I purchased a Groupon valid for 2 Signature Facials at Dr. LASER. It was easy to make an appointment over the phone. When I arrived there, staff was not at all friendly or welcoming, but quite snobbish and extremely pushy in trying to sell skincare products, borderline rude. Nalia, my aesthetician, was approximately 20 minutes late when we started my facial, which was supposed to last 1 hour (45 minutes of facial and 15 minutes of preparatory/finishing time). My entire session lasted less than 45 minutes. No extractions. Maybe 3 minutes of facial massage. Nalia left the room 3 times while in session, with no explanation, no apology, no communication, other than continuous offers to sell me overpriced skincare products and services. Before exiting the room, at the end of the the treatment, I had to ask for a towel to wipe off my skin because it was very oily, not just shiny, as if I still had a mask or something on, not an Obagi moisturizer! I have not seen any difference in my skin. Overall experience was not relaxing/pampering and I did not feel welcome and appreciated as a new client. I will definitely not go back. read more

Let me start by saying Zhaneta is amazing. She did my facial and I loved it. She is very knowledgeable, honest and extremely sweet. I would definitely come back to see her. She gets all my stars but for the rest of this place I would give 0 stars if I could. What made me uncomfortable was the front staff's approach. It was extremely arrogant, the girl at the front had such an attitude, didn't even look at me while talking. On top of it, she wouldn't stop trying to sell me something. I understand that's what they have to do but it was to an extreme which made me just want to leave this place. Additionally, I had to wait 30 min between my facial and laser appointment but when it was time to get to the laser room, they realized they hadn't have me see a nurse practitioner beforehand. I don't trust doctors who put their bottom line before their patients' constitutional rights. I was refused treatment because I refused to sign the insurance carrier's arbitration agreement. I have a fundamental disagreement with any doctor whose philosophy is, "My bottom line is more important than your constitutional right to a jury trial." Which is essentially what the receptionist, or whoever was at the front desk, said to me after I told her I think arbitration agreements are wrong. "It's a business practice." Fine. But I'm not giving up my constitutional rights so easily. Lots of doctors and hospitals have arbitration agreements--which I always refuse to sign--but not many refuse to provide care and treatment if you don't sign them. I have continued treating with doctors who will treat even if a patient does not sign an arbitration agreement. I can respect that. The insurance carrier is the one who makes the doctors put that agreement in the intake packet. It's the doctors who force their patients to sign who I don't trust. It's one thing to have to include the agreement in the packet because your carrier makes you; it's another matter entirely if you make it a conscious practice to force a patient to sign in order to get care. Bottom line is, if a doctor can't respect my rights, then I don't I want them to treat me anyway. It's disrespectful to patients. And in my view, it's immoral for a doctor, whose motto is supposed to be "First, do no harm," (Hippocratic oath, anyone?) to refuse to treat someone because she won't sign an arbitration agreement. P.S. Lots of those arbitration agreements are unenforceable anyway. I still won't sign them. read more

HORRIBLE SCHEDULING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! I first made an appointment At Dr. Laser about a month ago. I set up for my first appointment fo 9:45 a.m., and showed up at 9:40. I was asked to wait and fill out some paperwork. At 10:20, I asked when the appointment might actually occur, and was told that the person I was scheduled with was running late. I was asked to wait another 15 to 30 minutes before she would arrive, But had other appointments scheduled and had to leave. When I came back the second time for my appointment, I waited about 15 minutes beyond the time my appointment was to start before being told that they were completely out of the product I had come to be treated with. I was asked to reschedule. Nobody had thought to call me to tell me that I should reschedule because they didn't have what I was looking for. The third time I came, I was informed that they only had about one third of the total required product available. I went ahead and was treated on a portion of the area because I did not want to wait any longer. Again, nobody thought to cal and inform me that i woulnd't be able to complete a full treatment. At that time, I was offered a free facial because of the issues that had occurred up to that point. I thought this was really nice, accepted, and scheduled an appointment for the facial. Today was my appointment for a facial, and I showed up five minutes before the start time of my appointment, 3 PM. At 3:25, I walked up to reception to tell them I couldn't stay because I had other appointments I had to get to later in the afternoon. I was told that the person performing my facial would be just a few minutes, and the girl at the