Sharian is just so professional and excellent I'll say this: find a rug in your house you need to clean just so you can enjoy their service. it's that good. I had a larger area rug in my primary bedroom that had myriad pet stains and dust, and I needed an expert hand. the Sharian team showed up on time and ready to help move/shift my furniture to be able to haul the rug away. a few months later and BOOM: beautiful like-new rug that'll last another 10 years, minimum. Sharian Decatur cleaned and repaired my 10x12 rug a couple months ago. It's been rolled up until today when we finally moved it into its new home. The rug was inherited and used in guest room and never cleaned in 25 plus years. Also had a heavy box platform bed on it for 20 years that left large rectangular indentation mark and the fringe needed repair in a couple areas. Wow I was super surprised when we rolled it out. It looks like a brand new rug that has never been used. It is now a gorgeous showpiece in my bedroom. I don't know how they managed to perfect this beautiful heirloom rug, but am extremely happy. BEWARE!!! I took my Silk rug to this company because their commercial boast 90 years of experience and then I saw large Billboards, so I was convinced that this would be the company that I would entrust my Heirloom too. I was called and laughing while telling me that they DESTROYED my rug. I thought it was a joke, that when I went to pick it up it would be beautiful. NO!! IT WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED. I was then told to go on eBAY to buy another rug. I told them that I purchased my rug in Germany 28 + years ago. It has almost been 2 years now. To add insult to injury they still have my rug, told me that their Insurance said they were Not going to get involved and the ball is in my court. Now, I have to go out and try to sue them just to try and get my rug back and some form of compensation because they themselves told me, "YOUR RUG IS DESTROYED"! read more

We have a home with hardwood flooring-- except for a 13x9 wool area rug, and that is where our beloved French bulldog relieved herself before we realized she had a urinary tract infection. No store-bought enzymatic cleaner nor steam-cleaner could get the odor out and there was faint staining in a few places too. The rug was expensive so I asked around and heard that there is only one place in Atlanta that could save it: Sharian. Sharian can pick up your rug and deliver it back when it's done, but in effort to save a little money we rolled up the stinky thing and drove it down to Decatur. They took a look and promised to do their best to remove any stains and odors. I wasn't hopeful, I'll be honest. Also, hey had so many rugs in there, I figured it would take months to get ours back. A few weeks later our rug was back. Sharian did an amazing job! Not only were all the stinky smells gone (and believe me, I have a sensitive nose, and I smelled it up close all over to be sure!) but the stains were gone too. All for a VERY affordable price to save a pricey wool area rug. I am very pleased and impressed by Sharian. I would recommend them to anyone with an area rug that is soiled or smelly. Since our beloved Frenchie couldn't smell any residual odors, she has not returned to the rug to pee. We couldn't be happier with Sharian. Thank you! This is not your father's Sharian's. This is not the same family business that I have used for the last thirty years to clean my rugs. A few years ago I brought in a beautiful new rug that my husband had gotten in India to have it moth-proofed. A young guy that I'd never seen before received the rug, put it down and began to assess it while an older man that I'd dealt with before at Sharian's looked on. The younger guy made some fairly disparaging remarks about the rug, which at the time made me think he was trying to impress the older guy with his vast knowledge about carpets, nothing more than immature cockiness, overcompensating to mask his insecurity. It seemed like he was being considered for a job and his comments were of no importance to me. I loved the rug, wanted it moth-proofed, and assumed they did what they were paid to do. That was then, but guess who's in charge now? Yep. Mr. Cocky. A few weeks ago I brought in a small rug ( 3x5' ) to be cleaned and moth-proofed. The receptionist gave me an estimate and told me it would be ready in two weeks. I asked if I could pick it up a few days earlier because I was going out of town in two weeks. The receptionist said no problem and wrote the date I requested on the receipt. When I went to Sharian's to pick it up on the date I requested my rug was nowhere to be found. I waited 45 minutes while they searched. While I was waiting I observed the cocky young guy I remembered from a few years back, with a customer, assessing a small, beautiful rug with a very unique design. "It's a nice little piece" he told her "but it's not worth much". Classy. And condescending. Forty five minutes later, when my rug was located, and still not cleaned and mothproofed nearly two weeks later, I too got to experience the same level of condescension the cocky guy had given his earlier customer. Only this time he had a sidekick. Neither guy introduced themselves, or told me their titles, so I have no idea who they were but the second guy told me he "never authorized" my 3x5' rug to be cleaned three days earlier than the two week time period they initially told me, as if that had been an unreasonable request on my part. I got the impression that their primary intention was not to help me or to resolve the situation in a way that would be satisfactory to me, the customer. Instead I got the distinct impression that the intention was to double team, and possibly intimidate. There was no friendliness, no apology for the miscommunication, no willingness to be of service or to make it right. The only solution offered by the cocky guy, which sounded like a challenge more than a solution, was "or you could just take it now", uncleaned. Since I had paid in full when I dropped the rug off two weeks earlier, I left the rug, but was furious. After I got back to town and went to pick up the rug, the receptionist was cold and appeared defensive, not friendly and helpful as she had been when I brought in the rug . Number two guy was in the waiting area and appeared to recognize me from the week before because he gave me a quick, forced smile that was patently insincere. When I looked at him and did not smile back he promptly went over to the receptionist and told her to write out a gift certificate, all the while avoiding any contact with me. The receptionist handed me the gift certificate with out a word. This tells me everyone knew they screwed up, and they knew I was not happy but nonetheless lacked the emotional intelligence, knowledge of customer service, and over all business smarts to know how to handle a situation with an unhappy customer. The only person to express regret over my dissatisfaction was the guy who carried the rug to my car, and who is likely one of the most under-paid and over-worked employees there. As the owner of a successful small business for over twenty years, I know the importance of customer retention and satisfaction. One unhappy customer is going to have a much more lasting and damaging impact on the business than the cost of a refund, and a sincere apology. The Sharian's gift certificate was promptly relegated to the shredder. I will no longer be doing business with them. There is another family owned rug cleaning service in town that I've heard good things about. They will even pick up the rugs at no extra charge! While I was waiting for my rug the second time I noticed a photo displayed prominently by the reception desk. It was a picture of the cocky guy and a young woman named Sharian. It appears that the cocky guy has married into the family and has taken over the business. How sad that the company started and successfully nurtured for over eighty years by Armenian immigrants will probably not survive another generation now that someone who clearly doesn't care about the family business is in charge. read more

