This dentist has an assistant who couldn't write up a dental plan correctly... Not once, but twice. My son went to see them and got a plan to pull some teeth he has had issues with. The plan missed 2 teeth he had discussed with them. He called, got it updated, and had an appt to do this plan. He gets in the chair, and the dentist got upset with said assistant due to justen wanting to go from a flipper to a full top plate, which meant more teeth with no issues pulled. The dentist numbed a few spots and then got so upset that he was moving this syringe around very close to my son's face. The assist stated she was used to the yelling that came with the needle moving. My son left. My son, being very upset, told me about this, and Mama Bear came out. I went to the office and spoke with Olivia (office person). I was quite angry, I will admit, but my son at least deserved an apology. My son and i talked about it, and he said if the dentist apologized, then he would go back and get it done (the price would be affordable, and he had already paid for x-rays. We go back in there today and my his and my son is explaining to the dentist that he didn't appreciate the waving of the needle in his face. Is the dentist, with a varit's a very sarcastic attitude said "Did you get poked by the needle?" I stepped forward and stated,"That is NOT how you act when someone is in your office. The dentist then stated, "I am done with you; you can get your records and find another dentist." I said,"fine... I am going to write a review everywhere I can and tell everyone I can about you and the way you treat patients, " the dentist then said,"Shut up." I made sure the patients in the waiting room knew what they could expect from the dentist and advised they be very careful, asperger syndrome included since the office person is so quick to use it as an excuse.

I've been going to Dr. Citrin for going on 6 years and I love him and his staff…read more The first time I called to make an appointment, I'd been living in Tucson for a few years and hadn't seen a dentist and was terrified to go in for a cleaning. I called and the receptionist was SO sweet and got me right in (even though there can be a wait to see him- his practice is very popular!). First off, his office is amazing- beautifully landscaped, water falls, greenery, etc. On the inside? It's apparent that Dr. Citrin loves basketball, especially U of A, but he's a fan of other teams as well. I can't comment much on the waiting room because I've never really waited in there- they're that prompt! Each exam room has a big picture window that you get to look out (when you're not tilted back being worked on). I've seen TONS of wildlife outside of those windows and it's very relaxing (for the nervous types like me!). Their equipment is also state of the art, including digital x-rays! They show up instantly on the computer screen in the room and there's no development wait time. Fancy! Their hygienist is great, very friendly, and gentle. Dr. Citrin (sometimes people call him Dr. Jay) is SO NICE. He's funny, personable, and always has time to chat about bball or golf, or his kids. He takes the time to get to know you as a person, not just a chart and a patient number. Okay folks, time to come clean. I've had a cavity or two and have had them filled by Dr. Jay. Part II- I'm SUCH a wuss when it comes to dental work. When he had to numb me up, I cried and he gave me tissues (I've seriously had other dentists tell me to "suck it up"). He's very sensitive and pays attention to the patients' comfort level in addition to doing a great job with the dental work. At the end of each exam, you are given a toothbrush (and it's a nice one too, not just a one-use travel type) that says "Dr. Jay Loves Me!", a travel tube of toothpaste and some floss. Seriously, people. I get WAY excited about that toothbrush. I highly recommend him- I can't say enough good things about the practice he has established in the Old Pueblo.

I appreciate the work ethic at this office. "If it ain't broke don't fix it". Dentist in the past have recommended unnecessary procedures for me because my insurance is very good and they could make more money. You will not find that in this office. I have my teeth cleaned three times a year and have not had to have any dental work done in 12 years. The hygienist are excellent! The front desk staff is wonderful. They file all insurance paperwork I have never had to do anything regarding insurance billing. Very happy!

After speaking with my California dental group, I received a recommendation for Dr. Martha Duchon and decided to try her. I visited her last week for an initial session and received a hygiene treatment from her excellent hygienist, Dianne. Dr. Duchon is a member of the ADA, which I'm told by other dentists is an important factor. She has practiced in Tucson for a number of years, and maintains a small, dedicated staff. After two visits, I must say that I have never been more pleased with dental care in my life! She was very thorough in her initial evaluation of my dental health, took full mouth X-rays and a careful history. She noted some issues that I was only vaguely aware of, and made some recommendations. Her hygienist spent ample time with me and did a wonderful job. She told me that she had an ointment I could use on my sore gum, but forgot to give it to me before I left. I realized this when I got home, but their office was already closed. Imagine my surprise when I received a personnel note of apology from her in the mail the next day, with two sample packets of ointment enclosed. Wow. Just this week I returned to Dr. Duchon for a broken tooth and will get a crown soon. She is wonderful with Novocaine (which is important to me) and was very gentle in preparing my tooth. My husband just saw her today for the first time and is equally impressed. I couldn't recommend her more highly!

I loved how warm and welcoming everything was, from the staff to the office environment. Dr. Harrell is kind, patient, warmly attentive, professional. The office is very clean, organized and extremely efficient. We were very happy with the care and kindness and we did not feel like a number. She did not have any problems or infection and we did not need a followup after her surgery. They called in her pain medication the night before and had a wonderful headband icepack for her to use with explicit instructions on what to expect before, during and after the surgery. I even dropped off a box of See's Candy to show my appreciation! I highly recommend this office!

Ran into an issue with this practice where we had a member get tasked with a short notice…read moredeployment and he had less than 24 hours notice before he left. His three daughters were scheduled for dentist appointments which were cancelled by the Mom the day prior (as soon as she found out about the deployment) so that the family could see him off that day. The dentist office charged $300 in cancellation fees to the family. The dentist office was called and explained the situation and why it occurred and they stated their 48 hour cancellation policy stands and the fees will not be waived. Wanted to let this be known since there is a large military community here, this experience can easily happen to any of us at this practice.

I stopped going to this dentist office because they have been trying to collect money for this…read more"misunderstanding" about a rework on a build up that was done in the previous year and wasn't covered by my insurance, when I discussed it with 2 of the office personnel and they assured me it would only be $51.50. I tried to get in for that same tooth less than 3 months due to the build up wasn't completely taken care of and some decay was left that caused an abcess that they needed $100 up front to set an appointment for in addition to the extra that my insurance couldn't cover. They said it is only really a follow up at no cost within 30 days.The health and pain of a patient should be more important to them than money. People aren't made of money. I couldn't afford to take care of it, so I was swollen and in pain for months after. Also, EVERYTIME I was in the chair getting a filling done, they said"it's deeper than we thought, it'll cost more". Doesn't anyone in this office have compassion for anyone enough to say, "we made a mistake, we'll cover the remainder of the cost we didn't prepare you for?" Another big reason I don't recommend Dr Dehnert is there was a few fillings on the top back of my mouth and I was placed almost upside down. It was taking quite some time and not only was this an uncomfortable position but the tools rattled my skull and made me dizzy. The worst part was this appointment was his last one of the day and you could tell he was getting upset and anxious with the motions and tools he was working with like I was taking up too much of his time and he was tired. I will NEVER schedule a long appointment in the afternoon ever again when a dentist has seen patients all day!! Too risky. There is nothing special about this office at all. All of the people there seem to be nice but you can tell a few are just pretending to be nice. There is NOTHING special about this office or this dentist. I even saw a female dentist in this office when he wasn't available that did a better job with a small filling then he did.
