    aren't they badass?!?
    Christopher S.

An earlier review on the Dr. Marten's Tulalip location complains about the quality of the product but I hope to balance out that review with this glowing recommendation of this location based on my *experience*. Whether or not the product lasts is partly up to me; my "old" pair was purchased seventeen years ago and are still strong despite me not having given them as much care as they deserve. Please note that over a long period of time, employees change, management changes, the product changes... as is often stated, YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY. I'd had an incidental visit on 20 January 2020 and took notice of an attractive pair, the 1490 Joska, a sweet ten-eyelet boot with some sexy strapping action; I left without purchasing them because of some fitting advice I'd previously received at the Downtown Seattle location, fearing they were too small. I came back into town - where I reside - and contacted the Seattle location to check availability of my size. "No, we just shipped this boot back; they're seasonal and being discontinued." I couldn't get over them! I visited various web sites to try and find what I assumed was my size and verified the low availability due to their apparent discontinued status. Then I took notice of this phrasing on the Dr. Marten's web site: "We offer whole sizes only. If you are a half size, ***order the next size down.***" "Wait a second," I thought, "Tulalip had the right size!" The following evening, 21 January 2020, I drove back to the Tulalip location from Downtown Seattle during the evening commute hours and walked into an empty store - after all, who hangs out at an outdoor mall property when it's raining cats and dogs [living together] and birds and planes and trains and automobiles outside? The Joska's were right by the front door, so I grabbed the right size, walked up to the counter, and the two young women at the front counter gave me clarification on sizing, boot materials, manufacturing location (England, Vietnam, et al), their footwear experiences... and were just genuinely cool and polite. I had such an amazing experience with them that I intend to follow up this Yelp review with a written letter to the store manager so I can commend these two individuals So yeah... I bought the pair, and tossed in some boot care balm, too. What's more, my homework was validated by the two employees, and nothing tastes as sweet as confirmation. I've had my previous pair o' docs (paradox?) for seventeen years without caring for them too much, imagine what I can do with a pair that's given the attention they deserve! Thank you two for the fantastic experience, and I won't wait another seventeen years to make another purchase from this location.

However, when my gaze fell upon Aerosoles, located practically right next to Rocky Mountain Candy Factory, all thoughts of cheese flew out of my head. I have sensitive, malfunctioning feet and so it's very difficult for me to find shoes that are comfortable day in and day out. Anything with heels is almost automatically excluded from consideration. So, of course I have a weakness for boots - particularly knee-high ones. I've had good luck wearing Aerosole shoes before (ordered online) but never found any boots that fit properly. I failed to find any knee-high boots this time as well, but I did score a pair of super-comfy, gorgeous ankle boots with a sensible heel and which make my feet look like a petite fairy's feet. I could wish that the outlet prices were a little more discounted - my 'originally $90' boots were still $80, and they don't list prices on the boxes or shelves, so I had to ask the sales girl. However, the entire staff was extremely friendly and happy to help. I wore the boots for a full day of work and survived with only mildly sore feet and no falls, trips, or other awkward spills. Now I just need to find some pants that are long enough to wear with them!

We go through Le Creuset I pick out a few Dutch oven options take a few pictures and we wander down to the shoe store. We are not greeted. There is nobody at the register and we go back to where we had previously purchased my husband shoes that he was wearing the shoes he wanted to replace. We come across an employee and we are not greeted with any type of words or genuine concern, or any gumption to actually provide assistance. In fact, she has let it be known by her facial antics that she is annoyed and irritated by the audacity of our presence that we are taking of her space. I'm thinking OK we can try to manage this alone. We ask her about a particular style and she doesn't even look down and my husband shows his shoe like this one she doesn't say let me figure out if we have something that's kind of like it anything she just dismisses us again we clearly are annoying her. Honestly it was actually genuinely disappointing. We're about to hand you $200 for two pairs of shoes and you are snot. No no no no no no no no. At this point, my husband says let's just go. I wanna go home. I don't wanna deal with this so we go order a Dutch oven. It'll be shipped to our house and then we go to Costco my husband so exhausted of this whole interaction that I leave him in the truck while I go into Costco on a Friday afternoon so he can calm down all he wanted was a pair of shoes. So if you want some mean cranky old lady disrespecting your elderly husband by all means go in there I did talk to the manager this afternoon ( the next day) and she apologized and offered me 10%. Yes the next purchase we make there 10% no no no no no no I'm not interested. I think I will I have to find his shoes someplace else. It won't be there. I don't pay people to be snotty and cranky. It's funny because the manager told me that the employee came to her and told her about the interaction and that she might be getting a phone call about this situation. So for future reference, if your employees are gonna be cranky and snotty and offensive, let them know that they should probably take the day off. I know managing people is like herding cats but if they can't behave properly maybe they should be barn cats.

Shopping in the Seattle area in Washington State…read more.. Seattle Premium Outlets is not really on the main road. I couldn't see a sign from the highway. I just trusted my GPS. I knew that Pop Mart was at this outlet. This was my main goal... to visit a Pop Mart, because it's not in Hawaii. Since we were there, we saw a Miniso and Claire's. We also went inside "anime World", another cute shop. Another reason why we wanted to visit Seattle Premium Outlets was to stretch our legs - because of the long drive from Vancouver to Seattle. We also needed a restroom. Gosh... it was far away from Pop Mart, Claire's, and Miniso... and walking in the rain made it more challenging! At least we accomplished all of our goals... and then some!

I don't remember it that bananas, it was a madhouse. What concerned me the most, there are not a lot of access options, so when you have that kind of traffic coming in or out... it was total gridlock. There was no one assisting with traffic, it took us an hour from the highway to get parked and while we found parking on the upper deck in the back, getting out was impossible. We sat there for 45min without moving, so we decided to go back in and get coffee. I doubt this is up to any safety code or whatever, if there would have been an accident, fire, any emergency... this could have been a very bad outcome. They need to get traffic people in to move cars, add additional access points in the front and back to get more cars out if needed and the upper deck needs direct access to get out on the main road. The shops itself had good deals, which is rarely the case nowadays. I feel they had much better deals in the past, but good enough on black friday. Would I go again on BF, hell no. Never ever again! I'm doing spring and fall again and call it a day. Food court overrun, dirty and so were the bathrooms. We did this to ourselves, but the safety concern was the most pressing issue for us.
