We received five or six bars of the peppermint soap for Christmas and they were just meh, nothing special. They weren't especially fragrant, and really didn't lather much at all. I'm not sure what is "magical" about this brand of soaps. Of the folks I grew up with, know, and am friends with, I can only think of one person who prefers bar soaps - and that's my sweet Momma. Most use the foaming soap pumps for hand washing and shower gels for showering. Regardless, Hubs was pretty enthusiastic about trying the Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap! He's a fan or both the taste of peppermint, which he enjoys in teas and the fragrance of peppermint. For me, the peppermint soap just languished in our shower. Hubs tried it repeatedly and reported it "wasn't that great," after using it several times. I don't know if he used all the bars we received. Although a nice gesture at Christmas time, these soap bars were wasted on my family. It seems many other Yelpers enjoy this brand, so I hope you continue to! read more

Great products that I use often, I love how the products are versatile. They also have great fragrances that linger.

Was a loyal consumer for the last 30 years. As the founders have passed and the family business has grown quality has diminished. They obviously changed suppliers of ingredients. I'm super sensitive. When companies change suppliers or ingredients it shows up in my physical body. They traded quality and lost integrity. Now they are losing me and my family, friends, and people who have shared similar experience. They tested well years prior through Mamavation with their unscented baby liquid soap and all purpose cleaner soap. But my body never lies and the skin reactions are not worth it. Such a bummer! Wonderful company with wonderful products! They use regenerative organic fair trade ingredients, and almost everything is vegan except for the organic bees wax they use in the balms. They are renowned for their generous employee benefits and it is a great place to work - it is hard to get a job there because no one ever wants to leave! Dr. Bronner's is a third-generation family owned business and the family maintains a 5:1 salary cap so even the owners do not make more than 5x the lowest paid vested employee. They give away any money they don't need for operating the business - usually it is like 40% of profits that are donated to charitable causes. Dr. Bronners is one of the first castille soaps that I was introduced to. They have an interesting history; just watch the documentary if you are curious. I think that all of their products are great from soaps, to toothpaste, to lipbalm. I have not been to the Vista location but I did frequent the Escondido shop quite regularly. It is very hard to find this product in stores. You can order off Amazon, but 99% of the time, the package and product arrive damaged. I decided to order straight from the companies website. They never stste on their website how long shipping can take. My shipment took several days before they even created the FedEx label. I do not live too far from their headquarters, but they decided to ship from somewhere in Nevada. It took several days as their free shipping is through FedEx Smart post (which is the worst service provided by Fedex). My package was undeliverable due to an address error inputted wrong from the shipping department. There is no way to get a hold of FedEx, and the automated system won't let you Change the address on anything shipped via smart post. I called the company, and the girl I talked to said it was an issue on the FedEx side. I told her I believe the suite # was cut off when they printed the label out. She told me she would call the shipping department to get it handled and would send me an email with an update. Ahebalso said that if it is not fixed, FedEx will return the package to the shipper. Dr Bronners will create another shipmentwhich would take another 10 days. It has been over 2 days, and I still have not received the email. Just received an update from FedEx that the box is damaged, and the shipper wants the package back. Worst customer service from this company. If you order from their website, spring for the shipping that is not free. Good luck if you ever need to contact customer service for the company. i would not recommend this brand of soap products or this brand at all. the castile soap is quite drying and can be irritating.

Yesterday I had the good fortune of getting 2 bottles of peppermint hand sanitizer from a neighbor what a blessing,I strayed it on my hands and on my mask,yes I'm still wearing a mask cause I live in nyc,we are going into cold& flu season and many people are coughing without covering their mouths oy.Anyway i was immediately in heaven the fragrance was so uplifting,I'm sure that when i get on the elevator other people will feel the same way!! I was originally introduced to Dr Bronner's hand spray by an acupuncturist,she was using lavender and I purchased a couple of bottles from Amazon but I dont know how fresh they were cause the smell was mild,despite that it does work well if I spray it on my pillows,it helps me to sleep,infect I think I'm going to get some to gift my drs, I'm holistic...into vitamins etc,aromatherapy.Sometimes I feel like I'm selling drugs but I don't give up easily.I didn't know Dr Bronner's soap contains hemp cause I really don't use the soap,I like Meyer's there one fragrance that makes me think of my grandmother.But I'm definitely going to investigate their other products...and spread the word to my massage and acupuncture students.Thank you dear neighbor for introducing me to something new!! read more

My daughter got eczema when she was a toddler so I had to stop using Baby soap and anything with chemicals as all of it irritates her skin. I ordered one gallon of lavender and 6 bar soap on 3/16/20 and they charged my credit card I live in California and I still haven't received my items. They don't answer their phones and they don't reply your emails. One day I emailed them and told them I would be connecting Better Business Bureau so they emailed me to tell me they had a high volume so I replied if that is the case then why charge me if they knew they couldn't fill and mail my order. I talked to the company owner, Michael Bronner today and in the middle of our conversation, she said good bye and hang up on me. How rude and unprofessional. I called back, but they never picked up the phone. I sent their bar soaps to Japan and the Japanese customs contacted me because their soaps have hemp oil, and the Japanese customs will not allow any products contain the hemp products unless I provide that the product is made from only the grown stem of the hemp and/or seeds; excluding sap. Anyway, that was all I needed from them to provide to the customs in order for my gift to a friend in Japan to clear customs, but they had me to wait a week to give me an answer which was they might contain the grown leaves in their products and they can only give the ingredients to the certified distributors. I understand that. I wanted to ask something else if they can't provide the letter, but the owner, Michael Bronner hang up on me while I was speaking to him. He has such a short temper and was very irritated to deal with something does not profit him. I have to give up the soaps that I sent to Japan because what I wanted to ask, if their soaps sold in Japan are from USA, not specially made for Japan, was not answered by the owner hanging up the phone.
