We have had a few visits here now for my daughters dental work. They have been nothing but kind and caring during the visits. My daughter is 8 and each appointment they walk her through all the steps and talk directly to her instead of ignoring her and talking to me like past places have done. They don't rush and take time to give my daughter breaks and talk through some of the issues shes had. We have loved coming here and look forward to our future appointments. Definitely recommend especially with younger kids because they have an awesome points/rewards system! read more

Buyer BEWARE! Be careful, there are probably better choices in Tucson. My fervent hope is to help keep somebody else from having to deal with similar situations. It is not really the money it's the principle! Recently found out that a friend who I had referred to the office has had a similar issue. I have always had great and fun interactions with all of his other clinical and administrative staff. Their "office girl", Rosi is unprofessional, rude, dismissive, condescending and apparently incompetent. She appears to be trying to hide things. If you refuse to answer or respond to questions about basic billing charges, it makes you look a little suspicious! Nobody likes being ripped off AND blown off. Read the many other reviews confirming other peoples experiences with her bad behavior. Dr. Weaver, the founder, was a good guy, but he is retired now. It's sad and disappointing that the seemingly all too common scenario of a business founder, leaving and having things significantly deteriorate is at play here. Once the founder leaves things rapidly go downhill. On my last very brief visit, I told the doctor that my final set of retainers was giving me, for the first time, some pain in my jaw (TMJ) which I have never experienced with any of the other aligners. He looked in my mouth for literally five seconds, and said, oh there's a problem. Clearly, somewhere between measurement and manufacture, (out of my hands) the retainers were incorrectly produced. They were ill fitting enough to where the doctor ordered 50% of the lowers to be cut off to temporarily alleviate the TMJ issue. Nobody said a word about my status going forward. After several years and thousands of dollars out of pocket, on top of what my insurance company paid, I was presented with a $450 bill at checkout. I have tried for months, verbally and in writing, to find out what the charges were for, and to just try and simply get a billing receipt for my records. All requests have been completely ignored by Rosi. I always hate to assume, but I guess it was for re-ordering final retainers to replace the clearly incorrect and substandard ones that I had already previously paid for. I guess I was being charged a second time for a product that was substandard through no fault of my own. I was also disappointed that there was absolutely no attempt to even try to bill my top-tier dental insurance for any of this visit, and I clearly couldn't do anything on my own without a proper bill. Judging by other similar experiences and reviews, I'm sure the response will be "contact Rosie, so that we can clear this manner up." I have made a total of six attempts! Too late, I've wasted too much time! read more

I took my son here because it was recommended from his dentist. The place was very clean and pleasant to walk in to with friendly faces to welcome us. We went to the back and saw the Doctor and he was wonderful in all ways. He was honest and very thorough. He explained everything well along with his other co-workers. I had previously received braces in the 5th grade. The arrival of wisdom teeth and unclosed growth plates in my jaw caused my teeth to crowd as well as the return of the natural underbite I once had. After a few years of being on the fence about getting braces I decided to finally take the plunge and get them on again at the prime age of 21. What a great decision that was. Just starting a career in real estate, I wanted a smile I was confident in. The same could be said really for any profession and just life in general. Let me tell you the office of Dr. JAW gave me just that. I mostly saw Dr. Weaver for my appointments. The guy has a great sense of humor and made the appointments rather enjoyable. The two other doctors were equally as good as well as with all of their techs. I couldn't recommend this place more. If you're no longer in the typical age range for braces and are indecisive about taking the plunge I highly recommend you just do it. I took Yvett's 5 star suggestion and took Kid A to Dr Weaver. Dr Weaver told my kid that Invisalign and traditional metal braces would both take 1.5 years to be complete ("they would both be done at the same time" were his exact words). With that, Kid A chose to have traditional metal braces put on. That same day we received a phone call from a separate orthodontist (who had seen my kid earlier) with the Invisalign specifics, and Invisialign would have only taken 6 months! Dr Weaver lied to my child!! His office is big and open. No privacy for each individual chair. The results are fine, Kid A's teeth are now straight, but that's common with any orthodontist. I will NOT be sending the rest of my kid's here. read more

I wanted to get braces for a 2nd time back in 2006. So i visited Dr. Jaws, The DR himself is fine, he wanted to pull some teeth, and I wasn't for that. So I got a 2nd opinion, and have since had braces put on and taken off by another orthodontist, and no teeth needed to be pulled. The issue I have is that his staff called me at least once a month almost hounding me to commit to them, and schedule and appointment. each time they called I told them No and I wasn't interested, but that didn't stop them. read more

Everyone here is friendly and kind. My son was in tears and they were patient and understanding. My son calmed down and left with a smile on his face. They have a points rewards program that motivates children to take care of their teeth. Overall I think orthodontics has come a long way since the 80's. read more

