I think Dr Green's & Daryl are the best. I attempted to self-clean a large area of carpet upstairs where my pup decided it was okay to pee a lot, using a popular self-help pet stain product that we'll call NM. This is "enzymatic formula" or "urine destroyer" NM (older formula was fine). The smell is so strong and horrible that 3 months later, the odor had dissipated only enough for me to breathe. You could still smell its unpleasant - almost worse than dog urine aroma - all over our 2-story home. I used Yelp to find Dr. Green. We first messaged back & forth over Yelp & then talked on the phone. Daryl is so knowledgeable and thorough that I knew he was the one to "cure" my stanky carpet problem. I also hired him to clean an off-white synthetic area rug in our living room that fortunately could be in-home cleaned. After Dr. G's visit, I can breathe easier, the smell of "NM" is greatly reduced (and on its way out of our lives) & the LR rug looks almost new. Dr. Green Carpet Care is great! We have used this service twice and both times they have done an excellent job. They will move furniture around as much as possible to get every inch of carpet that they can reach. They are quick too - only took about an hour to clean our 900 square foot condo! The results are fabulous - crisp, clean carpets that look brand new! The second visit they got out stains that had been in our carpets for years and on which we had given up hope of ever getting out! The cost to clean our space was $130. I deducted one star (though I would have only deducted half a star if that was an option) due to the fact that they were thirty minutes late to our scheduled appointment. They texted me from the onset of them being late, which I appreciated. I was fortunate to have the day off of work, but I would have been peeved if I had taken time off expecting the work to be started and completed at a certain time. As others have said, you may need to leave a message when calling for an estimate, but Dr. Green will call back, even if you only have a puny 5'x7' area rug or two. I have two such rugs--one of which I almost tossed because it seemed beyond hope--and Dr. Green was the only provider who responded to my inquiries. The $79 minimum fee definitely made it worthwhile to try cleaning rather than simply replacing the rugs, especially since my dogs and I are, a little too often, "the reason we can't have nice things". Because the dogs LOOOOVE playing and lying on the carpets, I wanted to stick with a nontoxic method if possible. I was able to get an appointment right away, and Dr. Green really made both rugs look great. Bye, pet hair! Bye, stuck-on lint tufts! Bye, furtively deposited pet stains! Bye, stains from countless spilled beverages! Bye, dust and grime of ages! I've had both carpets for quite a few years now, so they don't look brand new, but they definitely look their very best, and I'm so glad I gave this a try. Dr. Green was professional, efficient, friendly, and super kind and patient with my dogs, who were not so sure about the cleaning apparatus. I was recommended some other carpet places from people in my neighborhood, but they said my job was "too small." My service technician (Daryl) gave me a text at least an hour in advance to give me a heads up of his arrival time. When he arrived he assessed the rug first before going to get all the necessary equipment. Then he completed a thorough cleaning of the rug in a short span of time (30 minutes). My 6 year old - off white rug- now looks like new! Daryl was very friendly and professional the whole time which certainly helps build a positive impression of the company. I probably overpaid for the cleaning as my rug is a non designer 5X7 and they had a minimum charge of $89 but was probably worth it for how many more years I'll get out of it! read more

Would DEFINITELY hire again! Have to add our voice to the other great reviews here. One thing up front. If you get voice mail when calling for the first time, as I did, I would suggest that you not be put off. This is a smaller company. I suspect part of how they can do such awesome work at reasonable prices is a lack of "extra" overhead like someone answering phones 24/7 when they're out cleaning carpets! I simply left a voice mail saying what I needed a quote for, and Daryl called me back within a day. The price was right, so I scheduled for the next week. Then I learned there was a conflict with another appt so I had to call and reschedule. Again I got voice mail, but I left a msg explaining that I needed to push the appt out a week and Daryl texted me later the same day saying he'd heard the msg and confirming the reschedule was fine. Day of appt, he texted me when he was on his way. We sought cleaners using no harsh chemicals, which