Took my girlfriends car in to get one of the serpentine belt pulleys fixed to stop the belt from being shredded. They said it will take a few hours to look over to make sure that's the problem took them 6 hours to agree that was the problem and told us a price. We said ok do it and we go to pick up the car and all they did was change the belt. Instead of fixing the pulley like we asked. charged us 220 for just the belt when it's a $30 part and we could have put a new belt on our selfs. wort place ever do not go here. read more

They're nice but they're also clueless. They did an alignment and told me they couldn't finish it because "the frame is bent". So I took it to my mechanic and it turns out the cam tab gussets were broken from someone that did an alignment previously. It could have been them but it's impossible to know for sure. I had to spend $800 to buy new cam tabs and have them welded in and have the truck aligned by people who know what they're doing. Atleast they didn't charge me for anything but I don't want to bring my truck back either. They didn't show me what they were talking about and just mentioned the frame was bent but that they didn't really know what the issue was because the mechanic that worked on it was busy. I didn't want to go back because they scratched my truck the time before but now I refuse to go back even if it's an emergency. read more

Well, you know how first impressions are important? Trent made a good one over the phone BUT, when I arrived 25 minutes later...1:15pm he told me to ask for him when I got there...and I did. After 20 minutes (and for principle's sake) I went back to Trent and did a "by the way...someone else helped me." Pfft. I popped 2 of my tires and was asking what the wait would be and the Asshole on the phone assumed that I was "demanding" to be put first in line which was not the case. I know how things work, I wasn't asking to be put ahead of everyone else, simply just asking if the service would take long, and if he could provide me with an estimate because I needed to get back to Houston today. They patched the tire however by the time we got it to the rental house it was completely deflated. These were about the most unhelpful people I have every met in my life. I had just gotten off a 12 hour night shift at the hospital and I came out to my car having low pressure on one tire. I called on my way there and the employee said to go ahead and come in and he would check my tire pressure. When I got there no one was outside so when I went inside to get some help he then proceeded to tell me their compressor won't be on for 30 minutes. So when I asked if there was anywhere else on the island, he recommended the Valero across the street. Just overall completely unhelpful. read more

She was told it would take a few "minutes". Fast forward TWO HOURS later.....no decision on the battery, she was told they really didn't know one way or the other if it was bad, but they could run another test and replace the battery anyway for $240. The lowest before tax price I was quoted was $79 and the highest was $99. When Firestone quoted me $57 after taxes, I made them confirm it, then I made an appointment. Total 1200 bucks. I said ok let me scrape the cash together and I will be back. I just wanted to share my experience the Firestone in Galveston, TX. I have a travel trailer and needed a tire replaced on Sunday june 11, 2017. I noticed a bubble on the sidewall of a tire and had my wife and three small children in my truck and could not proceed home safely on that tire. I called and spoke to Daniel, he was friendly but didn't recognize my tire size. They were the old style Bias ply tires on a vintage airstream, but I was able to tell him a metric size that would work to get us home. He said he had them in stock and we proceeded over to the shop. We arrived and he checked me in and I asked where I should leave the trailer as it was 31' long and the parking lot was not very big. As he walks out and sees the trailer he asks a technician if they can jack up a trailer like that and the technician says no its too heavy. He then points to the jack and says " its only a 3.5 ton." I respond that we are in luck because I just had the trailer weighed and it was 7100lbs total, with 900lbs tongue weight so that leaves just 6200 lbs supported by the four tires. Not to mention the fact that discount tire replaced the tires on the opposite side last year with standard jacks. So Daniel says ":no we cant do it its too heavy", completely contradictory to my math, experience and our earlier phone conversation. He then proceeds to just walk inside leaving me and my family to maneuver the parking lot and get back on the road. We proceeded to NTB about 1 mile down the road. They replaced the tire, using a 3.5 ton floor jack. This morning at home in San Marcos, Tx, I'm having all four tires replaced with goodyear radial tires and the one I bought from NTB will be my spare. This is all business that could have been Firestone, but Daniel and his tech at Galveston lost the 800.00. Even better, wasting my time and telling me "no" after I drove over and then not even assisting me in backing a 31' trailer out of their parking lot ensures that they have lost my future business. And there is a Firestone 3 miles from my house that I have used in the past. Poor customer service. read more

I explained to him that I ALWAYS get tires at Discount Tire as they will give me a lower price as I buy the road hazard guarantee. He relunctally put air in my tire. Made it safely to Brenham. I had been bringing my car to this Firestone location for several years, but it has really declined in service over the past 6 months. Appointments are irrelevant, wait times are absolutely out of control, and staff is generally just rude and unhelpful. I brought my car in as scheduled for a Saturday appointment, and as of Sunday afternoon it had not even been looked at. They told me they wouldn't get to it until maybe Monday. I took it elsewhere and had it fixed within 15 minutes (for free, because it was THAT simple and quick of a job). They also now attempt to sell you things that you don't need at all. I was told I needed 4 new tires (conveniently while they were having a major tire sale) only to see my courtesy check form indicate that my tires were in great condition. I used to come to Firestone primarily for their honesty, so now that that's gone I'll be using another business for all my auto needs. read more

