Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my experience here. I got builder gel, and within only three days, two of my nails broke along the sides. I expected the manicure to hold up much longer than that, especially for builder gel. I was also surprised at checkout when I was charged more than the price I had been quoted over the phone. I chose not to dispute it at the time, but the combination of the unexpected price difference and having two nails break just a few days later left me dissatisfied with the experience. This salon is very unprofessional, unhygienic, and downright rude. I have come here twice now and have been disappointed both times. The first time, I did a plain green colored gel manicure but my sister did an intricate design. They charged $35 extra for the design, but it was so worth it. The female nail tech did a wonderful job bringing my sister's vision to life. The male tech I got however, did a very hurried and bad job on my nails. Firstly, I chose a dark green color that looked much darker and prettier on the sample, but when it was on my hand, it didn't look like the same color. I tipped my male nail tech way too generously for the crappy job he did, but it was the holidays so I felt bad. The female nail tech however did a great job and deserved the generous tip (I gave her $20 extra and the male nail tech I gave $10 although I was not happy with the service). Today, I went again to take my sister to get a gel manicure. She likes this place because of how they did her nails last time, so she wanted to come again. We booked an appt for today at around 3, and I informed them I would be about 10-15 min late and they said it was fine. The same male tech I got last time during Christmas is the one who did my sisters nails today. Again, he did such a bad, hurried job and looked like he just wanted to get us out of the salon. He wasn't careful with the job so you can tell it's rushed and you can still see space between her nail color and her cuticle, so it looks like her nails have already grown a bit even though her nails were done a FEW HOURS AGO. The second worst part about the experience is that at the end, he does this weird thing where he puts lotion all over your arms and hands. Like, up to your elbow. He rolled up my sisters sleeves on her new, sensitive leather jacket, and he put lotion all over her arms and he got some lotion on her jacket. When I mentioned the concern of the lotion getting all over her jacket, the male nail tech scoffed at me and rolled his eyes and said "it's just lotion; it will come out." I don't need the know-it-all, rude attitude. If I'm concerned about my clothing getting ruined by your incompetent, uncaring way of doing your job, you should show more empathy. Instead, he dismissed me and laughed at my concern. The absolute worst part of the experience was that when I went to pay, I paid $50 for the service, and put no tip. Then the receptionist has the unbelievable audacity to say "you didn't leave a tip on the card. Will you be tipping with Venmo or cash?" That is so unprofessional and not a way any business should conduct itself. If anyone puts no tip, you shouldn't be pushy about it. Then I told him "No, I'm not tipping today." Then he asked "well was there something wrong with the service?" And when I told him the gripes I had, he just said "I'm sorry about that. Thanks for your feedback." Why do so many businesses expect tips for services they are already charging for to provide? A tip is an OPTIONAL choice for a service if the customer felt you went above and beyond for a service. You shouldn't expect tips from any of your customers. You charged me $50 for the service. That is the price you have deemed is sufficient for providing that service. If you want to get paid more for doing a 30 minute rushed manicure job, raise your prices. Make the gel manicure $60 instead of $50, then you get your tip you so badly want but hardly deserve. It's not the customers job to make up for any lack of pay you get when you already charged $50 for the service. I won't be coming back here and would recommend others to do the same. If you do come back, make sure you book specifically with your preferred nail tech or you may get stuck with the guy I got today. read more

Initially i was so excited to try this spa especially because i am new to the area and it had such great reviews. Don't get me wrong, everyone was so accommodating, parking was easy in a parking structure nearby, and the spa was very clean. I received a manicure and a cleopatra pedicure + gel. I spent $150 and I know for a fact that gel should not be lifting and chipping after ONE WEEK. On top of that not even 24 hours later, there was scratches and fog on my right hand. Service is great! I had a gel manicure and it started chipping after 3 days. I went back and they graciously fixed the 2 nails but then the next day (yesterday) two different nails chipped. again they fixed it , only asking me if I'm typing too hard or that my nails were too thin. My last gel lasted 5 weeks with no chips. Btw done by a different Santa Monica salon. I asked if the gel polish was old. But instead must have been user error. I can safely say now as two other nails have chipped today - It's the gel polish , must be old. Unfortunately, it's too expensive to have your nails chip after 3 days. Now it's a week and my nails look like garbage. It really is disappointing as I was excited about this salon. Again service is great. Attention to detail - great. But no matter how great all that is, if the polish is old it will chip. Pass. Update - Polish peeled right off. Polish is old. read more

