I really love this place. Dr. Q is a phenomenal dentist with great knowledge and insight. She's someone I trust 110% when it comes to my dental care! I've even referred my mom to her because I trust her that much. I Had THE best last minute dental visit experience ever. Yesterday I had eaten some gushers & my back crown popped off while chewing. I freaked out not knowing if there were any offices opened during the pandemic. Luckily from Google search we found Dr Q dental office. Called them yesterday to see if they had any openings for a recement of the crown & they were able to get me in today. They close their office at 4 on Fridays. My appointment was at 3:15. They took all the safety precautions: mask on, hand sanitizers, temperature check. I had mini x rays done, Dr Q checked my tooth cleaned it off & recemented my crown. Suggested several options that she recommended. I told Dr Q that I would make her proud and send her photos of my follow up on getting my ortho procedure. She was so sweet. Great dental practice! Dr. Q is very kind and welcoming. I had a cracked filling that I needed to have replaced. I love that she explained everything along the way, showed me my radiographs and before and after photos. I also have a lot of anxiety going to the dentist because of previous scary visits with other dentists and she really helped keep me calm. They even offer you to connect your phone to a headset so that you can listen to your own music during the procedure. They also have weighted blankets to put along your shoulders. I've never had these things offered to me by any other dentist and it really helps with the anxiety of being at the dentist. I was introduced to this place by a coworker. I had lost a crown and she suggested to go in right away as I can get an infection. Luckily we were literally steps away, having lunch. Uhhh. Awesome she is and her staff. Like the previous reviewer, I have become unsatisfied with my previous dentist and I was in a quest to a find a good one in my city. So I tried it with the guidance of the Yelpers. Hi Five them. First, I called the office and wanted to know what my PPO insurance would cover. (Yes I am a dummy for not knowing the details of my insurance policy. But I am slowly learning.) Kim was very kind enough to get all that information for me. So once I knew my cleaning was covered 100%, I scheduled an appointment. Once I entered their office, I got a good vibe about this place. It was not a big place so I knew I was going to get the care and the detail for my visit. My hunch was correct. I was first impressed by the high tech equipment she has. The x-ray was painless and was done with ease. You know why? Because you don't have to bite on those x-ray films they put in your mouth. Afterwards, she took a picture of each of my tooth to show to me what is wrong with them. She was surprised by the holes left by my previous fillings. She was also surprised there were silver residuals when they were replaced by white fillings. I think the best part of my visit was how she educated me on my teeth. By examining them, she diagnosed that I chew on ice. She doesn't recommend it because it impacts teeth structure. So now, I am going to change that habit so I don't get dentures earlier than expected. The other cool thing about Dr. Q is that she will give you an estimate how much it would cost you out of pocket for the work she will be doing. My previous dentist would not provide me with that option and just drill and fill my teeth. Doesn't that suck? Hell Yeah! Dr Q had good ratings and most of her patients were very satisfied with her, so I decided to give it a try. She gave me a consultation and provided me with a plan to give me the perfect teeth (and my teeth was faaar from perfection). The last time I went I was quoted a price on the phone (and I was taking notes) but when I went in for my appointment, it was $100 more. I was going in to have my wisdom teeth extracted- 5 of them, and I was not put under. Everyone I knew thought this was very strange so I asked over the phone before I called and they said they could give me valium. So when I go in for my appointment I was told I would have needed to get a prescription from them in advance so I could pick it up before my appointment, which of course by that time it was too late. The same person who gave me the wrong price neglected to tell me this information. To be fair, the normal admin was out on leave when I ran into these issues. Also, since then i have gone to other dentists who both commented on how strange it was that extraction was recommended since it didn't look like I needed it. My wisdom teeth were under my gums for so many years and hadn't moved and I likely went through all that for nothing. read more

