This doctor is just plain weird. He kept me waiting for an appointment for over 40 mins where the exam room was right next to his office. I could hear him on the phone having a personal conversation about "getting together." He then came into the exam room and said that he was "catching up with a friend from college." He than began to inject a solution in o veins in my legs. The pain was so severe that I told he to stop! He did not stop and said to "hang in there, I'm almost done." I again told him to get away from me. I should have reported him. I will NEVER go back to see this so called doctor. read more

If you want to be treated like you're not worth my time, make an appointment to see Dr Ganem. I was there for a vein ablation in my right leg. The room staff prepared me for the procedure saying there would be little to no pain. So Dr Ganem enters the room and sits right down, he said nothing directly to me. As he proceeded, I was in real pain as he said bud--not my name! He continued WITHOUT addressing my pain issue. (So far I had 5 knee replacements and one hip rebuilding-no pain. For AFib I had two in hospital procedures with a friendly concerned Cardiovascular Surgeon. Very Minor pain) Dr Ganem continued as I let him know it was painful with sharp stings. He said hang in there Bud! I was about to yell HANDS OFF you're done! It was over as he ran out of the room. "If you experience pain call 480-899-9430 which I did. Glad I recorded my voice mail to Joy. No return call for a day then Joy call but I wasn't available. I call her back and requested a call back. Again I recorded the message. No return call. Then I called again and said I have a problem we must discuss. No call back . So one week ago I called back again stating I have a problem and will step back from future appointments. Again no call back. All of my calls were recorded due to no call backs. I can not, will not recommend Dr Ganem for anything! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Ganem for over a year and I am grateful for finding Dr. Ghanim and staff after my heart attack. Dr. Ganem explained my condition thoroughly and he pleasantly answer my concerns. The staff are always friendly with good attitude. However, one of the staff at the Maricopa location stands out. FNP-C Jamie Harris always goes above and beyond her duties. She is there for the patients and always responds to my messages in a timely manner. Dr Ganem is rude, dismissive and apathetic! I was referred to him by a coworker after going to the hospital for high BP and erratic heart rate. On my office visit my BP was 142/95 and I told him several times that sometimes I feel like I may have a stroke. He did nothing, and sent me home, and I woke up in the middle of the night with high BP and erratic heart rate. I will NEVER go back to this doctor!! read more

I like and trust Dr. Ganem and intend to continue with him as long as I am in the area or at least as long as he is on my insurance. He has a relaxed yet direct and honest communication style that is very refreshing. In my several visits with the good doctor and his staff I have had overall good experiences and I would recommend him. At this point I am docking from 5 stars based on what can best be considered a glitch in the administration of prescriptions and samples as executed through the support staff at the practice. I have a strange heart disease, Printzmetals Angina. I've had it since 2011. It has been difficult to find a cardiologist that knows how to treat it, until I had my appointment with Dr. Ganem. I was so happy with my latest appointment with him when he explained how he was going to treat my disease. I literally clapped my hands and exclaimed, "I'm so excited". I know, it sounds weird to be excited about a Dr.'s appointment. But, I could tell that he gets it. He named off several studies that he found on my disease and it's treatment and that was my first clue that I had finally found a cardiologist that can treat me. I highly recommend him for regular heart disease but especially the odd heart disease out there. I am posting this for all the heart disease sufferers out there that are in a quandary where to go? I've thought to myself, "Who out there, actually has a clue about my particular heart problem?" I don't want others to go through the constant anxiety of not being treated correctly and having constant angina. read more

Dr. Ganem is very arrogant and condescending. He comes off as inconsiderate and rude when you meet him. He may be a good doctor, but he lacks character. I need his clearance for a procedure that allows me to be able to eat, and he was so irritated that I called the emergency number and requested he call me. My other doctor would not perform the procedure until Dr. Ganem sent a clearance form. His staff is just as bed, especially their billing department. They could not explain charges on a bill, and admitted they were wrong. They removed some, and then tried to make excuses as to why the others were charge. After agreeing to an amount to pay, she took my payment and then slammed the phone down on me. I would never recommend anyone to this doctor. read more

Recently, my husband had an appointment with Dr. Ganem who usually sent him home with a pat on the back telling hubby that he is fine as his condition worsens. This time, hubby went into the office armed with his wife! And Dr. Ganem, who usually comes in quick, took almost an hour to see us this time. Fine we'll wait. Cause I had questions that needed to be answered. My issue is that this cardiologist seems like he was bothered by my questions, as if I was taking up his time. First of all, he is paid and my husband is in pain. So, I figured he owed us the time we're paying him for. Hubby seems to like him. But as for me, he has a lot to prove. Got us in right away. The lady who answered the phone and the drs are wonderful. I recommend these Cardiologists if you are looking for one. My hubby had to go to Mayo Clinic for a different issue, and they insisted on doing a full workup, including cardiology stuff--didn't find anything different than what Dr Ganem said (AND, they mayo EKG gal didn't do the EKG right and was frightened that my hubby was having a heart attack as she did the test and kept panickedly asking him if he was ok, and he was very relaxed!). So, if Mayo is the best, Dr Ganem and East Valley Cardiology are also the best, as they have better EKG techs! I read on here that Dr Ganem doesn't have good bedside manner. He was a little cool, but in no way did I feel uncomfy around him. Dr Einhorn, his associate, is my cardiologist, and he is very funny and engaging. if you are looking for good drs, choose either of these guys. if you want entertainment, probably Dr Einhorn, then, as you'll get fun and good doctoring. Dr Ganem has a great reputation and there's a reason. He's that good. But you probably won't be able to get any funny jokes out of him. read more

