I used to go to Blue Med Spa in Sherman Oaks, and every visit there would take 1-2 hours. The whole experience always felt like constant upselling from start to finish, from the front desk to the injector. It just wasn't enjoyable. My visit today was the complete opposite. The office is beautiful and very welcoming. When you walk in there's chilled champagne, orange juice for mimosas, and a lot of skincare products displayed. I'll admit I was a little nervous at first because I thought it might be another high-pressure environment. Instead, everyone was incredibly kind and relaxed. I told Kelly upfront that I had about $450-$500 to spend, and she didn't bat an eye or make me feel uncomfortable about having a budget. She treated my 11 lines and forehead wrinkles for $300, after the receptionist helped me apply a $65 coupon that she informed me about at check out. I was honestly expecting to only be able to afford my 11s like I used to at Blue, where just the forehead area would run around $550-$600 and crows feet were always extra. The difference here was huge. Kelly was thorough, knowledgeable, and efficient. She explained what she was doing, listened to what I wanted, and never once pressured me to add anything or buy extra services or products. I was in and out in about 30 minutes. I'm beyond impressed with the whole experience and so happy to be done with Blue Med Spa. Appointments have been canceled at the last minutes, sometimes with less than an hour's notice. I have even shown up only to find my appointment canceled. On another occasion, my appointment was canceled because the technician needed to give someone a ride home. As a working professional with a busy schedule, this is incredibly disappointing. The ambivalent disregard for the inconvenience to clients is honestly ridiculous. The automated booking and text system also makes communication nearly impossible. Good luck trying to call and reach an actual person to resolve an issue. When appointments are canceled last minute, I have been told the next available appointment is a month or more out. I've had appointments canceled when I was already due for service, only to be told I couldn't be seen again for a month to a month and a half. This is absurd considering the cancellation was not my fault. Even more concerning is that the salon keeps clients' credit cards on file, yet I have still been unable to reach anyone to confirm that my information has been removed. It's especially frustrating as a long-term client who has always shown up on time, tipped well, and been flexible when scheduling issues came up. At times, it feels as though clients are treated like an inconvenience rather than valued customers. At this point, the lack of professionalism and reliability has simply become ridiculous. I have used multiple services at this salon, but I will be taking all of my business elsewhere. As a long-time Santa Clarita resident, I cannot in good faith recommend this salon to my colleagues, friends, or family. I've unfortunately advised people I know to take their business elsewhere. It's disappointing to see what appears to be a once good salon decline to this level of disorganization and poor communication.
