me updated and asking if I needed to check up. Due to the pandemic I was a little hesitant to visit at first. After a while I couldn't wait any longer. My denture didn't fit anymore so finally I came back to visit. To my surprise my hesitation was calmed noting that they're checking everyone's temperatures and everyone keeps a mask on except when I had to get stuff done to my mouth. I am finally finished and the end result looks good, if you want to see before /after photos then you can ask him to show you in person. I don't really want to post it on my personal Yelp because my old teeth because they made me feel super insecure about opening my mouth. We didn't have time to take a final photo but hopefully we will during my next checkup! I really can't express how grateful I am for the patience, thoroughness and understanding that Dr. Jacobo, Gabriel, Maricella (sorry if i spelled the names wrong) and cheerful mood everyone had. I will recommend Downtown Dental to anyone looking for a great dentist who will make you feel at ease and not overcharge you. An update to my dental experience at Downtown Dental in Tijuana. Yesterday was my final appointment for two dental implants. It was a total of 4 or 5 visits, including the consultation. I'm so happy with the finished results - the implants look amazing! It was one third the cost to get the implants at this office versus my old dentist in San Diego. Their office is spotless and they follow all the usual protocols for sterilization and cleaning. Dr. Zuniga and his staff are wonderful! I absolutely recommend this office! read more

Location: very close to border and easy to find. The neighborhood is average and very busy street but the office space is clean modern and quiet. Communication: they are so good about rescheduling and keeping track of dates. They get back to you ASAP via Facebook. I was late and they were so nice and accommodating. Dr Diana: she attended me today. super friendly, took time to get accurate history. Explained what I needed and asked me what I wanted to do for that appointment. I have about 10 cavities but only had time to get about two fixed. Dr J: also super friendly, explained to me why I needed my wisdom teeth out and how to maintain cleanliness for the time being. I'm planning to get them taken out after my cavities are all fixed. Staff: also friendly and helpful. I think her name was Paulina. Super nice. Price: decent price for cavities 45 just as they advertise on Facebook , I've been to another dentist not too far from their location and it was beyond expensive. So I'm so happy about that because I have a lot of them. Wisdom teeth price is not the cheapest ive heard about $$$ it's actually the same quote as the other dentist I went to. But I think that's just bc my situation of how my wisdom teeth are positioned. Which I understand it's a fair price. I won't share price bc it varies per patient, wouldn't be fair. After reading reviews on a number of websites I set an appointment at 3 different dental offices to get x-rays and consultation. After going to all three I decided on Downtown Dental Clinic, even though it wasn't the least expensive one it was the one that made me feel the most comfortable. Came here based off of reviews online. Got an upper labial frenectomy for a torn frenulum and gummy smile. It was painless with the numbing medicine and Dr Jacobo and Dr Diana made sure I was comfortable and my needs were met throughout it. Even called me the day after to check on me. The prescribed medication seem to be doing their job and there is minimal post swelling. Price was very affordable. The clinic is clean, secure and cooled. Staff is friendly and value your concerns. They answered all questions I had. They do not sway you from your desires and will grant what you search for. Office hours are also very convenient and open Monday through Saturday. Offers USA phone number to reach them at as well if you do not have service to call Mexican numbers. Tijuana is just like any other city. It is an overall clean, friendly city and easy to get around. Tons of safe public transportation with Taxi Libre (white and orange colored taxi) and Uber and very close to the USA border. Many speak or understand english due to its location.
