I admit I was sceptical when Yelp provided an auto detailing shop as a 'BMW repair' option in Galveston, but my M3 was making a funny noise and they were close by. When I pulled into the parking lot I saw a bunch of self-serve car wash stations with a rambling building behind it. I couldn't even find the office door... But a young man walked up and said "hi! How can help you?" "my car is making a funny noise," I replied. "yep, I heard it as you drove up." And despite the 40-degree temps and rain, he dropped to the ground and looked under the car. "You've got a loose cover; I'll get the boss." And in a minute the owner appeared. They conferred and he said "when a bay gets empty we'll take care of you." I told them I'd go find coffee and the young man walked me over to a tiny coffee shop next door (owned by the owner's wife as it turned out). 30 minutes later the young man (sorry, I never asked his name) appeared at the coffee shop with my key!" OK, we removed the damaged cover. You're good to go." I went to the office and the owner gave me a price to install a new cover. It was great. Then he told me of his long career fixing German cars, and showed me a Bentley up on a lift being worked on. Impressive experience and shop (in a very low-key building). Overall, a great experience. Took my girlfriend's Jeep in to get a detail - $65 for "deluxe" package. The owner, Miguel, was polite, on point and attentive from the minute I pulled up. He guided me into a bay and Eddie and Devante started going to town on the beast. While I waited, Miguel told me about the coffee shop (blue house) next door, so I headed there for some morning Joe. To my surprise, Miguel's wife, Janice, owns the shop and put on a pot of Jack Daniels roast as soon as I walked in. Talk about an outstanding lady - kind, friendly, and receptive... rare. We had a nice chat and I went back to the waiting area at Dr. Detail to make a phone call and watch the tube until the car was ready to go. Total time on the jeep was maybe 1.5 hours, but the results were fantastic. Jeep looked great inside and out, and I mean great. Eddie and Devante sure did an awesome job and were very helpful and friendly. You just don't expect first-time experiences with small businesses to be like this anymore, let alone for them to be staffed with first-class folk. He is very expensive. i needed my ac to be fixed, he charged me almost 1000$, kept my car for weeks and after all of that my ac worked only2 days. When i went back , he said that he fixed one part of it and that he had to fix some other stuff, promising that this time everything will be Fine . Brought my SUV here to be detailed, chose this place bc it had the highest yelp rating in Galveston. I paid $195 for seats and carpet shampoo and what was described as overall "toothbrush clean" - which I took to mean very very clean. What I got was a very average detail job. Definitely not worth $195. Wouldn't return. 2 stars because they did do a few things relatively well. Details below. Dash: The dash was satisfactorily clean. They do use an oily cleaner (perhaps Armor All) on the dash that isn't my favorite bc the oil gets on your hands but that's just my preference; they got it clean which is what I wanted. Vacuuming: The spaces on the floor that could easily be seen were vacuumed well. There were still crumbs and whatever in the cracks between the seats and the console and a little bit of crumbs/dirt under the seats. The seats themselves were vacuumed satisfactorily. The cargo area had some dog hair in the carpet and they did not get all of that out with the vacuum. In their defense, dog hair doesn't seem to vacuum out of that carpet easily - in my defense I paid them $195 to clean my car. Shampooing: The seats are cloth and did not have any specific stains that I remember but they were shampooed and seemed cleaner than before. There were visible stains in the carpet which was one of the main reasons I paid so much to have everything shampooed. They made some sort of attempt at shampooing the carpets but it did practically nothing to these stains. When I got home and saw how little they had gotten out, I rubbed the stains with a wet cloth (there was a fair amount of shampoo left in the carpet - I don't do enough detailing to know if that's normal) and got a lot more out than than they did. I did feel strange cleaning my car after I'd just had it detailed. Exterior: The hood was washed and waxed well. The black plastic on the mirrors was conditioned along with the door handles and looked a lot better. They missed going over the black plastic on the bumper with the same conditioner and it does not look very good. The tires and wheels were cleaned satisfactorily. The front end still had bug spots/debris. There were also a few tar spots on the exterior that were missed. Glass: A few smudges on the interior windshield that were present before I brought it in were still present when I left. Also some water on the roof ran down onto the windshield as I pulled out leaving more streaks. Would've thought they would've dried all that off. Final note: They also accidentally put two of my four mats in someone else's car (this person had apparently already picked up their car and not noticed) and I had to go back the next day and pick them up after they retrieved them. This was annoying. I get that mistakes happen, and if that was the only thing that went wrong I wouldn't have minded too much. read more

