I went in to get my first tattoo by Justin. He is a very talented artist and made me feel very comfortable and welcome. He made sure I was happy with everything before beginning. He crafted a very precise piece of art and I couldn't be happier. He carried out conversations between me and my friend the entire time. He is ex-military and had great stories to tell us. The facility was very clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend coming to this facility and especially Justin. This isn't his first rodeo, he knows what he's doing. I chose Dr. Jack's for a particular artist who has phenomenal work, has tattooed someone I know, and came highly recommended. I needed it done right because it's a memorial and well tattoos are you know, forever. I got right in for consultation, and the artist came up with an INCREDIBLE design that was PERFECT for what I wanted. I show up to my appointment, and the shop is closed. I call the artist and am told I mixed up my appointment day. This tattoo was VERY important to me, and I put my appointment in my calendar during consultation. But hey, everyone makes mistakes, including me. No big deal. I come another week later and get my tattoo. My tattoo was beautiful on day one-although a bit more inflamed than usual for me. It took many weeks to heal. It scabbed horribly. Thick, disgusting scabs. (I have other tattoos and none of them scabbed, all healed quickly and easily). I reached out to my artist and he was at first kind and concerned. Said maybe it's a little overworked and maybe I reacted to the ink. I went to see a dermatologist who ruled out infection and allergic reactions, but said my skin was unusually inflamed in comparison with other newer tattoos he's seen that are not complicated by infection NOR reactions. Next step-I had some other artists have a look. Here's a summary of what other artists had to say: ~HAMBURGER. BURGER KING. Grossly overworked. Scarred. Will require a coverup. Artist worked as if using black and gray when color takes a different technique~BUT, I kept faith in my artist and saw him for a follow up, although getting that follow up was...a bit difficult. I had to reach out several times to actually be seen. When he finally did see the results, he assured me it could be fixed. He said he wouldn't stop until I was happy with the final result. It's almost 6 months later and I can't seem to get in to get my tattoo corrected. The artist says he will call and get me in, but he doesn't actually call. Calls to the shop just ring. Left voicemail at the shop-no one returns the call. I don't normally write bad reviews, but for a memorial piece for a dear loved one I'm not happy at all for having paid $500 (and I added a $100 tip on top of that) and for that I received a scarred tattoo and very low priority service. I don't remember the name of the guy who did my septum piercing and my husband's double Monroe, but he was very nice. We had these piercings done like 2 years ago now, but I wasn't on yelp at that time. I have a horrible pain tolerance and I'm a big chicken. I've had numerous piercings and delivered two babies for crying out loud, but the needles.. They get me every time! I have a history of seizures and usually they're brought on by pain. I discussed this with the guy who did the work for us and he was very nice and gentle, well as gentle as you can be shoving a needle through someone. Haha. When he was done I started to get the feeling I get when I'm about to pass out, and he gave me a glucose tab that helped. I appreciated that he had them on hand for those situations. The only thing I didnt like was the room was really dark. When he marked hubbies lip before piercing, he had him look in the mirror first to check if it was even. We couldn't really tell, and it ended up a little uneven but nothing noticeable unless you knew. Not a bad shop, the people are nice, just make sure your stuff is even. (: read more

I walked into Dr. Jacks for my first Tattoo last Friday night (Sept 23, 2016). I swore up and down I would never get a tattoo, but had tried a temporary one when I was on vacation and decided I would get one. I gave the tattoo artist a picture of what I wanted and he went to work (I had it placed on my leg). He made me feel so at ease and reassured me that it would turn out the way I wanted it to. I have to say, it was the best experience I've ever had in my life and was just a little uncomfortable; totally not what I expected at all as far a pain goes!! So I booked a session at Dr. Jack's Ink Imporium on the 13th, well I got the flu and could barely move. So I emailed the guy to let him know. Then got ahold of him again and he picked a time and day, but I had to be at the hospital all day with my daughter and wasn't able to get into the session. So i have now been informed that he is keeping my $100 gift card that i have saved for a long time for time and money lost. WTH!!!!! HE NEVER ANSWERED MY MESSAGES AND NOW IM OUT $100!!!!!! I stopped into the shop and showed Canada what o was wanting for a tattoo! He said he would draw something up and be ready by my appointment. I added a few changes to the tattoo and I emailed him and he added the add ons. I was going in to get my five year cancer free tattoo. Canada did an amazing job on the tattoo it was more than i even imagined. It perfectly tells the story of my journey. I have showed people the tattoo who are anti tattoo and they love it! What can I say about Dr. Jacks? First of all, wow! The place is so clean and inviting and the artists are insanely nice. I called this morning asking if I could get a tattoo today, and they fit me in, which I thought was extremely cool. The artists are professional as well as laid back and easy to talk to. The last tattoo I got from another shop ended up infected and is in terrible shape, so I told my artist that I was a little scared of getting a new ink. He was so gentle and kind and made the whole process smooth and effortless. I think the whole tattooing portion took like 10 minutes max (I got a very simple design). I highly recommend this shop and the amazing artists. I've already booked my next appointment to fix my messed up ink from a Council Bluffs tattoo shop that will not be named. read more

Went here with my younger sister for her first cartilage piercing. Aaron was a fantastic piercer! He was friendly and talked to my sister, me, and my mom, and put all of us at ease. This review is late but still important! I went to get snake bites done and I was nervous! I wasn't sure what to expect but I felt safe here, every employee I met was realy cool and kind to. When I finally met the person doing my piercing I felt really comfortable about getting my piercings done. He was funny but processional, really knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I've never had a bad experience there until today and will definitely be keeping my business elsewhere from now on.