I saw Dr. Ganem one time. He was so hurtful and mean. He hardly listened to my answers to his questions, in fact he would talk right over me. He got so close to my face and asked me questions, but acted like I was irritating him with my answers. Finally, when I had had enough I said, "whoa, why are you attacking me?" I thought to myself, this man cannot be part of my health care team. My Mom and sister were with me, I told them we were leaving. By the time I got to the waiting room tears were running down my face. He's not a nice man. (I gave one star only because it wouldn't let me continue with no stars). read more

This was a great experience. I was able to get an appointment within a few days of referral and all tests with one week. When I met with Dr Ganem he took the time to listen and answer all of my questions even stating he was there to make sure all my concerns were addressed. I have yet to truly grasp Dr Ganem and his intentions to meet the needs of his patient. My husband was originally sent to Dr Ganem after an appointment with General Practice Primary was worried about an EKG. After a series of tests we scheduled angiogram during which it was discovered a necessary an urgent open heart surgery was necessary and that was performed satisfactory. Months after the quadruple bypass the decision to attempt "roto rooter" of legs was discussed with associate Dr Fraij. The first scheduled procedure , right leg, was stopped without totally clearing blockage as time became factor. A second procedure scheduled for left leg to "gain confidence" from patient and was completely successful in clearing 100%. Later a third procedure was scheduled to finish clearing right leg. This appointment was rescheduled do to an issue with hospital not having the correct cathedar on hand. The procedure completed but not without issue. My husband and I had not had any discussions with Dr Fraij for a possible event that would result in having to implant a stent or stents. As a result of procedure three stents were implanted. Approximately three weeks later begin to notice stinging blisters, very itchy, rash, and swelling of skin happening. After about a week trying to figure out why which at first appeared as maybe an insect issue, I contacted Dr Fraij. After changes to medications, instructions to change medications, added medications and adding steroids as well as anti itch creams without any change but continued to exhibit more and more areas of the body, scheduled office visit for Dr Fraij but office inducated that Dr Ganem needed to see him. Confused, I questioned this and was told the procedure was done by Dr Fraih as a courtesy of Dr Ganems. So at the appointment we expressed our concerns about reaction allergy to stents which he indicated he had never heard of. I told him of research we had done with and on the very website of the manufacturing company of the stents which he says he tried to locate on the website when he stepped out of office briefly. Result if visit so we had thought was that the test patch kit that was not used prior to stent implant could and would be ordered to check for the possible allergic reaction and given more steroids to minimalize skin breakout for time being. Five days later hadnt heard from the office and upon checking learned that after he spoke to someone from the company he had not ordered the test patch and suggested he see a dermatologist. Now I notice many reviews say that he cares and shares concerns with patients and how details are given and understood as to patient conditions and I had thought similar but at this point im just not feeling that but yet the opposite. "Go away" deal with it and figure it out. Im sure an attorney will be knocking kind of attitude with care none for husbands conditions improving or that the symptoms were as a result of anything to do with procedure completed by Dr Fraij read more

Dr. Ganem and Dr. Dappen have treated my heart for more than a decade. They are dedicated, smart, current in procedures and technology and they take the time to explain and care. With their care of my AHD and CDF I expect to live a full life with few limitations. I give them my strongest recommendation. I had 4x bypass at age 45, have 13 stents, went from pacemaker to defibulator, etc. Lucky to have known grandchildren and have had a successful business career and having near normal retirement. I was hospitalized with an irregular heartbeat called afib at Chandler Regional Hospital where Dr. Ganem was the physician assigned to my treatment. He is not my regular cardiologist but I found him to be arrogant and not very informative. He put me on a medication which was to treat the irregular heartbeat. After being released from the hospital, I developed what I thought was afib again. Went to my regular cardiologist and discovered the medication had given me a heart flutter. I found out from 2 cardiologists and an Internist that the medication that Dr. Ganem had given me was not appropriate for my medical condition. read more

I, too can attest to Dr. Ganem's professionalism and caring. I too placed my life in Dr. Ganem's hands two years ago. My EKG was normal, BP and heart rate was normal, too. Dr. Ganem's response was to schedule me for test on Monday. Monday morning I was having chest pain and went to Desert Banner. By noon Dr. Ganem was was doing an angiogram and found two blocked arteries. The next morning the surgeon who performed dr. Ganem's brothers bypass was doing mine. After the surgery he was straight up; he told me the things in my lifestyle that needed to change if I wanted to stay around for awhile longer. Like Charles said;if you want a doctor to tell you what you want to hear, this isn't the guy for you. If you want coddled, he's not your guy. On the other hand, if you want to get well, get healthy and get back to enjoying life, he's your guy. Thanks, Dr. G for saving my life! And yes, I too had to wait once almost an hour. This is a very efficient and well run office. I was referred a few weeks ago to Dr. Ganem and after a stress test a couple of days later (which I failed) he had me in surgery the next day and placed 2 stents in my heart that probably saved my life. I had a heart attack and Dr. Ganem was on call that night - I guess I lucked out. He is obviously very competent at what he does, but is also took the time to answer all my questions, and those of my children at the hospital. Later, in a follow up visit, Dr. Ganem answered all my questions, and my wife's questions as well. He explained everything well, and gave solid advise about how to approach the next stage of recovery. The office staff were all very nice as well.
