The only automated car wash where they have one or two people washing in the beginning and one or tel two people at the end to wipe down the car. I went to this location twice and was happy with my car wash. The men do a great job wiping down and spraying water to areas that may not be reached by the giant brushes/sponges. My car had some dirt marks and bird poop and it all came off. I was content. They do get busy but the wash goes by pretty quick. Prices are reasonable as I paid $22 for my wash and the guys wiped down any remaining water at the end. Please don't forget to tip the guys as they work very hard! read more

I've been going here for years, and they are always updating things to make the business and customer experience better and better. The guys are very nice and thorough. In the wash tunnel, the guys do the very important step of rinsing off and pre-washing the car to get rid of any grit that might accumulate on the rotating cloths in the tunnel, which would create scratches and swirl marks on the paint. I've never been to a tunnel car wash where the air dryers are able to thoroughly dry a car, but they have guys on the weekend who will towel dry your car at the end (I usually give them a tip). If you visit on a weekday, be sure to bring a small towel to quickly dry off your car. There is a spot where there are vacuums that you can pull into to do this ... and vacuum your car, of course! I've also used the interior cleaning service and for what they do, the prices are more than reasonable. The waiting area is well-appointed, with a couple of corner desks where you can sit and do work, study, etc., (pictures posted), and a separate area with a comfy couch, two comfy chairs, a tv, a coffee station, bottles of water, and bathrooms, and is kept very clean. It's been recently updated and well-thought out. I have a feeling I'll be coming here for many more years! read more

Brought my car to Dr. Detail because I had a gift certificate. Asked for the works. Car wash, interior detailing, carpets shampooed, etc. Was told it would take a couple of hours. Came back to pick it up and first off all there was still bird poop residue on the side of my car. I called a guy over and pointed it out. He called another guy over who was supposed to clean it off. I pointed out tree sap on the hood. He said they can't get tree sap off. He had an attitude. Fine. It was hot and humid. I opened the rear car door and looked inside. No Weathertech mat. I go back. Where's my mat? Oh, here it is. Let me wash it for you. Get home and notice they didn't get the gummy residue off the console between my seats. AND found more bird poop the guy was probably too short to reach and couldn't be bothered getting a stool to reach it. And, no, it wasn't new bird poop. One good thing was the carpets came out nice. This is a hidden Gem in the parking garage in the Cambridgeside galleria. This man goes the extra mile to do a excellent job. His prices are far below any one else. I always give him extra because he is so pleasant to deal with and does great work. On high end cars he uses spectacular products that really do well and do not damage clear coats. I can't say enough good things about this place It was the best car wash experience I ever had. He made my Jaguar look and smell like new.I see these other reviews and I am surprised but also not surprised people blame this poor place for everything. If you pay 26$ the guy should not be working on your car for a hour. Sucks to be in service business. Paolo is the nicest person and always does a great job. I am regular here for my car interior cleaning: one of my most recent visit there was a guy who took car in.. did interior express clean.. next thing I notice my ac vent was completely broken. It was just put together as if it's not broken,, when I got into car and close the door it fell off.. I spoke to him he denied any wrong doing.. he was accusing me of lying.. the guy was arrogant and harsh. To be fair, also, I am very regular to this place for my car wash.. I mean yes you get a car wash here. There are better places though. Have to pay for vacuum's. Other places there free. It is like a dump by the vacuums there is trash scattered every where. If you care and like cars just don't go though the car wash. I pay for the platinum and im not sure it is any different then the silver. I had an interior cleaning and carpet shampooing done on my Subaru Crosstrek. After a long winter, my car was full of sand, dirt, and who knows what else. I dropped off my car around noon, and it was ready to go by 4 o'clock. I could not have been any happier with how my car looked. When I say the car looked brand new, I'm talking it looked like I was pulling out of the dealership for the first time. The prices vary on the size of your car, and my car was considered to be bigger than I thought it was. The workers were very nice and charged me for the price I thought it was, as it was my first time going to Dr. Detail. This review is just about the car wash, and not the detailing services, which I haven't used and therefore can't speak to. :) Summary: I suppose if you have a lighter color car that doesn't show dirt as fast, or you just don't care that much, Dr. Detail's wash will work just fine for you. Otherwise, it's really nothing special. Soapbox version: I'm a little obsessive about my car, and since it's black, when it's dirty it just drives me crazy. Today it was a ghost of its former self (literally - it was encrusted in salt, and looking at me very sadly and resentfully), so I wound up at Dr. Detail. You have a choice of several washes; today I chose the $11.99 one, which is your basic wash, no vacuum, nothing really special about it (they do also have a very very basic $7.99 exterior wash). I drove up, handed the guy my Amex, put the car in neutral, and was sent through the wash, wistfully remembering how exciting this was when I was a kid, and how now it's just something you do to get your car clean. Those big blue brushes would have had me screaming in delight when I was 7. :) When the ride was over I drove into one of the self-serve vacuum/rug shampoo spots to check it out. The first thing I noticed when I got out of the car was that the blue and green sparklies in my paint were all back, shining happy in the bright sunlight. On the whole, the car was pretty clean. Dry, however, it was not, and with the roads totally powdery with salt right now, that's bad since by the time I got home it would be completely spotted again. So I grabbed the cloths out of the back and went to work. It took me about 15 minutes to get everything dry, and my front end was still a bit dirty, especially around the fogs (the scoop was clean though, which I wasn't expecting). Anyway, when I add it all up, I have to say that Dean St. Car Wash is a better deal. If I fill up with gas at Rojo first, the Gold wash is only $4 more than this one cost, the interior gets vacuumed, the wheels and front end get a bit of a scrub (albeit perfunctory), and it gets hand-dried afterward. I still wind up doing some hand-drying myself anyway, but not nearly to the extent I did today (I had to work on it more when I got it home - I DID say I'm obsessive, okay?). read more

