I need extensive dental work and the staff is beyond amazing. When I walk in, I am greeted by name by everyone. Sometimes, someone in the back will come upfront to say hi. It's not because I'm so special; it's everyone who works there who is special. Dr. Aziz, I don't know how he does it, but every procedure is painless. Today, he had to remove two roots that were way in the back, one being near sensitive nerves. Not only did I not feel the novocaine shots, I didn't feel the extractions either. When he was finished, he told me that I did a good job. I replied that was only because he did a good job. Blanca deserves kudos as well because she's always concerned about your comfort. If you're looking for a dental practice that prioritizes their patients and the best quality of care, I would drive 50 miles to go to North Aurora Smiles. I'm pretty sure I'm close to the word limit, but I would give them all 10 stars . read more

We love Dr. Aziz; however the office is rude. They have canceled my son's appointment due to hygienists' schedule. I try and reschedule and they tell me nothing available for 3 months, unless I pull him out of school. They canceled on us; they should be working him in. I called on 2/22/2024 due to a cavity that was filled causing me issues, I was told no doctor in and someone would call me the following Monday. It is now 3/13/2024 and no call. It's too bad as my family of 5 love Dr. Aziz; but this is bad business. read more

The dentist was wonderful with my girls and the location was great but here is where I need to end the warm reviews. The front office is inconsiderate and condescending. I dont know the in's and out's of dentist billing but I know when I am being taking advantage of. Just saying be mindful of what you pay for and what your insurance pays for. I went in to the office to discuss a followup on a tooth that had been filled a week prior since it was causing my daughter pain.....the receptionist couldn't explain what the billing was about and the four other girls in the office didn't turn around from their computers to offer any explanation as well. After searching for a dentist in the area who was gentle and thorough, I decided to try North Aurora Smiles. I had not been to a dentist in many years and was concerned about the staff and dentist being nonjudgmental. I was greeted and introduced to the entire front staff who were very friendly and informative. My hygienist, Tammy, was very funny, pleasant, and put me at ease while taking x-rays and cleaning my teeth, along with Blanca, who assisted her. Dr. Aziz was very gentle and thorough when examining my mouth and discussing his findings. Debbie, his dental assistant, was light hearted and eager to readdress my questions regarding his treatment plan and scheduled my next appointment. Even though my insurance was out of network with them, they were still able to file my claim honoring my benefits. All things considered, I believe the overall treatment in my early stages of my treatment plan justify my choice to continue with North Aurora Smiles. read more

Dr Aziz and his staff are definitely the A team. There is not enough space to describe the level of outstanding care they provide. I am a mom of 4 and VERY fussy with our families dental care. With that being said I was referred to Dr. Aziz and am EXTREMELY pleased. His office is very kind, thorough and Dr. Aziz is professional, extremely knowledgable, patient and kind. He takes his time to explain and answer any and all questions you may have. His dental hygienists are friendly, pay a close attention to detail and extremely knowledgable. Not to mention phenomenal with children. This office is the best of the best. I guarantee once you visit this office you will not go anywhere else. This is one of the best referrals I have received. This office is so unfriendly. They are unprofessional. They have been rescheduling my appointments for me and my son for 3 months now. Today I received two calls one at 11:50 confirming information about the covid process. They then called me today litteraly 15 minutes later to cancel... stating the hygenist has been in contact with covid. Yet their office is still open? You really don't care for the health of your patients If your still seeing other patients even though you have all come in contact with your hygenist...all about the money I suppose. Probably why you're charging the additional covid fees. read more