This mechanic charges for Est. Time labor. Whic means that is the repair takes an hour, and the computer says that it will take two hours then he charges for two hours of labor. I would not be posting this if it were not the truth. I witnessed first hand that the owner goes by est. times instead of actual. Do you want to pay an extra $100-$150 on your repair?????? I'm pretty happy with the service and quality work from here when it comes to detailing my car. I have used them twice now in the past month & had great results. They even give you a ride back to work and drop your car off to you when they're done. I was super hesitant about a stranger driving my brand new car, but I chanced it and it turned out just fine. After trying a well known car wash on the island and failed miserably... I'll continue to use Dr. Detail in the future and not look back at the other place. Prices are pretty standard I think. $35 for the express package. That included hand wash, inside windows, vacuum interior, clean and shine tires. The next one up is $55 and that includes wax and armor the inside. I have a new car so I don't need those extras. But you can't beat them giving you rides and not charging for it. This review is regarding the Galveston Car Wash (self service) located in front of the Dr. Detail. I came to vacuum my car out and most of the vacuums do not have great suction. I drove my car from one vacuum to the next and they all pretty much were just a waste. I will not be using this place for vacuuming my car again. It's pretty outdated also. read more

Detail Service: I took my truck there to get the best cleaning there is. It was $145 bucks which is a lot, they did a really good job. One issue I have besides the $145 bucks is that they will EITHER shampoo the carpet OR do a leather treatment on the seats. $145 bucks should get you both. They said it's another $50 bucks to get the other done. I don't mind paying for quality work but $200 bucks, no way! I have two other vehicles that I would like to take there but it won't be anytime soon. I also usually tip when I have my vehicles cleaned but I just can't do it when I'm paying $145 bucks from the jump. Baybright on 518 in League City will do EVERYTHING for $100. Granted, the Dr. does a better quality job but $50 bucks is $50. read more

Quality, Honesty and Fair prices. What a combination! After bringing my vehicle to Firestone first for a air conditioner charge at $149, having it go out a second and then waiting for a recharge (done with no charge, my only compliment to Firestone) and having it go out a second time, returning and being told they believe there must be a leak inside dashboard, I went to Dr Detail. (Firestone first told me the estimate for repair would be $2,100 (that's over $2 thousand) and when I asked for a copy of the estimate they handed it to me after pulling out the car and said there had been an error and the estimate was $1,600). Dr Detail showed me evidence of a leak (under infrared) in the exterior valve. They suggested replacing the valve at a cost of $80 if this was not the source. If not the source, they would then give me an estimate to take apart the dash and search for the leak. It has been a week, the air conditioner seems fine. My ultimate bill with the charge of the system was $120. Draw your own conclusions. I was shown the valve and the issue explained to me in a non condescending and clear manner. Even if the air conditioner ultimately turns out to fail, I feel confident I was treated fairly and will return without hesitation for the more costly repair. I do not believe you can expect more than the service provided here AND they will pick you up. read more

I knew my car was a mess, so I went by in order to have a quote. I wanted shampoo the seats, carpet, all the interior plus exterior, and ask him (I assume was a manager) to look at it in order to be very clear. He said that everything would be $150. Couldn't do it that day so we coordinate for a pickup. The employees that pickup my car were courteous and professional. My surprise, $195 invoice. I called and the man that answered was very unprofessional, got angry, he said that he couldn't recall the conversation that we had, also told me to pay whatever I wanted that he would charge his employees the remain. After that point I realized their was no real communication. I paid the full amount $195. No tip, of course, and one unsatisfactory experience. Paid 125.00 for delux detail. Spots left all over carpet, not shampooed as promised. Mats were barely moved. Leather seats not cleaned as promised. Said crayon on plastic part of seat fused and not removable. I popped the stuff off with a putty knife no problem. I've been had. Spoke with manager, willing to redo detail. Took full responsibility. Will update as service is completed. Had to take van in for a day to get a chip they put in the door fixed. Had to bring it back a third day for the re-detail. Still a misunderstanding about what was promised but they went ahead and did the job. Overall the final product was okay. There was overspray of some sort on the chrome on the dash that wasn't there before and they couldn't get out. read more

This is my first ever yelp review, if that is any indication of how impressed I was with this service. Not only do they pick up and drop off your car, free of charge, but the way the inside of my car looks is fantastic. I have a great dane. My great dane likes the beach. Not only was there hair and sand everywhere, but since he is so tall, there was hair stuck in the roof of my car, that I have tried hundreds of times to clean, failing every time. It was like the hair was woven in the fibers of the ceiling. There is not one hair up there now. I have no idea how they did that, but they are phenomenal. read more

I called to get a quote on a oil change, they quoted me about $20 higher than what I pay at Kwik Kar. I needed some other work done and a car detail so asked them why they are so high $75 for an oil change compared to other places and asked if they would match it. He basically told me to go to Kwik Kar so I did, and they lost my business I was about to give them. I called at 10:30 a.m. for them to pickup my truck, 2 1/2 hours later still had not heard from them, called them back , apologized for mistake, said they were on their way (I live 5 minutes from shop), 30 minutes later, still had not seen or heard from them, called, again they apologized.