I got a manicure on September 8, and one of the nails broke only one week later. I returned to the salon, and they repaired the nail under their warranty at no charge. I did not raise a concern before leaving because I wanted to examine the nails more closely. Once I saw them in natural light, the repaired nail and the overall shaping appeared uneven and poorly finished. I contacted the salon promptly, explained the issue, and sent several clear photos. The salon said that because I did not complain before leaving, they were not given an opportunity to make further adjustments. However, I had already spent additional time returning once for the repair and did not feel comfortable making repeated trips to correct the same service. Management refused my refund request and offered only a $20 discount toward a future manicure. That resolution would require me to return and spend even more money at the salon, so I declined it. I'm very disappointed by both the quality of the finished result and the way my concerns were handled, particularly after being a customer for several years. I will not be returning.

I explained that I had an appointment with Wendy. I was then told that Wendy wasn't available, yet they still expected me to proceed with someone else. That wasn't what I had specifically called ahead to arrange. I got up and went to the front desk, where I was met by a woman who appeared visibly annoyed. Rather than communicating with me, she relied almost entirely on gestures and handed me her cell phone to speak with the owner. The voice on the phone sounded like the same gentleman I had spoken to when I made my appointment. During that conversation, I was suddenly told that no one named Wendy works there and that I must have meant Mindy. I had already seen the technician wearing a name tag that said "Mindy," so I knew who they were referring to. After waiting a few minutes, another employee told me, "Mindy is ready for you." At that point, I noticed that the same technician I had previously seen wearing a "Mindy" name tag was now wearing a different name tag. This salon is in a prime location and serves a discerning clientele. Customers deserve honesty, respect, and clear communication. Instead, I felt like I was being misled and treated as though I wouldn't notice what was happening. I chose to walk out. I hope the owners take a hard look at how their business is being run and how customers are treated.

Celina suggested that we could try a luminary hard gel overlay on my natural nails for long-lasting strength (~1 month) and nail growth without the need for gel-x/tips. No other nail technician had ever mentioned this as an option, and I am so happy with how it turned out! As someone who always had extensions, I've never seen my natural nails look so good in my life! Not only do they look great, but they also feel so strong, and I don't have to worry about them breaking. Celina is super detail-oriented and it's obvious that she cares a lot about her work and clients. On top of everything else, the polish options at this salon are beautiful. I have found that in many other salons, color options are overwhelming and laid out in a chaotic and overstimulating way. At Two Gemini Girls, polishes are grouped and organized not just by color, but also by color scheme/tone, which is such a better experience when choosing the perfect shade. 10/10!