I've been here 2 or 3 times and I'll be going back because I have gift certificates. In general I feel as though the machine wash at this place is better than most. I've been to several drive-thru carwashes, touchless, etc. and found them to be mostly comprable. In general I feel as though if you're going in to a drive-thru car wash, you're looking for a quick clean and not a thorough clean. For a thorough clean and wax, I'll do it myself. I'm too picky about my car when it's clean (and it's not often) that I just wouldn't be happy if someone else were to do it for me. But a drive-thru carwash is perfect for the winter. I made an appointment yesterday for a car detail. Initially, I was happy to get an appointment one day later and was told to bring my car to the Marriot Hotel in Copley. I arrived at the hotel and was never told where exactly to bring the car -- He should have told me to take into the Copley Garage. When I called the number to get directions, he was very rude and said he would meet me down at the garage entrance. I drove the car to the Dr. Detail area. He inspected my car and said my leather interior was too old to be treated (I was paying for the $169 highest price detail which includes treating the leather). He was in a rush to get me out of their and was very short with me. Later today I got 6 calls in a row in a 10 minute time span. When I picked up the 6th time, he was very rude telling me - "When are you coming? I need to get out of there? Get over here now!" I told him I would get there as soon as I could. Bear in mind he initially told me it would be ready by 5pm. When I got there, he showed me the interior. For the most part, I was happy. However, the trunk and all interior compartments looked exactly the same. The seats just got a wipe down. He insisted on the $169 total cost when I wasn't getting what I paid for. This was nothing but rude, rushed service. The worst part was having to pay the Copley Garage $32 for having my car in there for 6 hours. The parking attendent told me the validation Dr. Detail normally gives is only good for 3 hours and would make the garage ticket cost $12. He never told me this. I would have used Mr. Perfection as I have in the past in the Park Plaza- they don't make you pay the garage hourly rate to have your car there and they thoroughly clean the car, all compartments, trunk etc, and return your items separately bagged. They also charge $85 if you pay for a Goupon- half the cost and 10X the level of professional service. Avoid these rude people at Dr Detail! read more