reception she seemed shocked that I couldn't stay all afternoon. The person who was supposed to be giving me the facial was standing behind the desk and very nonchalantly looking at her nails. There was absolutely no understanding of or respect for the fact that I couldn't sit and wait all day for an appointment that was scheduled for 25 minutes earlier. I understand when things get delayed, but 25 minutes???? That is my fourth experience going to Dr. Laser, and not once was my full treatment fulfilled. I have, however, wasted plenty of time, energy, and gas getting to and from these appointments and sitting the waiting room. Dr. Laser may have great products ad great treatments, but I woulnd't know--they are so completely inept with their customer service, scheduling, and product ordering that despite my best efforts to give them my time and money, they completely failed. I would highly recommend finding another skin spa--there are dozens in LA who are much better. read more

Okay, I just recently visited Dr. Laser on Tuesday 2/12/2013. I came to Dr. Laser because I purchased a signature facial on Groupon for $29. When you think of getting a facial, you think of relaxing and being calm, and let me start off by saying that RELAXING WAS BY FAR THE FURTHEST THING that was going to happen. I called a week ahead and scheduled an appointment. But when I showed up, everything is so scattered. A woman mentions that she can't find my appointment, and her computers are down so she will check it when they're back up in "a little while". That little while meant 30 minutes. As I filled out paperwork when I was waiting, I was able to overhear an Physicians Assistant tell a girl that they are out of Restylane and they cannot do the procedure the girl came in for today. HA. Thanks for the notice? They then agreed to give the girl a free facial, and lets just say that the girl was NOT PLEASED, and had this angry look on her face the entire time. After 30 minutes, when no one checked on me, I finally went back to the front to have the woman tell me my appointment was for another day, a day that I was already going to be out of town (a day planned months ago). So I corrected her, and fortunately the man working in front, told me he'll make it work today. He was also so generous that instead of a facial ($100 value), he upgraded me to have a Laser rejuvenation treatment ($320 value). AWESOME! The catch was, when I tried to figure out any side effects and what this treatment was going to do for me, all he said was "see all these things you checked, it'll help those". HAHA. that's it? Ridiculous. Then as I wait again for another 30 minutes, I am doing my own research, and this man is running around back and forth like a madman. TOTAL WAIT TIME: 1 hr (after my appt at 4pm) I went in for the treatment, and the woman doing it practically didn't know what laser rejuvenation was. But she did tell me that what she is using on my FACE is the same laser they use on tattoo removal! SUCH A JOKE, thank you that made me feel so comfortable. Afterwards my face burned so bad, but I can say it was a neat treatment, and I may get it again. BUT NOT FROM DR. LASER. When I was ready to go, I basically couldn't leave. I give it to Dr. Laser, in that the two people--chaotic man and the woman who did my treatment--have great sales experience. But too pushy is not okay, way to push away your clients. Not only were they trying to get me to buy products, they wanted to make sure I bought a $4000 package to do 10 more treatments, because of course I needed 10 more laser treatments. Yes I want perfect skin, but I want a roof over my head. I came in with a Groupon, doesn't that explain anything, in and of itself??? They pushed so hard, it ended up going to the point of me telling them I was poor and had no money, DISGUSTING. Where the man says "no money, what do you mean? of course you do!", and I even included that I have loans, etc to pay for, and he responds "who doesn't have loans?" I mean how condescending! I am updating my review of Dr. Laser. Yesterday I had a facial Miriam. She is amazing. She really takes her time and your skin feels so great afterward. The owner has been in the store on Wilshire Blvd a few times when I have been there and has gifted me several times with laser treatments. He's extremely knowledgeable about the face and our skin. What an awful unprofessional dirty place, I walked out before I had my treatment. First the laser specialist told me that I didn't have any hair, then she stepped out so that I could change and mentioned that she needed to check on another guest . Went in for the first time today and the staff was amazing! The girls at the front desk were kind enough to walk me to their parking since I was confused on where to park. They have professionals and nurses making sure you are medically good to go depending on what treatment you are going in for and are attentive and truly at your service. As for the actual treatment, I felt I was very informed on exactly what the procedure was doing to my skin and how to take the necessary precautions after the facial. long story short, i came in with a groupon, purchased more sessions at the time of the groupon due to them offering me a discount, but now feel as though i shouldn't have accepted any discounted