This salon is very unprofessional, unhygienic, and downright rude. I have come here twice now and have been disappointed both times. The first time, I did a plain green colored gel manicure but my sister did an intricate design. They charged $35 extra for the design, but it was so worth it. The female nail tech did a wonderful job bringing my sister's vision to life. The male tech I got however, did a very hurried and bad job on my nails. Firstly, I chose a dark green color that looked much darker and prettier on the sample, but when it was on my hand, it didn't look like the same color. I tipped my male nail tech way too generously for the crappy job he did, but it was the holidays so I felt bad. The female nail tech however did a great job and deserved the generous tip (I gave her $20 extra and the male nail tech I gave $10 although I was not happy with the service). Today, I went again to take my sister to get a gel manicure. She likes this place because of how they did her nails last time, so she wanted to come again. We booked an appt for today at around 3, and I informed them I would be about 10-15 min late and they said it was fine. The same male tech I got last time during Christmas is the one who did my sisters nails today. Again, he did such a bad, hurried job and looked like he just wanted to get us out of the salon. He wasn't careful with the job so you can tell it's rushed and you can still see space between her nail color and her cuticle, so it looks like her nails have already grown a bit even though her nails were done a FEW HOURS AGO. The second worst part about the experience is that at the end, he does this weird thing where he puts lotion all over your arms and hands. Like, up to your elbow. He rolled up my sisters sleeves on her new, sensitive leather jacket, and he put lotion all over her arms and he got some lotion on her jacket. When I mentioned the concern of the lotion getting all over her jacket, the male nail tech scoffed at me and rolled his eyes and said "it's just lotion; it will come out." I don't need the know-it-all, rude attitude. If I'm concerned about my clothing getting ruined by your incompetent, uncaring way of doing your job, you should show more empathy. Instead, he dismissed me and laughed at my concern. The absolute worst part of the experience was that when I went to pay, I paid $50 for the service, and put no tip. Then the receptionist has the unbelievable audacity to say "you didn't leave a tip on the card. Will you be tipping with Venmo or cash?" That is so unprofessional and not a way any business should conduct itself. If anyone puts no tip, you shouldn't be pushy about it. Then I told him "No, I'm not tipping today." Then he asked "well was there something wrong with the service?" And when I told him the gripes I had, he just said "I'm sorry about that. Thanks for your feedback." Why do so many businesses expect tips for services they are already charging for to provide? A tip is an OPTIONAL choice for a service if the customer felt you went above and beyond for a service. You shouldn't expect tips from any of your customers. You charged me $50 for the service. That is the price you have deemed is sufficient for providing that service. If you want to get paid more for doing a 30 minute rushed manicure job, raise your prices. Make the gel manicure $60 instead of $50, then you get your tip you so badly want but hardly deserve. It's not the customers job to make up for any lack of pay you get when you already charged $50 for the service. I won't be coming back here and would recommend others to do the same. If you do come back, make sure you book specifically with your preferred nail tech or you may get stuck with the guy I got today. read more

Service is great! I had a gel manicure and it started chipping after 3 days. I went back and they graciously fixed the 2 nails but then the next day (yesterday) two different nails chipped. again they fixed it , only asking me if I'm typing too hard or that my nails were too thin. My last gel lasted 5 weeks with no chips. Btw done by a different Santa Monica salon. I asked if the gel polish was old. But instead must have been user error. I can safely say now as two other nails have chipped today - It's the gel polish , must be old. Unfortunately, it's too expensive to have your nails chip after 3 days. Now it's a week and my nails look like garbage. It really is disappointing as I was excited about this salon. Again service is great. Attention to detail - great. But no matter how great all that is, if the polish is old it will chip. Pass. Update - Polish peeled right off. Polish is old. read more