And... cash only so if anything like this would happen to a customer you have no protection. $45 out of luck. After waiting 1.5 hours for my car, I went to pick it up from the garage. Mind you, it is a bit dark down there and my car is black so I did not notice the streaks in all the windows until I drove about 5 mins away and the large water marks on the hood and trunk area until I was home, another 5 mins after. I called to receive answers on why the service was so POOR and was told that I should bring the car back and they would give me a discount on my next wash. I could not bring my car back and was told "They were trying to help me out by taking a look at the car." Dr. Detail should have just done its job. I asked for the Manager and was told "Eric is in and out." Meaning I would probably never be able to talk to him. Just don't if you are thinking about going here. This is by far the best car wash in the area. Dr. Detail is a car wash and detail center, right off Route 1 in Walpole (on Route 27, by the Walmart entrance), that is amazing. I bring my car here about twice per month, give or take, depending upon weather. Recently, they had a few errors one their website, as it said "536 High Street", when it should have been "536 High Plain Street", and the hours were a bit off. I called them up, spoke with Luis who was friendly, helpful, and assured me it would be fixed as soon as possible. Luis, along with the rest of the guys are also very efficient moving along the line, and making sure everyone gets a great, clean wash. Whenever I go to Rojo (while I love the gas station there, the car wash is somewhat sub par, while it used to be really great) or to some other car washes in the area, the back wiper on my always moves way of place, sticking out. Here, at Dr. Detail that never happens, and it always stays in place. In addition, the car wash line here is never as long, and sometimes no one at all. The price for a regular wash is $9.99, which is a bit more than more and more of the other car washes, yet is very reasonable since they do such a great job. If you bring any Big Y, Walmart, or Dunkin Donuts receipt, you will receive one dollar off too! In the parking lot there are car vacuums to clean your car as well. I haven't gone to the detail center, but with the service I've received, I would go anytime if needed. The best of the car washes in the area. 5 stars. read more

I'm a car fanatic with high end vehicles (SQ5 and M4), have tried every high end hand wash and detail center around boston and have been incredibly frustrated until I found the Cambridge Dr Detail location. So the car in front of me got the Silver wash, (she stopped at the vacuums on the other side and I asked,) her wash not only took the same amount of time as mine, and looked the same as mine, she did NOT get the wax! How does a wash with more services and and add on service take the same as a lesser? Seems fishy to me. I got my SUV detailed yesterday and although their work was good, their work ethic was awful! It seemed like a pretty slow day for them, and even so, they said it would take 4-5 hours to just do an interior detail. We decided to go through with it because we couldn't find another car detailer open on a Sunday. We stopped down after 3.5 hours and NOT ONE PERSON was detailing any of their cars - every employee was in their office doing dip and laughing. They are only open from 12-6 on Sunday which in Massachusetts does not constitute a lunch break - clearly these guys were not looking to work hard. We asked how much longer it was going to take and the guy tried to smooth talk us by saying he was doing such a great job and will need another 30 minutes. We said ok and came back 30 minutes later. He said they would need another 15 minutes...we stood there and watched as FINALLY two of them worked on the car at the same time. I will never be back to Dr Detail in Cambridge - their Chestnut Hill location was AWESOME and it is sad that they just lost a good customer. We weren't asking for much...but a 4+ hour interior detail (when the car wasn't in bad condition) is not something that I will accept. The worst part is the Cambridgeside Galleria is an awful mall and there is not much you can do there for 4 hours.... read more

I had a 3:30 appointment to have my car washed. After spending 30 minutes trying to find the place in the garage (no signage at all!) I dropped it off and they said it would take an hour and a half. That's a long time for just the inside of my sedan to be cleaned, but fine. I walked around the mall and came back at ten past 5. They hadn't even STARTED working on my car. The cleaning was fine but they wasted my time and didn't deliver as advertised. Also they don't take credit cards and you have to pay to park in the garage! So you not only pay for a car wash, you pay to get your car into the car wash. Absurd. Despite the convenient location, I won't be back. read more

