Jay is very nice and takes the time to explain things and gives different options as well as his recommendations. He seems very honest. I walked over with my double stroller to pick up the car since the car seats were in the car being repaired, he offered next time to pick me up in my car so I can bring the kiddos, and he helped me out the door and load the stroller into the trunk for me. I am sitting in the waiting room now and I had to already write a review. I brought my car here after a quick review search due to light on my dash coming on that could either be nothing or something horrible. Jay (owner) was super nice, even took me in to show me exactly what was wrong after Harry (mechanic) looked over it. The parts I needed were in stock, and Jay even offered to have someone drive me home (since I live locally) if I didn't want to wait. The price I was quoted was extremely low and less than I expected. I consider this a very happy accident - I only brought my car here because I didn't want to travel far from my home not knowing if I was doing something to worsen my car. I'm likely going to be returning to Dr. K's for all my car issues since it's so close and I was blown away by the great, attentive service. read more

Follow up to whining noise in engine area. Friend of mine suggested I take the car to Burgess Automotive in Little Silver, who diagnosed it to my transmission they then recommended I take it to Van Kattengell Transmission in Eatontown. They found that the transmission pan had been dented and that the filter inside was totally shot. They repaired the dent and replaced the filter and fluid. All is running back to original state. I was really happy with Dr. K's. The owner whom I forget his name, picked dropped me off at my house and later picked me up at the train station. Great customer service. He also did a quality job on my brakes, with a pretty good price. And they set me up with rebates directly from NAPA. Which he pre filled out and put them in an envelope with a stamp. This guy really cares for his customers. So happy to have found a good, trustworthy mechanic nearby. read more

I am very particular about who I take my cars too. I do not trust most mechanics and have had some bad experiences in my life. Recently I had Dr. K's do some work on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 of which I have owned since it was brand new.Having moved up here from Burlington County just a few years ago I wanted to know of a trustworthy ,fair priced ,caring Auto Repair Facility in the area.My new Wife told me that she had been taking her vehicles to Dr.K's for many,many years.I trust her judgement totally as she is very careful when it comes to spending money . Getting work done to your car is almost always a frustrating experience - you never know if you're being ripped off, overcharged, or getting quality work done.