Let me say, I love doctor Aziz and all the talent he has brought to this office and Susan the wonderful hygienist . I simply can not go here anymore because the office is filled with some of the most prejudice, condescending, unprofessional children I've ever had the misfortune of encountering. The first hygienist I ever had was awful, appointments I cancelled weeks prior dude to travel and had rescheduled then mysteriously were never documented by Maria who suddenly no longer works there according to Erica, and when I've come to decide on giving them a second chance, I'm told "well we can't confirm your appointment through email anymore because you had said you weren't coming back" yeah over two months ago and since then had spoken to dr aziz who apologized on behalf of his staff for their lack of proper communication. I was scheduled for an appointment, that they clearly didn't plug in and then had the audacity to infer I "thought" I had an appointment. NO someone didn't do their job. Can not take this place anymore, dr aziz I will miss you but Erica is a Cancerous tumor and a sad example for an office manager. I'm glad I live an hour away because Erica I would LOVE to see you give me that same attitude to my face, PLEASE! You're a joke! read more

The Dr. and hygienist were top notch but the billing department cost me an extra $400 for 3 filings. They were fully aware that my insurance would not cover the amalgam fillings on the back teeth but they waited until after it was done before they mentioned it to me. Then, we I came back in to cancel my future appointments they didn't even care to explain why they didn't notify me, or the doctor, to prevent a $100 out of pocket job from turning into $500+. Really sad to find a good doctor with such a bad billing department. read more

I can't speak highly enough. Easy and quick appointments, almost no wait time, nicest staff ever. The office is clean and thoughtfully designed with a great children's area and drink station for adults. We recently moved to the area and needed to find a family dentist. After reading reviews I chose to go with North Aurora Smiles, and I couldn't be happier that I did. So far they have seen both my young daughters, ages 3 1/2 and almost 2. I was nervous about their age (1st appointments ever) and it being a scary experience, but the staff was incredibly kind and encouraging. My 3 year old actually keeps asking to go back, she had such a great time! I have my own appointment coming up, I'm sure it will be just as good of an experience. Initially, I had a great impression. They were able to schedule me the day after a traumatic injury to assess procedures. I scheduled an appt, was told if the swelling did not go down by 24 hrs prior to my procedure, to call/reschedule. I did as I was instructed because swelling was still too much for work. I received a late cancellation charge. I intially overlooked it because I was satisfied with my repair. I also overlooked the fact that they did not double check to make sure my insurance had been run until after I paid-that was credited to my account, no biggie, considering I was to pay for my cap. Now, Dr. Aziz is amazing and did a great job repairing my teeth. He was super gentle, kind and professional. Fast forward to scheduling a cleaning, they got me in about 4 weeks out. Called to confirm the Fri/ Sat before my Tues appt, to which I confirmed. Mon I woke up with a slight sore throat, but figured I could power through. By Tues morning, it was full blown flu with upper respiratory infection. I called in the first hour they were open to reschedule the appt, mostly out of respect for the hygienists/doctor. Kelly answered the phone and this is where I changed my opinion of their business practices. I confirmed there would be a late cancellation fee of $30 (that was the fee on my accident repair's bill) to which she quoted "$35/ half hour because people late cancel without a real reason and it was to prevent that  from happening." My appt was 1.5hrs and it was $105 to cancel. $35 is one thing and I understood/was fine with that but $105. No. Kelly asked if I would be willing to keep the appt so long as I was going to be comfortable, not running a fever or having to stop to cough. "They wear masks, so a sore throat isn't a concern." I told her for $105, I would be there, it was a courtesy to the professionals, to go ahead and keep my appt. I then touched base on the accident, my instructions and the late cancellation fee on that one-to which she tried to explain it away, calling it part of the charges for my first appt but not an actual late cancellation fee. She tried moving on saying that if I was really sick, she could send a note to the billing dept requesting they consider the late cancellation charges because I was truly ill. I told her, I would keep my appt because I wasn't gambling $105. She said she can pretty much say I won't get charged that but can't actually promise. I again told her I would like to keep the appt and if they needed to accommodate my illness, it wasn't my problem. I wasn't just cancelling, I was actually sick. I'm a SAHM to littles, the dentist is a mini vacation. She suggested that I come in earlier- I couldn't. Husband works. She offered to make a call to the billing dept because it was obviously guna be an issue and could call me back. I declined. She insisted she would get an answer so I wouldn't be charged and they would reschedule. I confronted her over that fact that we started at point A and she had now run circles/back tracked enough that it had become questionable practices, I wanted to keep my appointment, we will see how it goes and I will adjust my reviews accordingly. Boom! She was calling billing and would get back to me asap. I gave in because it was clear that she wasn't trying to keep my appt any longer. Hung up and  less than 3 minutes later, my phone is ringing and Kelly had gotten her manager who said waive the fees and reschedule me for the next Thursday at 10:30am. I let her schedule the appt but ended up mulling over the conversation and decided to seek an alternative dentist because I do not trust the billing practices anymore. I understsnd late cancellation fees and was willing to pay the $35 but then it turned into $105 only to be waived. So, needless to say, Dr. Aziz lost a family of four because of the questionable billing and the way Kelly handled the issue. 5 stars for Dr. Aziz, 2 for the receptionist. It's an unfortunate ending. read more