I read the older mediocre reviews which compelled me to write my first ever yelp review! I think this place is great. The exterior wash is the best I've ever had from a drive through wash. I drive a modest, smallish SUV that i like to keep reasonably clean, but i'm not OCD. I'm really pleased with the results-- even the hubcaps, which I can never seem to get really clean myself, sparkle. I also recently tried the interior detail service and was pleased with the results and the reasonable price. The staff is very nice, polite and professional. As a bonus, they offer a discount if you bring a receipt from Walmart, Big Y, or Dunkin Donuts, all if which are a stone's throw from the car wash. Not sure if different people were running the place when the previous reviews were written but I would recommend this car wash to anyone. read more

We did both family cars at the same time and even the car my teenagers beat on came out looking 500% better. There was no line and I went on MLK Day. I just came out of this car wash and i HATED it....I paid 29 dollars for cleaning the inside of my minivan, and they barely hoovered it!!! I guess they think cup holders are just accesories......they are not part of the car or any plastic interior for that matter. I paid 14$ for the outside wash and it was fine, but the inside still had milk and juice drops everywhere. The worst part is that i told them about a few drops of milk that needed to be cleaned before i went back up to the mall again, and when i came back they were still there.....so i ended up cleaning everething myself. One more thing i wanted to point out is that when i got into the car and turnen on the AC, it STINKED...LITERALLY!. I do not know which rag they used, but it stinked. I accepted the new price. Upon receiving my vehicle, the cleaning had not been very thorough. I paid more and received less. I went to talk to these guys one day to find out how much it would cost to do a full detail, and make an appointment. The attendant told me it's normally $159 for a "deluxe", but because I had an oversized vehicle it would be $10 more. So I made an appointment for a full detail for 10:00AM the following day. I brought my car there at 9:55 to find nobody was there. Nobody showed up until 10:20, at which time two guys drove up, got out of their car and walked straight past me, while I was obviously standing there waiting for them to arrive. When they came back, they looked at the car, looked at me, and said "$239 for a full detail". The nerve of these guys to show up 20 minutes late without any sort of acknowledgement, and then try to charge $70 more than what I was told I would pay. Went for an interior clean. Received a call about 10 mins after dropping the car off that my brakes were really bad. Didn't think anything of it because the brakes were working just fine when I brought it the Car Wash. Took many hours. As I was paying, a worker kept telling me how my brakes were really bad again. Even telling me, it wouldn't be very safe getting home. I didn't think anything of this because the brakes have been working properly when I dropped it off. When I got in the car, it was very clean and they did an excellent job. However, when I was about to drive off, I pushed on the brake so I could put my seat belt on and it wouldn't stop moving. I had to push my foot on the brake so hard. I was genuinely terrified. The brake was almost nonexistent. I was pushing nearly onto the floor. I couldn't drive it home. Clearly, they did something to the brakes and called in the very beginning to act like it wasn't their fault. Because of this trip to the car wash, it's led to many other issues with the car to the point I can't even afford to fix it anymore. I haven't even driven the since that day and that was over 3 months ago. Thank you for ruining my car yet making it perfect on the inside. Dr. Detail in Walpole is fantastic. I drove in without an appointment and immediately got in for an exterior wash and express interior detail service. The employees are prompt about greeting you once you drive in, friendly, and they tell you what the cost of the services will be up front. This place is CLEAN, neat, waiting rooms are tidy and they offer free internet and computers. The employees are very professional--Eduardo is the best. The wash was definitely up to par (I have a black vehicle, so I'm picky), and the express interior detail great as well... just the express service was so good, it made me want to go back for the more expansive hour-long detail soon (and I will!). My fiance has been entrusting Dr. Detail with his BMWs and Escalade for detail services for years--I should have listened to him sooner! Great results. Very reasonable prices. Friendly atmosphere.