The entire staff at Dr James Weaver's Oro Valley office is absolutely amazing! Everybody is always so pleasant and friendly--something that makes visiting the orthodontist much easier. I've been looking for someone to help me with my smile for a couple of years, but I've never felt comfortable with anybody. Since the moment I met Dr. Weaver and his team, I felt completely comfortable. More importantly, I felt like the team really cared about making sure they could help me. I now see Dr. Robison-Rabe regularly and she is simply wonderful. She's always very nice and does a great job of explaining what she's working on. I am new to up in reviewing but now that I have a chance I'm going to hit all the terrible doctors and dentists that have done me wrong here in Tucson. First is years ago dr. Weaver, dentist. He also lied to me and gave me a phony treatment plan that did not even work. I finally went to an another dentist who confirmed with me that dr. Weaver was lying about his plan that would straighten my teeth. This other dentist actually tip the braces off and fixed my problem in one visit. Stay away from dr. i was flossing my teeth on thursday evening and happened to break the bonding on my bottom lingual retainer. this is the second time this has happened to me while flossing since i got my braces off 4 years ago. since i'm not from tucson, and my orthodontist is 3,000 miles away, i was in a bit of a panic. i had to sleep with my retainer poking around in my mouth until morning. i called around to a few places that wanted $350+ to fix my retainer. insane!! i finally called dr. jaw orthodontists and was quoted $95 to fix my bonding. i wasn't sure whether or not it was a guesstimate on what the final price would be, so i asked. the lady told me over the phone that $95 was the most she'd charge me for the service. they fit me in right away and when i walked in i was seen right away, no waiting. at all!!!! the receptionist was very friendly & nice. so was the woman (she wasn't a doctor, but maybe a hygienist?) who actually preformed the bonding of my lingual retainer. the office was very nice, and clean. the music was tasteful and they had alice and wonderland in HD playing on the TV near my chair. it was nice to have something to focus on instead of the grinding and bonding going on in my mouth. since there were at least 10 hours between me breaking my retainer and going in to see someone to fix it, they weren't able to set my teeth back exactly the way they were, but it's pretty close. nothing that anyone else would be able to tell, anyway. thank you, thank you, thank you, dr. jaw & staff!! if i ever have another orthodontic emergency, i'll be visiting you! read more

I just started going to Dr. Weaver and I cannot even begin to express how impressed I am with him and his staff. I went to Weaver aka Dr. Jaw as a second opinion for Invisalign. I had braces as a child but as many of us do neglected to wear my head gear and retainers and my teeth have drifted. So, now in my 40's I decided to correct my slightly crooked teeth and my overbite once and for all. I started with Dr. Rosen for an initial consult, he seemed knowledgeable and friendly took time to talk with me and examined my teeth. I was given a choice of just fixing the crooked teeth which would take about 10 aligners (20 weeks and approx $3800.00) or to fix both the crooked teeth and the bite (approx 2 years and $4700.00). Either way once I committed it would take about 6-8 weeks after the initial appointment to get the aligners. While considering both options and before spending 5K on the aligners I went for a consult with Dr. JAW. Let me say from the moment you walk in the office you know you are getting the best. My initial consult consisted of photos and complete xrays along with the private consult with Dr. Weaver and the accounting person to discuss payment options (the initial consult is FREE by the way...xrays/pics and all...with no obligation or expectation of committment). Dr. Weaver asked me why would I just fix the crooked teeth when the bite affected my jaw and I had TMJ. After putting it that way, I thought...well this is a no brainer! Another big concern for me was a special event I have coming up towards the end of the year and was eager to not only begin but get as far as possible. Dr. Weaver's answer...we do the most invisaligns in the state and we'll just put a rush on the order. True to his word I got my first aligner 4 weeks later. I will add a follow up post at the conclusion of my experience, but so far I have nothing but rave reviews for Dr. Weaver and his entire staff for their super friendly and professional service. The rewards program Yvett R. mentions is so business savvy... and fun for both adults and kids. Basically a rewards program that allots you points at each appt, for being on time, clean teeth, nothing broken etc... then the points can be redeemed for cool prizes including Starbucks cards :) Smart! The reviewer who called Dr. Weaver a liar is a fool. Both Dr. Rosen and Dr. Weaver gave me the same time frames for Invisalign vs. regular braces....teeth can only move so fast. With regards to the Invisalign, I really like them. Like braces they are snug and not the most pleasant at first but not one person (my hubby aside) has noticed them, and I did not lisp at all. The only drawback is I cannot eat with them in so my snacking has been curbed significantly...but considering I am trying to drop 10 pounds this is a blessing.. overall fantastic experience so far! read more

Dr. Jaws is a great place. The staff is very kind and gentle with my teeth. Dr. Jaws has helped me get the teeth I have now (which are as great as they can get). The place may be far (well from I live) but it is worth the ride. I just got my braces off 2 days ago and I never thought my teeth could come be so nice and perfect =) My older brother also got his braces off around January and we have the same exact smile. My brother is also very comfortable with his teeth. Dr. Jaws and his staff are all very nice. I feel that we are all friends and that i have known them for the longest time. But I really dont know much about any of them. There staff is very welcoming and they help make things very easy. Even the waiting is so fun. THey have so many intresting things. And the best thing is that they dont even take that long for you to get called. I would really recommened Dr. Jaws for any teeth problem read more
