The maintenance was not performed to correct the problem, he overcharged significantly (I had other estimates done before selecting his business), he refused to correct the problem without additional fees. The most honest mechanic I've spoken to in a long time! The first place I called quoted me $300-600 to fix my brakes without even asking any questions. Then I called Patrick's and he was straightforward/ transparent and asked if I just wanted the pads replaced/ the rotors etc and was able to give me a quote over the phone. They checked all the brakes/ rotors and turns out they were fine there was just a little rust I needed to drive off. Take my money! read more

It kind of hurts me to write this review but after the last timeded,r. I felt this was necessary. Patrick had repaired my car previously multiple times for random small problems at low prices and in a speedy manner. However, the last job he did infuriated me and I will not be coming back here and will not errecommend his place, as I have in the past. My car needed a window regulator replaced in addition to a rattling noise fixed. Not only did he scratch off part of my tint job on my window, but he also left multiple greasy fingerprints all over the place (and I was charged about $500). I could tell when I picked up my car that he got fed up with working on it and just half-a**ed it to be done in the end. In addition, he told me the rattling is fixed but that I would need my muffler replaced as part of that..... so why didn't you just call me and ask if I wanted to do that too instead of having me have to take care of it on a separate time? I'm sorry but I won't be coming back. I have the pictures of the destroyed tint job as well. Find someplace else on the island. Oh yeah, the "UTMB discount" advertisement is kind of false too. The first time I went there, I got like $10 off a $300 job (only after asking) and the second time, after he quotes me, I ask him for the UTMB discount and he goes "yeah yeah it's already included." My son had gone to Galveston Texas to help clean the beach. Afterwards he walked back to his truck to find that it wouldn't crank. My wife and I drove to Galveston Texas to see if we could help. We tried everything to get it to start with no luck. We were 75 miles from home with no way to get the truck home. A wrecker would have cost him $455.00 so that was out of the question. We called around hoping to find a mechanic shop open on Saturday afternoon with no luck. It was 1:00 pm and we had run out of options. My wife's phone rang and it was Patrick. My wife had called his business but there was no answer. He was just calling back the number that showed up on his caller id. Patrick advised us that his shop closes at 12 noon on Saturday but he would come out to look at my son's vehicle. Sure enough, Patrick shows up 5 minutes later and diagnosed the problem on the spot. "Your starter is bad". "Let's get it over to my shop and I will have you back on the road in 1 hour". So we buy a starter from a local auto parts house and pull my son's truck over to his shop where he quickly replaced the starter. Patrick is an honest man and a damn good mechanic. He quoted at fair price and stuck to it. He knew we were stranded in Galveston Texas and would have to pay whatever price he wanted. We were so happy with the service that we paid him for the repair and even tipped him $45.00. If you're in the Galveston area and need a honest mechanic, this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed! Patrick, thank you for being there for my family when we needed help. You truly are a kind and honest man. I was VERY DISSATISFIED with this place! I brought my truck in to have the fuel filter replaced, which I had purchased from an auto parts store, whicj I had sitting in the front seat of the truck. Patrick said it would be $185 to put it on. I said okay, that sounds good, go ahead. A week or so later he contacted me and said that it may be the fuel pump instead of the fuel filter, although I still wanted the filter replaced as it was in need of a new one regardless, it being so old. Patrick said replacing the fuel PUMP would involve dropping the gas tank. I asked what that would cost. He said he'd have to figure that out. I said okay, when you have, let me know. He said he would. A week or so later, he contacted me and said he would need his assistant to help him drop the tank, but that his assistant was currently in jail! I then asked if that meant that he could not fix the truck. He said he'd have to check some things to seeand would let me know. The next communication I got from him was this text: "I'm going to haft have the van moved the work and with storage is only 250.00 with tax get in contact with me asap thanks!" I called him as soon as I read that rext, which was that same day. When I asked if the truck was fixed, he mumbled somthing about not having "it" in front of him. After him being silent on the phone for several seconds, I said, 'Okay, well, call me back when you have it all together." He said, "Okay" and we hung up. A week of so later, maybe longer, I received this text from him: "When will you pick up your truck I've passed up a cuople of big jobs and you'll haft to pay the storage." I texted him I'd come by and talk to him about it. What would be a good time, he said about 12. When I came by about the truck, he said it still didn't run, and that he had not replaced the fuel filter, which was still in the package in the front seat, nor had he replaced the fuel pump, which was still in the gas tank. He told me he had installed a "sending