In response to the comment below, I wrote a three start review for what I believed to be 3 star service, and now 1 star service. If you offer to make something right, make it right. I was trying to be kind, but apparently that does not garner better service from you or your staff. I spent at minimum 196 dollars and left with smudges toes even though I insisted they were not dry and then toes that are painted two different colors after being told time and time again by your staff that I was wrong and it would look the same when dry. When dry, it was clear to both of us she was wrong. She didn't even offer to fix it or apologize she just tried to paint over them to get me out as quickly as possible. You chose to argue with me about the total instead of address the fact that I left with toes painted two colors. I don't care about the cost, I care about my time. That makes one of us. ___________________________________________________________________________ I have to say this is a beautiful salon with the cutest dog, and the nicest people. All of that being said, sneaking away to the nail salon is a time luxury for me, and I like my nails done well without having to correct a bunch of things or sound like a brat. I generally have to leave work early just to go, so if I sound like a brat here, that's why. I spent about $196.00 on me a friend. I'm not sure how the conversation went between her and the staff regarding her treatment. I did mention a few times that it was her birthday but no one seemed to care? Not an issue, they offered us tea and cookies - awesome. I don't know if she declined any of the upgrades, but hers cost about $70.00 for gels and a pedi (30 dollars less than mine). I was hoping to pamper her a bit so I wish someone asked me. 1. Eyebrows: they were not done very well. I didn't really mind though, I have difficult eyebrows and I just grabbed a pair of tweezers myself when I got home and drew in the part that was cut short. Yes, I could and probably should have said something, but at that point I didn't. 2. Nails, my gels were awesome. They charged 10 to take off my old ones. Okay by me. The corner of one has chipped, which has never happened to me before... but I'm going to chalk it up to something I did. 3. Pedicure. The color was too dark and the polish too thin and runny. Again, I don't like to complain. It's the type of polish where you can see it get more opaque as gravity pulls it down. Not a big deal. They rub oil on it and then proceed to put my shoes on. Now I know from the place I normally go to, if I did this, I would be yelled at. No close toe shoes for at least a few hours when you have multiple coats. I indicated that I didnt think they were dry, she checked them again by pushing the color a bit and said they were fine. I get home and they are a mess. 4. Paying. I asked someone if I could close out. I tried to pay before my friend noticed. I was told that the person I asked was busy and someone else would help me. A gentleman helped me and I went off to the bathroom. As we were leaving, I get told that I didnt pay for hers too. I have to assume this came out when they asked her to pay. 5. I get home and my pedicure is ruined. Even worse I dont have a similar color to fix it, so I email the person I confirmed with and she says no problem, come back and we'll fix it. I explain that I am kind of busy, and I'm not sure when I can stop by in the next couple days. She said it is best to make an appointment. I say okay, I will let her know. Great Two days later I call as I'm leaving work (30 minutes away) and ask if I can come in. I'm informed that I missed my appointment the previous day but they will make room for me. I get there and the woman who is assigned to me has obviously been told she's the one who scrwed up my toes, because she keeps assuring me that she didn't. Finally they figure out who it was, and she just comes over to kind of watch the other girl fix my nails. 6. I explain that I just need the three toes on each foot fixed (assuming they will offer to redo them all together.... they do not). She "matches" the color and then finds a polish. It's much prettier than the color I had but not the same color. I keep pointing that out to her and she insists it is. I am starting to believe her... maybe when it dries, maybe after a top coat? Nope. Wrong color, but now she is done, and I am obviously unhappy. She then repaints all of them with the same color. I think its fine and thank her, but the truth is 3 coats of a darker color with a 4th of a lighter still does look different.... so now I look at my mismatching toes and laugh to myself. It's not worth a third trip in a week and more tip money. Nail salons have a tough gig. I appreciate that, but I don't have the energy. p.s. my friend also had to make a number of suggestions... one of which I overheard was that her toe nails should both be cut the same amount so that they would be the same length. read more

This is my nail salon in Los Angeles and Brian is the only nail tech who's been allowed to touch my nails in over 3 years. I've been coming to this salon since 2018. They are very clean and professional. They offer a wide variety of services and treatments and have an incredible color selection. All of the staff is amazing! Parking is easy right out front and worst case, just around the corner. Brian is my guy and besides being a genuine pleasure to talk with every couple of weeks, he does a really great job with my nails. He's honest about what needs to be done, I have never felt that he's advised me wrong, and my nails always look perfect! I nails down recommend this spa, Brian, and the rest of the staff. I look forward to my nail appointments. They make it a really lovely experience. I have been going to this salon weekly for at least 7 years. It's my happy place where I can tune the rest of the world out and relax! Every single technician who works at BonLierre is very dedicated to providing customer satisfaction. They all take their jobs very seriously and try to do great work and bring joy to their customers!! Nick is the best kept secret in town! His pedicures are fabulous! He strives his hardest to make the experience perfect...and he always succeeds! I highly recommend his pedicures. Brian is super conscientious and hard working. IVY IS INSANELY TALENTED!! I'm quite a perfectionist when it comes to my nails and I haven't been able to find a nail artist that lives up to my expectation until today! She's not only an absolute sweetheart but she is so detail oriented and her execution of my requested nail art (which she's never done before) was absolutely MIND BLOWING! I am a huge fan of this nail salon. It took a lot of trial and error for me to find the best nail salon that also had availability, did a good job, and also wasn't break your bank expensive! This salon has been my go to for the last many months for my dip manis and regular pedis. They've always done a good job and don't try to upsell you on anything. They do have amazing pedicure options, and I usually try one of their speciality pedicures because my poor runners feet need help. They have free seltzer while you get your nails done and a rewards program for frequent members, which both I'm a fan of. The salon is kept really clean, which I've appreciated because it's felt a lot more luxe. For parking, it's street parking with a meter, so plan to walk a little if the meters close to the salon are taken read more