is the case with Dr. Green. We have very light carpet that hadn't been professionally cleaned in about 3 years. The landing and stairs were especially grimy. Also had some coffee stains in one bedroom and mystery food stains in another. The stains had been there so long that I didn't even know how they got there, just to give you an idea. Result? Stains were removed and the carpet looks totally rejuvenated and "fluffier" once again. The difference on stairs and landing is especially dramatic. You'd never know, to look at it now, just how "lived in" it looked before. Wish I'd thought to take before/after pics. Bottom line, if you want your carpets cleaned at a very fair price by a guy who knows what he's doing, call Dr. Green! read more

Okay, I admit that I was skeptical that one business could have so many 5 stars, but decided to give him a shot anyway. Was looking for an ECO friendly cleaner for carpets and upholstered furniture. The last time we had an area rug cleaned, our bedroom smelled like an oil refinery for several months afterwards. While the rug was certainly clean, I am not sure what breathing all those fumes for so long did to us. Dr. Green showed up on time. He explained to me that he preferred not to clean our antique Persian and Afghan area rugs that we should take them to an expert (once I thought about it, I whole heartedly agreed also). He made sure he know what kind of yarn or fabric was on each piece (wool, cotton, synthetic, etc.) so he would know which cleaning technique to use. This was something I truly appreciated, having had a cleaner shrink expensive slipcovers once because they did not ask. Daryl, is pleasant, courteous and truly believes in a GREEN approach. Scheduled an appointment with Daryl, and he kept me updated and got to my house on time. He was very professional and friendly. He looked at the rooms that needed to be cleaned and got to work. My carpets look great and new. He even got my daughter's slime stains out of the carpet. He did a great job at a great price (extremely important) - $99 special for 3 rooms and $40 for the other. After searching numerous websites and ads, I came across Dr Green for my carpet cleaning needs here on Yelp. My daughter suffers from allergies and I needed someone in quick. I contacted Dr. Green on a Wednesday and he was able to come out by Friday. My carpet wasn't horrible, but I have a toddler and teenager under my roof, so you can imagine! Not only did he do an amazing job getting out tough stains, but he also cleaned my sectional and area rug. They all look brand new! His prices are reasonable and he uses eco friendly products. So, I saw all of the extatic reviews here, and thought I would try Dr. Green, as I had some friends coming to visit, and my carpets were looking rather depressed (many little food and dirt stains, traffic patterns, etc....small apartment). So, I called him about a week before they were scheduled to come in, and he was able to work me in his schedule within a day or two. He did come out pretty much on time, calling beforehand to verify we were both ready, and was very friendly. He asked me what, if anything, I had used to try to hand-clean carpet spots before. Anyway, before arrival, I moved 99% of my furniture out of the way myself, as it's a small apartment, and I wanted to make sure everything was clean. I was a little disappointed to not even receive a thank you, or even a raised eyebrow for helping out...but whatever. So, I loaded up my pet, and we went for a walk while he worked. Well, I got his call about 25 minutes later, and we came back (it seemed rather fast to me, but, he also had a car full of professional equipment). So, he tells me the two spots by the door weren't coming all the way out, but he did get them to lighten significantly (true). They were pretty bad, as I'm assuming whatever I used to clean them left residue, and this is the highest traffic in and out of my apartment. Whatever...at least things looked decent. I went into work soon after, and came home to mostly dry carpet later that night. Anyway, I moved furniture back,and within a few days, all (not just the two spots by the door) of the spots around the carpet seemed to be showing back up. I still see most every one in my carpet today, and actually, the two by the door are worse now than when I called him (it's now been a couple of months). I'm not sure what kind of pre-treat or spot spray he's using, but it didn't work on my spots, and seems to have left some serious residue behind. And, as I paid $99 for my small apartment, I was expecting better results, I guess. Next time I see a big truck-mount unit out front cleaning out an empty unit, I'll just have to try and bribe that dude to come and finish my carpets. Again :( read more