So we went on a mini vacation to Galveston. My son hit a median right as we arrived in town and we thought it was simply a busted tire. Come to find out it was the entire wheel!! Luckily Chris was able to find us a replacement in just a few days and we were able to get home safely. May not sound like much, but even with three people searching this wheel was very hard to find. Made an appointment for an oil change and was told the wait time would be an hour to get me in. Came back 3 hrs later & my truck had not even been touched yet. Asked how long it would take and the worker got defensive & said he never told me it would be an hour. In the meantime another customer being helping put a down payment in on her service and was trying to receive a rebate. The Firestone guy was on the phone for a very extended amount of time & just could not figure out how to give her a rebate. I arrived in Galveston to a grinding noise from my driver side wheel area. I called Firestone on 61st if I could get my Land Rover towed in to look at the problem they agreed it should be towed in and they would look at it the next day I told them I needed to leave the island in three days so could they ensure they look at it. Chris informed me he would get on it and call me prior to lunch for an update. He called as he promised and informed me that the bearing had gone and the other is also going and needs replacing. I authorized the work and asked how long it would take and he informed me that day it would be all done. This was great news for me. I had a mechanical breakdown with a 4 day old newborn in my 2018 Chevy Silverado. These guys took me ASAP when no one else was open. I needed to make an insurance claim and they don't normally deal with insurance. They made an exception so I didn't have to have it towed anywhere else. I had to wait till Monday for the Mechanical Breakdown department to open. Went for an oil change/new oil filter at the Firestone in Galveston, TX on 61st on 2/2/22, appt. at 5PM. My 2021 Ford Ranger has 5,726 miles on it, and this was my first oil change for this truck. I told the employee that I just wanted the basic oil change, about $28.00 with my coupon that I had. The employee told me that I had to use synthetic oil in my truck because it was new and that all vehicles from 2014 to new vehicles are required to use synthetic oil only. I told the employee that I had never heard of anything like this when getting your vehicle oil changed. I did ask the cost and he said it would be $103.00 total. I told the employee that I had never paid over $100.00 for any past oil change. The $103.00 was with a $15 off coupon that I had for Firestone. This store charged me twice for labor, premium oil change labor and another charge for labor at the bottom of my invoice. They also had problems getting the oil filter off my truck, the employee told me that they had to remove my front tire to get to the oil filter. My appt. was at 5:00PM, they didn't finish my oil change until 6:30PM. This was my first and last visit to this Firestone. I'm sure there are other places in Galveston that do good and fair oil changes, unfortunately this is not one of them. Stay away! Ron W. read more

DO NOT USE. These scumbags tried to charge my wife $1600 to change the brake pads along with trying to add several other unnecessary repairs. I would leave zero stars if I could. Update: I got off work and did the brake job myself. The how to videos on the Internet r great. Here is pics of the calipers and rotors that they tried to get my wife to buy new ones. A little rusty but don't "have to be replaced before the car leaves"cost me $103 and my breaks r good now. These dicks not only tried to screw my wife but they over torqued my lug nuts so bad I bent my tire iron trying to get them off. Thanks Firestone. First time customer and I will definitely be back. I went to Classic Honda for a problem with my headlights and a scraping noise coming from my rear axle. Classic Honda first charged me 135$ just to look at my car, secondly they were going to charge me 1650$ for all my breaks as well as calipers to be replaced. They refused to show me the damage and told me that I should not be driving my car at all. I reluctantly let them fix my headlight (just needed a bulb replaced) for 179$. This all took over 4 hours. I took my car to Firestone for a second opinion and they were wonderful from the start. Taking a look at my car was free, quick (less than 30 minutes), and helpful ( they showed me the damage and explained exactly what needed to be done). Some of the parts needed might have had to be shipped from Houston, but the manager did everything in his power to get the repairs done that day and before they closed. I was expecting that I would not have a car for at least several days and that the cost would be somewhat comparable to what Classic Honda quoted me for the cost of the repairs. However, I was pleasantly surprised to not only get my repairs done the same day ( the store stayed open late to get the job done), but also to save more than 1000$ on costly, unnecessary repairs. Bottom line, Firestone offered quick, honest, reliable service at a fair price. They gained a committed costumer today. On the other hand, I will never go to Classic Honda again. I don't know how they got the name "Classic"...Classic Crooks is more like it. read more