Superlative. We went in recently to get two rugs cleaned and repaired and took advantage of a sale to buy another. This is literally the ONLY shop in town that I'd use for cleaning or repairs. I used to work in the wholesale rug business years ago and this is the same company we used at that time. The people in the showroom were knowledgeable, patient, and friendly, and the prices were a good deal cheaper than what I've seen elsewhere. We had a wool rug that both a cat and dog started using the rug to pee on after the stress of moving to a new house. No matter how much we tried to clean the spots ourselves, there always remained a noticeable urine smell. We took it to Sharian and they did an excellent job in removing the stains and smell. It took a couple of weeks, but they explained the process and timeframe to me and the wait was worth having it done right. Not a trace of smell was left. Along with immersion cleaning, the provider's services also including spraying our two rugs for protection from possible moth damage and wrapping them for storage. The quote received from the provider was fair, and they honored their original quote when we picked up our rugs. Our rugs were ready on the date promised, and the provider's staff was very helpful in loading our rugs in to our truck and securing them for the drive home. We are happy with the service received from this provider and would not hesitate to use them again. read more

I DO NOT recommend Sharian. I had a rug that needed cleaning and was given a quote and scheduled the pick up. Regardless of whether you have the rug cleaned or not you owe $130 for that. Upon pick up I was told that the particular type of rug that I had (Sisal) was not cleanable. During the initial phone conversation I was not asked what type of rug I had. I feel like that's important information to have known before scheduling a pick up obviously because otherwise I would not have scheduled it and therefore not have owed the $130. Just seems like a simple thing that could've easily been avoided with the proper professionalism and consideration. Furthermore, since they had taken the time to come I decided to send another rug to make it worth my money. After two weeks with no word I called to check on the status and was simply told that a message had been left with me to discuss the pricing. I did not receive the message and no action has been taken on the rug since and now will be another matter of weeks before it's returned. I'd like to note that this is honestly the first review I've ever left. I'm not the type of person to do that. In fact, I haven't even complained to the people themselves. I'm going to swallow my pride, pay the money, and take this as a lesson learned. read more