I feel extremely cheated on their use of terminology of "in network" and "we accept" this particular insurance. I was never told that my insurance was not in network which is ALWAYS my first question when I'm a new patient. When money and insurance is involved it is an absolute that everything is transparent and it wasn't at this office. Saying that you accept my insurance makes it sound like I'm in network, especially when the question is, are in network? Why would I not be told yes we accept that insurance but it's not in network? Obviously I should have looked at everything on my end but I've been to many different doctors and I've never had an issue with the transparency of being in my network vs not in network. Offices will always say they accept insurance but you will get charged out of pocket because you're not in network. Always. When I called about this issue it was just a round about circle of how they use the phrase accepts insurance vs in network. Bottom line is that they were not 100% transparent. This office only is in network with ONE insurance company so please do your research. I went to this office for over 2 years and I didn't know the whole time that I wasn't in network and didn't know they are only in network with that one insurance company. I had my wisdom teeth extracted here and they gave me a quote about 1 or 2 months prior to the operation and on the day of I got a quote for more than double the original quote. We talked about my insurance and the costs that day and never once was it told me to it was this much more because you are not in network. I have really great dental insurance and since being at a different dentist the last couple of years I haven't had to pay a penny out of pocket. I paid well over a couple thousand at Dr. Q's. I had a tiny piece of pepper in my teeth one time that I thought was a cavity and they tried charging me $50! To remove a piece of pepper... Please do yourself a favor and just ask the right questions and question every cost if you are not in network with their one insurance company. Is Dr. Q a great dentist, yes she is. Her staff is lovely and I've never had a complaint about the service they provide, but am I upset about all the extra money that I spent at a dentist I wouldn't have even consider going to since I'm not in network? I was referred to Dr. Q by 800-Dentist in 2010. From my first visit she made me feel really comfortable and I thought I found the ultimate Dentist. However, over time just like another patient she started pushing procedures that I was not comfortable with. She told me because I grind my teeth I will need additional crowns on my back molders and my excessive grinding has caused my teeth to fractured. Not quiet satisfied with her diagnosis I decided to get second opinion, I visited two additional Dentist and they both advise me that 1. There were no symptoms of Teeth Grinding 2. I had a very small fracture on one of my molders however it was so small, they couldn't believe she suggested that I needed a crown. In fact both Dentist stated that my teeth are in Great Shape and do not need all the additional work that was recommend by Dr. Q. As mention by a previous Reviewer I have to agree that this is not a dental office but a business! I am happy I went with my first mind and got second and a third opinion as well because I would have gotten unnecessary dental work that would have cost me thousands of dollars in the end. read more

I am generally apprehensive about going to the dentist, but I decided to try coming to Dr. Q's after all the 5 star ratings I saw on Yelp. And I was not disappointed! The office itself is very warm and comfortable, none of the scary and sterile whitewashed walls and antiseptic smells in other dentist offices. They were burning a pumpkin spice scented candle the other time I was in, very festive. The staff is really professional and nice, and I was really pleasantly surprised when they followed up with me and asked me how I felt a few days after I had some fillings done. As for Dr. Q herself, she was very informative, approachable, and did a great painless job on my teeth. If you're dentist-phobic, you should really consider coming here for your future appointments. Amazing Dentist! My wife has been going to her for awhile and kept telling me I needed to go see her. I had not been to a dentist in over 10 years as I don't like dentist to be honest. My previous dental experiences were horrific, to say the least. I was traumatized to the point of tears just thinking about going to the dentist. I used to cry during routine cleanings. After speaking to Dr. Q at a local event, i decided to give her a try. Setting up the initial consult with x-rays was a breeze. Kim was so friendly and I immediately felt like this was going to be the place for me. The x-rays were extensive and the consult was thorough and Dr. Q explained everything tooth by tooth and answered all of my questions. The next step was the deep cleaning, which was a breeze, then a root canal...no pain at all, no kidding...none! Then root canal #2, then permanent crowns. The second root canal was done on a tooth that effected chewing on my left side. I wasn't able to chew on that side for years, until after the root canal. Again, completely painless. I have some more work to be done, but I am finally smiling fully and chewing on both sides :-) I haven't shed a tear or been nervous at all.