Had a great experience today! We switched to using Smiles a couple of months ago. Very impressed with the staff- love the reminder system they have for your upcoming appointments. Had to have a filling replaced that I had done by another dentist that was not done well- no pain, even with the shots and they were very attentive to my needs. I have oddball nerves that have prevented me from painless dental procedures my entire life. I thought I would just have to live with that.... until I met Dr. Aziz. He took extraordinary time with me to make me feel comfortable and continued the numbing shots (which I couldn't feel either) until the I could feel nothing. After not going to a dentist for far too long, I started coming here on recommendation from my brother. Could not be happier. Dr Aziz really takes his time and I was surprised I couldn't feel the shot at all. I thought maybe I was a special case, but I hear its pretty common among his patients. He also seems to take his referrals seriously. My procedures with referred dentists/oral surgeons went very well. What a great find! I absolutely used to hate the dentist til I tried this office after moving to North Aurora!! Great Staff!! So professional, caring, and knowledgable. I have never had such an informative and great dental expierence before. Stacy (the hygenist) is sooo nice and knowledgable. She easily puts you at ease and my cleaning was virtually pain free. I used to grip the chair during cleanings, not with Stacy. She used a numbing medication which did wonders. As well as she took photos so I could see the damage on my teeth. After not going to the dentist for 1 1/2 year, I had many cavities. At my previous dentist I was made to feel like a bad guy whenever anything with wrong. With North Aurora Smiles, both the hygenist and Dr. Aziz give great reinforcement on caring for your teeth without feeling like your being put down or reprimanded. Absolutely love this place! They took the time to educate me on how to care for my teeth, and did the most thorough cleaning and exam I've ever had. The office is comfortable and up to date with the latest technology. I use to love this place and I still love Dr. Aziz but for the last 3 years the front desk has drove me insane. Constant issues with billing and changing my appointment times. Even with a card with a time on it when confirming they force me to take a later time that has changed somehow from them writing it down and putting it in the computer. If you cant get over the front desk the dentist at least Dr. Aziz is great. read more

Once they filed a claim with the wrong insurance company and then asked ME to call them and correct it. I keep expecting an improvement but I am disappointed every time I go. read more

I had moved to this area and needed to pick a new dentist. I picked North Aurora Smiles based on their Yelp reviews, and I couldn't be happier! For a dentist office, this place is awesome! Their staff is great! Dr Aziz is amazing! I had to have my first cavity filling recently, and I didn't feel a thing! He explained everything as he was going along, and he was patient in answering my questions. The office is clean, and they have TVs in every room so it's a nice distraction! I feel that they care about their patients. I have to go back to have another filling on the other side of my mouth, and I'm not even worried about it this time! I left my last appointment knowing I made the right choice in choosing a dentist! I am now compliant with my teeth, and couldn't ask for better care from North Aurora Smiles! read more

The dentist was okay -- knew what he was doing and willing to accommodate. The billing and office personnel not so much. The receptionist on the phone is not very friendly, especially when cancelling appointments (if you don't cancel the appointment well in advance they will charge you $35). Their billing department overcharged us -- did not adhere to the rules for our dental insurance and according to our insurance company should have only been out of pocket for $50 ended up being 3 times that.