Initially i was so excited to try this spa especially because i am new to the area and it had such great reviews. Don't get me wrong, everyone was so accommodating, parking was easy in a parking structure nearby, and the spa was very clean. I received a manicure and a cleopatra pedicure + gel. I spent $150 and I know for a fact that gel should not be lifting and chipping after ONE WEEK. On top of that not even 24 hours later, there was scratches and fog on my right hand. I absolutely love my nails!! I don't think the pictures can capture how cute they are! I'm obsessed. Not only did I love the finished product, I really enjoyed the service. This was one of the most concerning salon experiences I've had. The receptionist was friendly and welcoming, and my fiancé and I were seated together for a manicure and pedicure. Unfortunately, the sanitation practices during the service were extremely alarming. My nail technician did not open sterilized tools in front of me. She picked up what appeared to be previously used cuticle nippers. When I asked for a properly sterilized tool, she looked annoyed and sarcastically asked, "Are you happy now?" after bringing another one. Clients should never have to request basic hygiene. She then attempted to use what looked like a used nail file. When I questioned it, she said it had been opened that morning. Disposable files must be opened for each client -- not reused throughout the day. Reusing tools poses a real risk of fungal and bacterial infections. Only after I insisted did she bring a sealed file and open it in front of me -- again with an unprofessional attitude. My fiancé experienced a similar issue, although his technician replaced the tools without arguing. This does not appear to be an isolated mistake but a pattern of unsafe sanitation practices. Proper sterilization is a legal and health requirement in nail salons. Clients should not feel at risk of infection during a routine manicure. I cannot recommend this salon and would strongly encourage management to review their sanitation standards immediately. read more

I got a full set gel for my nails and I got a pedicure. I think it was the second choice in gel . Great service I love the 5 min foot massage that ( Tom Gave ) of course it came with the service . I never once had an issue with appointment timing (and I was often a Friday afternoon walk-in), service quality, design requests, or payment discrepancies. Pricing was always upfront and clearly communicated, which I especially appreciated since I frequently requested intricate nail art. Speaking of nail art -- they are simply the best. Multiple techs here are incredibly skilled and capable of executing a variety of designs. The level of artistry is truly top tier. To everyone at Nails on the Moon: thank you for making me feel like a respected and valued client throughout my entire time in LA. Thank you as well for the many compliments I received because of your beautiful work. I genuinely looked forward to seeing you all every other Friday. You've set the bar very high -- so much so that finding a new salon in the Bay has been difficult. With much gratitude and my highest recommendation.

I'm so glad I ended up at this salon and will be back every month! While chatting with Celina at the start of the appointment, I mentioned to her that my natural nails had become weak after repeatedly getting temporary nail extensions at another salon. Celina suggested that we could try a luminary hard gel overlay on my natural nails for long-lasting strength (~1 month) and nail growth without the need for gel-x/tips. No other nail technician had ever mentioned this as an option, and I am so happy with how it turned out! As someone who always had extensions, I've never seen my natural nails look so good in my life! Not only do they look great, but they also feel so strong, and I don't have to worry about them breaking. Celina is super detail-oriented and it's obvious that she cares a lot about her work and clients. On top of everything else, the polish options at this salon are beautiful. I have found that in many other salons, color options are overwhelming and laid out in a chaotic and overstimulating way. At Two Gemini Girls, polishes are grouped and organized not just by color, but also by color scheme/tone, which is such a better experience when choosing the perfect shade. 10/10!

We had a tight 90 minutes before my next meeting and I showed Celina my ideal design, disclaiming that I knew we were tight on time so I could pick something else, but she was game to do it, and she did exactly that design in the time allotted! We watched traitors and we chatted, it was so relaxing, and then at the end I had my dream nail design. Thank you so much! Will definitely be back on future trips to LA!

I have been hankering for a pedicure for a while, and not just any pedicure. I wanted something…read moremore therapeutic. My feet have been through it the last couple of years (sports) and I wanted to get serious about caring for them properly, not just getting them painted. Of course, I turned to Yelp for the scoop and zeroed in on Ms. Glen's Therapeutic Manicures & Pedicures. I finally got a chance to go see Ms. Glen and it was everything I wanted and more. It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. And thanks again for the massage therapist recommendation. Rest and recovery, here I come!

If your feet are in need of TLC, renewal and restoration, Ms. Glen has a carefully curated service that will leave your feet feeling brand new. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!