unit" and that he fixed a couple of "shorts" and that the bill is $350. Still, the truck didn't run. I didn't know what a sending unit was, but figured that it, and the installation of it, justified the bill. I had the $185 for replacing the fuel filter, but after so long of waiting for him to get back to me on dropping the gas tank and replacing the fuel pump, alas, I spent it. However, with him not replacing the fuel filter, which is what I asked him to do, and with him not replacing the fuel pump, which he never got back to me on, I wasn't prepaird for a $350 cost for a "sending unit" and told him I would have to have a week or so to get the cash. (I could have burrowed the money from a couple of people who offered, but I hate burrowing) If he needed me to get the truck out of his shop immediately, I would, but I would have to pay the bill out at $100 dollars a month. I offered to do some work for the bill, but he declined that, and I understand that. He said okay to paying him out, and I told him I'd have the tuck gone by tomorrow and left. Then, as I pulled into Walmart, I received this text from him: "Was thinking about our conversation earlier , the bill will be paid tommorrow as well correct?" I said no, I didn't have that kind of money in one lump sum, and as was stated when I was there, I would need to pay it out. Understandably, he didn't want to do that. My problem was, he said he would charge me more storage charges. Back and forth we went, me even telling him that I will be willing to take our dispute to HIS church (him professing to be a Christian) and I will stand by their decision about which one of us is right. He said "No". So finally, a friend said he'd loan me the $350 to get the truck. I then asked Patrick to give me a detailed list of the parts he installed, part numbers of new parts, the old part taken off, and the dates of the storage fees. He texted me back this: "All I did was diagnostics and found the electrical short there was no parts the rest was storage" When I asked later about the "sending unit" he said he didn't remember telling me he installed a sending unit. I brought my truck in to have the fuel filter replaced, and if need be, the the fuel pump replaced, neither of which were done. The only thing that WAS done? "diagnostics and found the electrical short" neitheof which he mentioned beforehand, and neither of which I asked to be done. Bottom line, I asked him to fix one or both of two things and he didn't do either. He did two OTHER things that I DIDN'T ask to be done, both of which DIDN'T FIX MY TRUCK, all of that cost me $350! I'm still looking to get my truck fixed, as it is in the same condition as when I took it in to Patrick's shop - except a repaird "short" - which got Patrick $350's of my money. Car broke down on the side of the road during a day trip in Galveston (we are from Spring). Called Patrick and he said he could get us fixed if we could get the car to him. Had a nice patron give us a quick tow from the sea wall and Patrick got straight to work. He found the problem and had us fixed up in about an hour. Super nice and knowledgeable guy. I took my car for catalytic converter issues to Patrick. He proved to be vey expensive. Go to him, if you want to pay three times more than the normal price. I got my car fixed at a different place with warranty and much lower price. Do not fall in to his discounts trap. read more

I'll make this short and simple. There's no sweet to it. This guy will lie to your face...plain and simple. I was referred to him by a co-worker and took it to him for a whining noise that had been going on for a while. He stated that the transmission needed flushing and that would stop the whining noise. He quoted me $125 (which I felt was a little pricey, but if it solved the problem, I was on board). Before I could get it to him a week later, it stopped and I had it towed to him. (The check engine light was on would't accelerate and it made a grinding noise. The following day, he contacted me to state that it had "water in the gas" and that he "treated it." Also said that he "flushed the transmission". Total cost...$285. He texted me to ask how I was going to pay and I stated that I would pay with cash and a card because it was a Friday and I didn't want to stand in line at the bank. He texted back to say that he preferred cash. (That should have been my first red flag). It ran okay for 72 hours. The check engine light came back on and the same hesitation started. Had it towed back to him again, and he was stating that "the check engine light shouldn't be on." I'm saying..."Well...I feel that way too; especially since I just paid you close to $300 in cash and I got put on the road again!" He kept talking in circles and saying, "well...it could be this...or it could be that..." nothing definitive. He started telling me about how his machines got wet in the Hurricane. etc...etc..I had it taken to the dealer who quickly diagnosed it as NEITHER of the things that Mr. Patrick alleges that he fixed! I had contacted the Texas Dept of Agriculture because he stated that there was water in the gas. Received a call from them to state that after collecting gas samples from the station and running an analysis on them, that there was no water found. The dealer had already stated the same thing after completing their diagnosis. I knew I would not get a response from him, but did text him to ask exactly what did he actually fix. No response. Guess Christmas came a little early for him because looks like he was out to make some quick Christmas cash. My advice...don't do it! read more