services because that means that my groupon is essentially not being honored. very disappointed. i was told that they would charge my care credit card with part of the amount for the full services then and part later, but that was not the case. instead of being charged $500 and going from there i was charged $1500, a completely different and much larger sum of money. when i called them to question the amount they told me that i mus have been confused and that they don't issue refunds so i can use that money towards other services but they wont refund me any money, regardless of what the discrepancy of the price was. so im left with a bad taste in my mouth. i was told that monthly, my care credit charge would be $60, which is totally manageable and reasonable to me. it actually was double that, at $120. not as manageable for me. at all. so, be forewarned, if you have a groupon, hold off on the discount. it pretty much will cancel out your groupon. also, dont let them convince you that they will partially charge you, because they wont. you will end up with a big ol bill and a "sorry, no refunds" as a result. the facilities are nice enough, the girls that work there are super cute, but i cant help but feel like i was scammed just a lil bit. read more

I went there because of the groupon for one signature facial I bought a while ago. Overall the place was pretty nice and clean, which is very important to me when it comes to going to a spa. People were pretty nice and friendly to me. Unfortunately, they couldn't stop selling me things, both services and products, for almost the entire time I was there. One of their services they were trying to sell was their special on laser skin rejuvenation for $99 and I tried it. When I was done with my appointment, the guy tried to sell me a package for more treatments, which I had to decline. Also, the lady who did my facial kept talking and telling me how good OBGI products are. She even asked me how I felt about her skin in the middle of my facial appointment....and all I wanted to do was to relax and enjoy my facial. On top of that, I can't even say the facial was all that good. My nose is now red, probably a little bruised because of the extraction, and peeling on the sides. However, I must say the lady who did my laser skin rejuvenation was super nice and very knowledgeable. She made the experience end on a pretty good note. I have been coming here for over a year now because I bought a package of facials, laser facials, and micro needling. This place feels like home at this point, I come in so often. First off I love the girls at the front desk, they are all super friendly. They always find ways to get me in for an appointment no matter what. They are great!!! Sometimes I've had scheduling issues where they'll book me with the wrong person and that's the only reason why I don't give this place five stars. I'm very particular about who touches my face. I started using Zhaneta for facials and I absolutely LOVE her ! She is amazing with skin and she's hilarious as well. The only issue is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to book an appointment with her so because of a recent skin freak out I had to try someone else. I started seeing Alexandra and let me tell you, she is FANTASTIC. She is the type of esthetician that will REALLY get in there with extractions. If you need a good facial cleaning, she's your girl. She also recently did a chemical peel on me the Vi Peel and it was GREAT. I will definitely do more of those. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the microneedling treatments. I have had three or four done and I didn't see results. The laser facials were okay in my opinion. For acne, the facials and peels are the way to go ! I also tried Botox here for the first time and not only was it painless, they were also super natural results !!! The facility is in a great location and has a very relaxing feel to it. I love going to Dr. laser! I always go to this location to take care of all of my skin care needs. First off, I love all of the staff because they are always welcoming and friendly when I go in for my visits and they follow up with me a few days before my appointments to confirm that I am still available. The whole staff is very knowledgeable about skin care products and just by looking at your skin they know what type of treatments you need. I have received 6 facials, 5 skin rejuvenation's, and 2 skin penns. I Absolutely LOVE and recommend Eti! She does all of my facials and Skin Penns. I recommend her because she has been the one that has taken care of my skin since I started going to Dr. Laser. I've been to other places where I haven't received the same love and care for my skin like I do with my experience with Eti. I feel that she takes the extra time and care to make sure that my skin is completely and thoroughly cared for before I walk out the door, she makes my experience personable and that is why I keep coming back. Dr. Laser is a place that I recommend anyone to go because I have seen a tremendous difference in my face and skin tone where I am now comfortable walking around the grocery store and being around my friends and family without makeup, and I am loving all the wonderful comments they are saying about my skin and how it's improved. read more