This place is much better than any of the other Santa Monica nail places. It's a little pricier but well worth it many of the products are organic including their lotions, and the teas that they offer. I have gotten two gel manicures there and both times they started to chip within a few days... I am not used to them chipping until the third week... I love the ambience there- quiet, classy, etc., but.... if I keep needing to go in to get my nails fixed, I will settle for a place that isn't as organic, is cheaper, and allows having the manicure without needing to worry about chipping. read more

This was my last time at this place. My problems with it: 1. I went in at 11:30 AM and came out at 3:00 PM!!!reallyyyy it's not a surgery for god's sake!!! 2. I checked the color 3times and she still got it wrong!!! I wanted silver, she gave me pink!!! 3. She kept saying the last person that did your nails wasn't good, which hearing this over and over for 4 hours was soooo annoying!!! 4. Made an appointment here to go with a girlfriend for a pre-graduation treat and had to wait an HOUR when we both had appointments...very disappointing considering that I had a good first time experience here but the man at the front was extremely rude and complained that I did not confirm our appointments and therefore he considered them cancelled. I understand when salons charge you for being a no-show to an appointment but in this case to CANCEL our appointments simply because I missed a few phone calls to confirm was completely unprofessional. I am so happy to have found BonLierre! The brown sugar and coconut oil scrub was amazing. Walked in the other day for Gel nails. Great job! Lots of colors and designs to choose from. My daughter sat for 2 hours for a gel manicure and it was so messy that another technician could not even salvage it so we sat another hour for a new manicure. Tipped both technicians. The owner offered a partial refund for me only after seeing my review. The manager Tiffany was so aggressive that I decided to walk out. I prefer to pay and be truthful to my Santa Monica community. Took my girlfriend to get her nails done, she requested only gel and cat eye, $25 for the gel and $15 extra for cat eye design. So $35 total. No at the counter they charged us $60 dollars. Mind you my girlfriend didn't consent to the cuticle cleaning and hand massage. If this is why it was ran up, this is absolutely ridiculous, we will go back for our money back. Despite returning after a year, the technician was unwilling to properly clean my nails with a gel remover and instead insisted on keeping the old gel and charging me for it. I wish I knew so I could have gotten her out of there sooner. Notice how Patrick never denied harassing my friend in his super professional response. On top of everything, the set she got was ugly and poor quality, just like mine (see pics). Ladies, be so careful around that nail tech. He is not one of the girls. It's even more alarming that he's the owner. I can only imagine how he conducts himself with his all female staff in the off hours. Edit: Patrick, please don't lie about this. I was there. She very gently and efficiently removed my remaining extensions, and meticulously trimmed, filed and buffed my natural nails before applying cuticle oil, and I can definitely tell that the techs are very experienced while prioritizing customer comfort. This spot is such a hidden gem (and my roommate has had good experiences with walk-in's/getting removals and gel x extensions here), and I'll definitely be back again soon to support such a sweet, Asian and woman-owned business!

The first time I came she asked me questions about myself and has been able to help me pick out colors and styles I would not have thought of. As a toddler mom, I also appreciate that she is always on time and efficient - I am in and out with a gel mani in under an hour. The salon itself is very clean. Parking is a little difficult as it is on Main but I always find a spot in the neighborhood.
