    The text message I received letting me know that "an appointment is required or else you will not be able to pickup your glasses"

    Once Upon a time, Visiting San Dimas Optometry used to be an incredibly pleasant and fulfilling experience. However, the customer service has been declining recently. Don't get me Wrong, Dr. Garrat is the best! and when I had to have my eyes checked out for some structural anomalies, I was able to be diagnosed within an hour and I have to say that it was one of the most rewarding experiences in visiting a doctor. However, recently, it seems as if the staff within the office is using the Pandemic as an excuse to provide subpar customer service. On my last annual checkup, I was in the office for over 2.5 hours. There was no reasoning as to why it took so long for the appointment. And I had an appointment, it's not like I arrived unexpectedly at an unusually busy time. Usually, these appointments only last an hour, and that's what I budgeted my time for. I understand that there are additional precautions needed because of the pandemic, but it seems as if that is an excuse to extend a patient's appointment by 150% that it usually is. I ordered lenses at that appointment and then received a text message to "please call before you come in to schedule pick up". I scheduled my entire week with the intention of visiting San Dimas Optometry today to pick up my glasses. However, when I did "call before I come in" I was told that I need an appointment in order to pick up my glasses. Now I cant get my glasses until next week, and my entire schedule of the week is thrown off and I'm stuck with poor vision until then. I tried my best to express that it is a little frustrating that the text message did not indicate that an appointment was needed to get the glasses and that this frustration could have been avoided if the text message was a little bit more detailed. However, the representative on the phone became argumentative and said that "that is what the text message stated", I emphasized that I'm not trying to be mean or anything, I just wanted to express that it is frustrating that the requirements of glasses pickup were not detailed enough to communicate that I would be unable to pick up the glasses without an appointment. The representative remained defensive. I realized that my message was not going to get across. and I then told her "I must have misread the text", in order to get rid of the phone in an amicable way. All I want to express is that these 2 experiences of mine have indicated that this doctor's office is not what it used to be. Not sure if the pandemic is being used as an excuse for lower quality service, or if Doctor Garrat is starting to phase himself out, but the overall experience is declining. These are just two of my personal experiences, My fiance has other frustrating experiences recently and we both have been visiting for years. I hope this message is read by the staff and efforts are taken to improve the customer experience. It's just not worth driving all the way out there to receive sub-par service.

    This office use to have higher standards. New staff, poor customer service. They act like their there for a paycheck with no regard for any of patients that keep this business running, no warmth, understanding or even an ounce of friendly demeanor. They answer the phone well but when you go in it's a different story. And during Covid, one of the girls had the longest fake nails, super unhygienic. A poor reflection of the standards allowed and implemented at a time when we have a full blown pandemic. Sad state for a beautiful town such as San dimas. The Optometrist not so bad but the rest of the newbies bring down this business with so much potential. Never going back...

    Why bother sending an email out on January 5 when I get told that I cannot make an appointment until after January 12.

    Long wait and poor service. Twice had to leave because after 45 minutes to an hour of waiting they did not even start the exam.

Meagan helped me fall in love with what I see--because for the first time, I could actually see! I'm serious. I saw Dr. Ishi, who I seriously cannot recommend enough -- she's truly amazing. She helped me figure out that my previous experience at Costco Optical has, in fact, been totally useless and wholly inaccurate--my prescription has been off for like...10 years??? No wonder I can't see at night! Ha ha! Turns out, my bizarre and highly astigmatismed eyeballs happen to be both nearsighted and farsighted on each respective side..and thus require a certain amount of due diligence and attention--all of which I have never experienced at any other optometrist prior to coming to this place. Literally, one side of my contact prescription was off by 1.5 points or whatever they use to measure it--i mean, what?? Should I contact my car insurance to dispute any claim against any minor car accidents that I may or may not have been involved in over the past DECADE since I LITERALLY COULDN'T SEE!!!?? Dr. Ishi is incredible. Megan is a sweetheart who helped me pick glasses that not only fit, but ~*flattered*~ my large and in charge face. Because of this wonderful team, I can FINALLY see for the first time in my life. Can't recommend this place enough! 10/10. Ps; and not to be super creepy or anything...as I still don't know that deep and mysterious voice I heard but I think I'm low key in love. I seriously can't wait to go back!! But next time, I think I'll wear makeup! Although idk maybe i won't bc what if they put drops in my eye and my mascara runs??? Only time will tell...stand by for updates ).

    Today I visited Spectrum Eyecare for the first time and it was an appointment booked about 2 to 3…read moreweeks ago. The receptionist Riley, the technician April, the optometrist Dr. Ishii and the optician Megan were all very nice and patient. These ladies including the optometrist are very professional, respectful and knowledgeable. They all did a fantastic job helping me. The process was very smooth and took less than an hour. The visit was a pleasant experience and I wish I had come here for glasses earlier. I can't wait to have my new pair of glasses from Spectrum Eyecare. I was told it's going to take around 3 weeks. It's the holiday season now so it's understandable that it's taking longer than usual. I recommend Spectrum Eyecare to anyone who needs an eye doctor and glasses Updated Jan 3 2025: Today I picked up my new glasses from Spectrum Eyecare Optometry. The glasses are beautiful and perfect! I am so happy with my new glasses and the wonderful service provided by all the staff of Spectrum Eyecare !

    I love my LA Readers glasses. Short version: look great, super comfortable and light, well made…read more(spring hinge), lifetime guarantee, great price, great customer service. Long version: I've gone through so many pairs of affordable readers; they always eventually break. I also bought super cool, expensive Italian frames for prescription lenses, and though they look good, they hurt the bridge of my nose and I don't enjoy wearing them. I've bought dramatic, angular cat-eye readers online that also look good, but the arms pinched my skull. So I was pleasantly surprised that the pair I got from LA Readers, the black Calabasas, both look good and are really comfortable. They have a sturdy hinge and yet are also light and comfy; I can barely feel that I'm wearing them. There's more to the story. Though I'd ordered black frames, the pair that arrived were a sort of translucent gray. Since I didn't find an option for gray on their site, I figured they had a *very* flexible concept of what counts as "black." I was thinking of sending them back but decided they were so comfortable I'd keep them, especially since I've tried so many other pairs from various vendors that were all either boring or uncomfortable or both. Plus, LA Readers offers a lifetime guarantee--which is perfect since I'm really good at breaking glasses. So, anyway, I was happy with my decision and then, one day a couple months later, I felt like emailing LA Readers and pointed out that, while I'd kept the gray ones, I'd actually requested the black ones, and wondered if they'd ever have actually black Calabasas frames again. Crystal at LA Readers immediately responded, apologizing for my having received the wrong color. She said it must have been a mix-up with the stock since they don't even sell the gray ones online. She told me she'd send me the black frames I'd originally ordered right away. Basically, she was super apologetic and super friendly. I responded saying that she'd made my day--which was extra exciting since it was also my birthday. Crystal responded saying, Since it's your birthday, I'm also sending you a complimentary hard-shell case. (!) Basically, these people are awesome. Highly, highly recommended.

    Being "of that age", I have been wearing glasses for the last two decades, to help with short…read moredistance reading. Originally I went to an optometrist and got a prescription. When I forgot my glasses at work (over the weekend), I visited the local pharmacy and was introduced to "Readers"... I could see just as well with these over-the-counter glasses, and at a far reduced cost. When I was introduced to the offerings of LA Readers, I discovered stylish designs that cost far less (80%) than prescription glasses, and were something that I could order from home - no appointments - no traveling/waiting in the office - and I could choose a style/color that suited me. I don't believe that I will ever go back to prescription glasses... thank you, LA Readers, for making my life simple!
