I went in for an initial consult and was told to get an MRI (which cost me $600). Dr Kalant did a zoom meeting with me to go over the results and said his office would be calling me to schedule surgery. No one ever called. Three weeks went by and I called twice and both times I was told Dr Kalant was too busy and that I'd get a call back but no one ever called back. I was no longer confident in having my procedure done at this establishment so I eventually stopped reaching out. They have now sent me collections for a bill when I had absolutely no treatment done and am paying $600 still for an absolutely useless MRI.

I will preface this review by saying Dr. Michael Pink is quite adept at what he does. He should,…read morehowever, take his skills elsewhere before the stink of the place rubs off on him. Otherwise, Kalant and Associates is a virtual money factory. You will be billed roughly double what you pay elsewhere. If your insurance doesn't pick up the costs (and it won't because the costs are unjustifiable), you will be billed for the balance. I made an appointment contingent upon not having a consultation. My insurance does not cover consults, and I made it very clear that if there was a consultation, I would find another dentist. They agreed to waive the consultation. It was a simple extraction ordered by my regular dentist and there were x-rays. About a month after the appointment - SURPRISE - I got a bill for a consultation that never happened. When my husband drove to the office to let them know I was billed for a service not received, he was treated with condescension and arrogance by Kalant. One of the office workers sat there smirking like a chimp as he attempted to rectify the situation. We thought the above might have solved the problem. No such luck. Greed is, after all, good - and I received Kalant's invoice in the mail. Kalant's office staff wins the prize for the absolute nastiest, rudest bunch of unprofessional nitwits I've ever seen. When I questioned the need for yet another xray (due to cancer risks), the technician said snottily, "It's your choice. If you don't like it, you can leave." The tooth hurt. I wanted it pulled. Otherwise, I would have told this inexcusably rude individual exactly where to go and what to take with her. The intern was unable to properly take my blood pressure. The cuff valve wasn't closed. It was leaking air as she pumped. But, she was too green to realize it. Rather than admitting her ignorance, she came up with a fictional reading that had nothing to do with my actual blood pressure, which I take daily. Oh, and don't expect the receptionist to let you know the doctor is running 30 minutes behind schedule. She's too busy watching "The View" and taking personal phone calls. You'll sit there until you grow roots before she acknowledges you. The doctor spent five minutes pulling my tooth. There was NO consultation involved. His dental assistant just about kicked me out the door while my mouth bled profusely. I felt humiliated. The office staff and dental assistants should be cleaning toilets rather than dealing with the public. They're really that bad. Save yourself the aggravation, time, frustration and humiliation. Save yourself being ripped off and charged for services not rendered. Save yourself the arrogance. You deserve better. There are may fine dental offices in the area. This is NOT one of them.

Once the braces were on, my teeth started moving in multiply directions. They looked worst then…read morebefore the braces were put on. When the process was complete, I was still left with gaps between some of my teeth and still had an overbite. Dr. Laguatan was upset that I asked him for a permeant retainer. While putting in the permeant retainer Dr. Laguatan changed the shape of 3 of my top incisor teeth by shaving them without me consenting to him doing so. My front tooth looked like a Chiclet. (During this appointment I witnessed him yelling at his dental assistant while working in my mouth). While putting the permeant retainer in Dr. Laguatan stuck metal rods through my top gum line without numbing the area (this was VERY painful to the point I was shaking in his chair) I was shaking so bad that when he walked out of the room the dental assistant asked me on a scale of 1-10 how bad is my pain. It was so severe" I told her Very Painful. In truth my pain level was beyond a 10. I asked Dr. Laguatan to numb my bottom gums before putting rods through my gums because the process he was using was very painful. He tells me he doesn't want the numbing medicine to affected the cement binding process. He then stuck the metal rods through my bottom teeth (instead of numbing my bottom gums like I asked him to (he chipped my bottom tooth and caused my gum line to be moved downward. He had to remove the permeant retainer because there were still gaps in my teeth. Before he put the 2nd set of permeant retainers in, he attempted to reshape my front incisor tooth that looked like the chiclet. At the bottom corner you can still tell he shaved my tooth because one corner is still pointy. He shaved down a filling he put in on a tooth prior to me getting brace during my brace's appointment for no reason at all and now that tooth is sore and sensitive to cold and hot liquids/food. My new dentist had told me the only way to fix this issue is to get a Crown on the tooth he shaved because is now nerve affected and there is not a cavity on the tooth. When I asked Dr. Laguatan to remove the cement off my gum line he did so then at the end of my appointment Dr. Laguatan proceeded to say, "I don't know why you asked me to remove the cement from your gums because I just added it right back to your gums." Dr. Laguatan referred to me as Humpty Dumpty and home girl. Dr. Laguatan left the bottom permanent retainer and the cemented area on the retainer so uneven and rough that it began slicing the tip of my tongueDuring another appointment Dr. Laguatan pushed the head rest down while my head was laying on it and then asked me if that was more comfortable. Immediately I started feeling pain in my lower neck and upper back. Dr. Laguatan comprised the integrity of my front top and bottom front teeth by grinding a horizontal line across the top and bottom row teeth. Now I feel pain when hot and cold food or liquids touch my front top and bottom row teeth. After telling Dr. Laguatan my top and bottom roll teeth are now so sensitive to hot and cold food and it is even painful for my tongue to touch my teeth he tells me that I should try Sensodyne tooth paste. I let Dr. Laguatan know my pain was so serve that it lasted for days and I am worried that the nerves in my teeth are now exposed he cut me off and stated all we did was put wire and cement in the area. Then he proceeded to ask me questions about teeth that I did not say bothered me in an attempt to question my integrity. When Dr. Laguatan put in my removeable retainers it tasted very funny. My tongue began hurting. By night my tongue was burning. I removed the retainers washed them and soaked them in mouthwash. Instantly the burning on my tongue started to subside. The next 4-5 days my tongue was sore and swollen but not burning as much as it was before. The surrounding of mouth was also sore. The bottom retainer he put in my mouth had been altered or was defective. There were two razor-sharp metal pieces on each side of the retainer that stuck in the top of 2 of my back teeth. Dr. Laguatan didn't put braces on of my top moral teeth now food gets completely stuck between these teeth and it is very uncomfortable when I eat. When I told him food keeps getting stuck in my teeth, he started arguing with me and then took floss and acted as though he was checking the areas in question but never placed the floss in the areas in questioned, he just bypassed those areas. My new dentist has since told me they only way to fix this issue is to get braces again. I wouldn't refer Dr. Laguatan to anyone in this world. Run as far as possible from this dentist as you possibly can. If I could give the Dr. zero stars I would do so.
